Most watchable guest yet for me! Proper down to earth, clearly knows their car well and has great taste in proper old skool motors. Great channel. Love it!!!
Never ever have I heard Jamie say or even suggest "I was close to tapping out!" Says it all. Cracking car. Good vid fella, owner seems a sound lad too 👊🏻
Steven Donald loved max power magazine. The cars were pretty awful though thinking back, a k and n and an exhaust was ya limit on engine mods back in the 90s, to compensate that everyone added whale tails and Ferrari rear quarters that were made out of 3 tonne of fibre glass👌, love the smell of a new magazine 🤘
Nice throw back for me watching this, I had a pulsar about 10 years ago running 295 bhp, mongoose 5” exhaust, black diamond discs, ebc red stuff pads, 17” wheelmania jade rims, bleed valve etc. kicker 6x9’s, kenwood faceoff, Clifford security etc. spent over 40k modding it and sold it for a pittance, looking at prices now so wish I’d hung on to it. One day aspire to own one again definitely
Saw this today at the British car show, what an example, he mentioned it was on here. So here I am again 😂 what a really nice guy too.. took about 15 minutes out of his time to talk me & my 8 yo boy about everything. 😎👍🏻🥰
I'd like you all to know this,I was a passenger in a 2019 Golf R Today. The feelings these machines give you are unrivalled. Thanks for the ride Shane. #Kerbs
As a youngun, I lusted after one of these! They are beyond cool and like was mentioned you don't see them much now. Awesome car, awesome video! Respect to the owner he has lavished over that car and it shows! Keep up the great work JJ! Oh and huge congrats on 250k JJ! Here's to 500k! 💪
A great restoration of a 30 year old car and looks fantastic and goes so well. Thanks to the owner for letting it be on the channel and Jamie of course 👌👌
My god thats a blast from the past! I had one of these 20 years ago! Brakes and gearbox were always a weak point! Still a great car though, super rare now 🙌👊
The purdy channel one of the main issues I remember was people running 17’s and then launching them just destroyed the boxes people started running them on 14’s and 15’s with big power but anything over 400 you need the gear kit or even a quaife box
A friend of mine had one back in the day running 700 bhp with nos .. spent almost £50,000 on the lump and this was 15-16 years ago . We use to go to ten of the best quite a bit with dp motorsport who built my friends and his sons
Loved this car since day 1 too. Got a 5th gen prelude 2001. This guy did an amazing job with this pulsar. Will definitely own one in the next 5-10 years.
These are the cars that really got me into cars and the whole tuning aspect of them. My uncles mate took me out in one back in 2004 when I was 11 and just found the thing to be absolutely savage! The feeling of being pinned to your seat and really gripping onto the side bolsters of the seats was just something else. I'm 27 now and I get very giddy whenever I see one anywhere. This one looks and sounds like a car that's very enjoyable to drive though. Great video mate!
Used to have one of these back in the day as my everyday car. Pretty much stock other than a big Japanese exhaust, air filter and Apexi controller. Absolutely loved it. Also had a series 1 Escort RS Turbo at the same rime which only came out on sunny days! These days I drive a 16 plate stage 1 S3 which is great fun, but I’d swap it today to have both of my old toys back again..!!! Great video this one Jamie, brought back some fond memories
Not sure on the colour personally as they look so good in white but what an pukka job he has done and should be massively proud on bringing back one of best hot hatches to a high standard.... i remember so clearly run what you brung at santa pod 20 plus years back when the pulsars you do blow there diffs all over the place on launches so I don't blame him for the draggy times. Hats off to the vid mate and a massive hat off to the builder.
Absolute dream car.. original hooligan car.. a lad at one of our local car clubs few years ago had a black 470bhp pulsar proper track weapon exhaust out the front bumper one of the quickest things I been out in absolutely flew...
