I just bought a couple of these. Even though I have tons of size 11 beads, I like the kits because it gives me a chance to see how different colors go together. I have only done 8 warp with beads. The 12 warp appeals to me because it has a celleni look to it but the threads in kumihimo are much stronger, and I have never had a glue in clasp fail me

Could you tie the cord to a beading needle to make it easier to pick up the beads?
Cord like this is usually going to be too thick to work with a needle when doing kumihimo. A trick we like to do is to use glue to stiffen the end of the cord to help it act as its own needle, that can really speed things up. If I use 4mm beads, how many would I need per strand? (size 6/0)??
Hi! I think you will need to do some trial and error and experiment. I have not made this project with 6/0 beads before but I would say start with 20 on each strand and then add more if you need to. With that size bead, it will get very thick very quickly.
Are there 12 thread of 6 feet Each one?
Got a problem with not being able to get length right.
when i go by using 3 times length of size of project you want. stretch project after finishing.
i end up witha more than double size. So a 6 inch bracelet becomes a useless 15-17 inch. Tight tension.

I have lots of #6 beads in my stash. How would thqt change the process?
Using #6 beads won't change the braiding process, it'll just give you noticeably different, chunkier look

Hi! Thanks for the tutorial, it is really great. But I tried it for five times and didn't manage to do the pattern, it isn't spiral at all. Do you know why can it be?
I think it must be the bead placement. If you are doing the braiding correctly, then it has to be the placement of the beads on the strands and onto the different slots. I would double check that first. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
@@beadaholique hi! I continued my projects and in the end I managed to do the pattern, so I undid everything to start over and do it right. But when I started, it looked like straight lines not spirals again. When I put the bead under the strand, does it matter which one?

I followed the pattern and the strings kept getting so close to one another that I had to keep taking it apart...WHY?
Thanks for watching! It may be possible that there is too much tension from your Kumihimo weight. Using a lighter weight may help.
I bought the kit with purple beads but the deep purple beads did not go through :( I spent more then hour just with them and half of them don’t even have holes in them fully and 1/3 of the them..holes are way too small. So I need to go to store and buy those beads separately :( Golden and whites ones were fine.

Can you use cross stitch thread?
We haven't tried that yet but I think it would probably work just fine. Different materials can give you different looks and feel, but in general any material you can easily bead with will work well for beaded kumihimo.

Why do you use so much cord I can see loads left on the bobbin? I see it often with different videos is there a reason other than you might want to change your mind and make it longer
It's insurance really. If we accidentally under-measure on a project like this we're out several hours of beading, and recording time too, so we'd rather make a habit of over-measuring.

Well, it would be really nice if you COULD buy a full kit and not a refill! Try finding one to buy on your ridiculous web site. Only refills seem to be on offer. Very disappointing!
