The year is 1944 and the German army is in a full retreat. The Polish Home Army (Armia Krajowa) began an Uprising in Warsaw so that they could control Poland when the Soviet army arrived, thus asserting Poland as a sovereign nation instead of being a Russian satellite state. However, the Soviet leader, Joseph Stalin, ordered a tactical halt on the Polish front to allow the German army to destroy the insurgents in Warsaw. This film follows Porucznik (Lieutenant) Stefan Kowalski and his platoon during Warsaw Uprising.
NOTE: I tried my best to make the events depicted in this film as historically accurate as possible. However, due to this being a short stop-motion animation, some aspects of the battle had to be altered to fit the flow of the film. Thanks!

In the previous year, there was another uprising in the warsaw ghetto, it started in January 1943 when the German troops tried to gather more residents to take them to the treblinka camp, but we're ambushed and fought the residents for 3 days but then retreated. Few months later on April 19, the troops came back and more residents of the ghetto joined the fight. About a month later on May 16, the troops crushed the resistance and took 53,000 to treblinka while 7,000 died in the uprising. Eventually in August 1943 the residents who were captured broke out of the camp with shovels and a few firearms. About 100 survived the remainder of the war.