Had the pleasure of owning a black 310bhp pulsar back in the day (15 ish years ago) bumped into the kid I sold it to back then for £3500 the other morning and he sold it only last year for £15,000 👌🏻
You could solve the glove box problem by either cutting the door hatch to drop down, or modifying it to open sideways like a cupboard door. If you wanted to be extra creative you might be able to make the door an infinite mirror maze or make the latch a peep hole, or in the style of a stop watch. You could also try embedding a series of mirrors to see inside the dashboard or maybe the engine bay or maybe make it like a periscope for a novelty, or maybe with a camera to a hood ornament or bonnet pin to take selfies. There's always shape changing and memory metals to concider for the glove box and old retractable metal rod antenna if it has one. The roll cage could be used as a hinge for the glove box as a potential option, or maybe a sun visor and hinge with a magnet, clip or old garden gate or shed latch for a retro vibe, or maybe an old purse latch spring loaded. There's also the 2025 Bentley interface you could try installing in the glove box for something a bit different. The steering wheel may be a bit expensive with an airbag but as an interface it looks pretty cool. If the back seats are inaccessible you could concider some novelty gadgets using some concealed compartments to open up and extend some drinks or a note or business card to hand out your number to the chicks. Fridge magnets would be amusing concidering the cars a chick magnet. Naturally the magnets should be a Rooster (aka cock). There's always the old transferable text stickers to stick on the back of the phone like a tramp stamp or trademark, maybe having an old novelty carphone with it's own special number for the totty hot line. Naturally totty shotline is a bit of a word play of the toffy tally ho. You could always have a bunch of cheap disposable phones and sim cards you could store to give out and either redirect to a voicemail que or automated response if you have the cheek to dare. As a sprayer you could give out some spray tan coupons and some sex shop novelty products for a laugh. Obviously you should put them in kinder egg like capsules or in exploding tubes. Maybe some improvised sex theme snow globes for the Christmas season implying what scenario or theme to enact. There's always a pex dispenser with some instructions rolled up inside, some wipes and mints for after. You could think of a game of geo cache with placing some novelty hidden somewhere they could use an app on the phone or follow photos saved of locations with co-ordinates they could follow and go to be picked up or perform tasks/acts they must send videos or pictures and comments to a certain link that may or may not be used as a database and may be consented to become accessed by others, such as a porn site or explicit app of anonymous people to help fund the deed. Think of it like the good deed of real people playing it forwards...you know, to help people express themselves and the way the mods help make them feel. It's a bit of a Wellbeing service really isn't it, help with stress relief and easing the pressures in life. The disposable phones and anonymosity are naturally forms of protection for the public sector, as are the old skewl notes and sending to unregistered devices to bounce uploads from. Obviously no ID is also a form of extra security for the surely many willing participants in the novel stress relief and feel good cause service. They say everyone has a number of doppelganger that look like them globally so a random face shouldn't be a safety risk concidering how vastly different people can look, as the entire cosmetics and fashion industries are fundamentally built upon aren't they, transforming people to look completely different. If people lose their unregistered task phones or choose to give them away, the anonymosity is heightened and you can't be fairly held responsible for people choosing to participate in a random voluntary feel good life and culture study. Controlled studies perhaps are controlling, but if the individual members of the public are in control then the individual is self representing, not representing a business or any other individual for example. If people enjoy it then clearly there is public demand for it, which constitutes a minority group which has rights in their beliefs in freedoms to express themselves and rights to cherish memories and cultural experiences. Some groups of people may take offence, but others won't be offended. There is then the obvious dominance of discrimination by what is essentially larger groups, which is then a minority discrimination crime, and a form of a group trying to control another group/society and infringe upon them, which there are many examples of despite there being laws of a democracy that are supposedly to protect minority groups and individuals from such oppressions. The representation of British Citizens then has become a protection of certain groups but not others. The notion of what is acceptable in society has become what is acceptable by certain groups as if they have a herd mentality. Ironically such groups tend to derive from or have beliefs which are often forms of conditioning and come from other societies that aren't actually native to britain. They have just been here a long time, which is akin to an invasion or influx of people of certain groups who try to convert people and trick them into joining their groups for the purpose of dominating with vast numbers, essentially over populating and targeting the natives or other groups to impose their groups wills over others and calling it a fair representation when it often isn't. True Democracy and equality are somewhat illusions, as is freedom in expression and protections of minority groups. You can see this with the millions of alternative medicine users such as medicinal and recreational cannabis, the crimes against societies users as infringing on their rights to choices in their health care and medicines of their rights to options have become criminalised wrongfully and illegally in the very legal system that contradicts it's own law additions targeting certain members of society. Mostly those who don't or aren't able to go to pubs or don't like alcohol so much, but do enjoy cannabis and those who enjoy or want to stay in rather than go out, perhaps because of safety concerns and law discriminations/hate crimes against some. It seems very much more of a hypocrisy and excuses to satisfy targets/targetted crimes and commission incentives it seems evidently obvious. You can also see the wrongful criminalisation of enacting your legal rights to choosing your medicine, the money spent trying to criminalise and punish people for it, the commission incentives, the prison contract incentives, the semi privatisation of the police force, certain groups behind the scenes throughout the legal system, the business related contracts even in the NHS for rebates and tariffs if drug sales targets are or aren't met, and the fact that people can produce their own medicine much more affordable and safely as is in their welfare and can be in their own best interests than the illegitimate illegal laws that prohibit them and push people into taking risks, potentially funding crime rings, making the produce more expensive and likely having to buy from or otherwise depend upon the those who likely have ties to that same group/s that made the substances illegal and non taxable, raising the risks of corruption and risks of crime related activities aswell as risk public safety in contradiction to the protections services purposes, and waste alot of public money, ruin people's lives, exacerbate health conditions and add to the cost of medicine and cost of living burden, aswell as inhibit tourism industries aswell as being substances of no more risk of adverse effects than the 'legal' alternative pharmaceuticals in which it likely certain people have shares in or receive some form of personal gain from, essentially misrepresenting the public and filling people with perpetuate misinformation to influence public opinion to the detramental of millions of victims of societal persecutions of those who don't know any better whom are largely tricked and victims themselves of the disinformation smear tactics by those who may be victims themselves of the same tactic to be fair. Some will say about clinical trials of cannabis produce use but the truth is millions of users globally are testament to the validity, as is the science supportive of, so how did it become criminalised, and why should it remain criminalised? The true crime is criminalising cannabis products and not the use of cannabis. They have even gone do far as to call cannabis by different names as categories to ramp up prosecutions/persecutions to as high as 15 years as a class B substance. The authorities must be made to reform those laws to stop the crimes against the public. There are many examples I could give of the cultural persecution crimes, hate crimes, criminalising non crimes, targeting certain people crimes and laws that are in fact crimes that shouldn't even be passed as laws let alone enacted and enforced. Even the Internet defined as the world wide web has become censored to extreme, controlling, and invasive extents for no valid reasons, just excuses for some to control things and secure themselves fundings essentially as though trying to convert people to some form of a very very extreme religion or group and authorities aren't doing anywhere near enough to retain and restore peoples freedoms and rights. People really need to recognise the extent of the abuses, neglects, failings in duties and the crimes and atrocities being enacted against us... The conditioning and crimes against us suits certain groups though I suppose...
Stunning whip bro ! Looks stunning in that colour too. That’s def an OG worthy of the channel. Legendary motor bro ! Respect to the owner stunning ! Peace
Loved my pulsar but the gearboxes where like glass, I went through 2 gearbox's and one engine from melted piston. damn intercooler on top of engine. I had a full mongoose exhaust 286 bhp, back in the day I loved that car sounded awesome.
Proper blast from the past. I loved these cars but went down the Subaru route as they were so rare. Friend of mine had one running 600+ and that was in the late 90's. Nothing could touch it 👍 Great vid Jaime and congrats on the 250k 👍
Again just keep me and my love for cars and more so hatchbacks bro thank you. You keep me coming back with all the amazing cars ya'll get over in the UK. I wish I could have you in my Scion tC. It's a fun daily driver and watching this video makes me want to keep pushing my build on my tC. Again thank you for the amazing content bro!
Great video Jamie. I love the owners cars really shows some thought and inspiration not to mention some of the DIY efforts. Would be lovely to see a Mazda 323 4X4 Turbo on the channel, a friend had one about 20years back which was tuned to hell and shot flames.
Ive been in one with similar power 4 man up, went round a bend that I usually take at 40mph max, this thing dug in that same corner going 70mph+ and it didn't even squirm. They are an insane car especially for that time period.
Lovely to see this beautiful restored example, a few things I wouldn't have personally but this brings back some great memories. I nicknamed them, the 'Go-machine'. Well done chap!
You channel is exactly what the car community is... you filming all sort of cars not just super cars that are fast already ... This for me in my opinion is a lot more what the car community is mad cars creations of their own owners usually not so powerful cars that are turned into weapons and it's cool to see what people can do
Seen this car at Santa pod in October 2016. Was in the show & shine, parked up next to my ep3. Can't believe how different it looks now. Matt you have done an awesome job. 🤩🤩🤩
@@Jap_obsessed still got the ep3 you wanted to buy off me 🤩🤩 & thank you for your help at the show & shine. Was hoping to catch you at another show. 🤩🤩
Yeah mate these are hard to find now more so a good one so I'm planning on cutting off the roof .... Also going to be cutting the floor frames out and welding in a lamp post to replace those I'm also weighing up cutting the boot hatch off and knocking up a set of barn doors made from pallets .... The thing is though it matters not how rare a vehicle is or how many remain running on OR off the road once you become the owner of anything at all you are literally free to do with it as you like
when I had mine my mate had a cossie at the time and he said the exact same thing, more refined than his, he also liked how it drove, wish I still had it
Years ago this was the alternative to the Ford Escort Cosworth. Standard about 5.5s. Should easily do low 4's with 340bhp. Needs one ot those 14K sequential shift boxes!
My cousin james had a sunny gti-r. He got it as a non runner. Had no engine just the running gear but gear box was destroyed. He rebuilt the gear box with quafe gear set and bought a full built sr with 2.2 hks stroker kit. Hks cams full ported and gas flow head hks3037 turbo was runing almost 530hp but the car overtook his talent and he put it in to trees and it cought fire he said that he hit a deer to insurance company and ut forced him off the road. Insurance money payed for a nice classic v5 2 door impreza wrx sti type r was a dark grey also got smashed in to trees not far from where he wrote off the gtir. Now he drives a mondeo titanium x 2.5t.
I was just thinking about this car a week ago and thought I'd love to see one on OG! Love the original but this one is proper sweet. Big up to the owner, nice bloke, great car.
That's a stunning Pulsar! I got to drive a standard one 20 odd years ago and it was a game changer for me , I can't imagine what this one feels like. 👌
Love the variety of cars on the videos. I watch them all! It really does not matter what you drive, the appreciation and dedication into what people do to there own cars is great. Love the humbleness, anyone can decat a 4 cylinder VAG and remap it (Not being rude) but it's when you see the variation on here it's great!
before today I've never seen or heard of a Nissan pulsar, but I love it. It sort of reminds me of a mashup of the late 80's/ early 90's civic hatch, and a Subaru forester.
This Channel gets better and better like. My cousin had a black Pulsar when i was young and it was crazy. Was running 280bhp and spitted crazy flames. He had to sell it when he went back to the army! I want to hunt it down and buy it 😍🙈😭
GTi-R when you saw them on the start line at Santa Pod, these always won. You needed BIG power to catch these down the 1/4mile. This particular example is suffering from having 17's, these go so much matter with lightweight 15's. Just suits the gearing better.
I'm still in shock...all these turbo cars fwd and awd have a slower 0-60 than my Daily Civic Si.. 5.5 seconds 0-60 in my Si with an exhaust and base map. These videos give me a new respect for the little K20Z3 Civic Si 8th gen. Should be fun with a little Nagasaki noisy boi on it
It's probably because the turbo is either bigger or set to come in at a higher pressure, so after he hits 60 it would take off maybe. N in first n second if he floors it might just spin up. Plus he said was taking it easy cuz don't wanna abuse it.
Weapon. My mate had 2 of these over the years, one of them was 460 bhp what an absolute machine it was. Guy who owned a local body shop had a lambo an they raced up the bypass, it got destroyed by Gareth little pocket rocket 😳😂
Great car Matt, a lot of hard work an passion went into that, awesome car man! Jamie, great video, keep up the great work man, you Calvin and Ricky doing a great job in the UK man!

I like how Jamie keeps looking at the Speedo to make sure he's within the speed limit. Very diligent.
This had the quickest 0 to 60 in the car stats in the back of max power magazine back in the day
That takes me back. What a magazine!!!

Always loved these car when I was younger and this is epic!
A Car that will never get old !! that front scoop says it all !!
Stunning whip bro ! Looks stunning in that colour too. That’s def an OG worthy of the channel. Legendary motor bro ! Respect to the owner stunning ! Peace
Erm ok
Right bro ok bro sound bro
This channel is on point!!! Don’t loose your way like the other one has.
Which other one?
@@nicovanduin1553
Llf? ,now spoilt the channel chasing them stupid games, youtube got to his head 😭 👎 😭
My late dad used to have one of these in red when I was growing up, still to this day my favourite car I’ve ever been in
LLF is good but the "newcomer" OG is my fave car youtuber of all time dont get me wrong massive love for man like ricky but Jamie has me gassed 👊
Cool old school car.
Lovely to see this beautiful restored example, a few things I wouldn't have personally but this brings back some great memories. I nicknamed them, the 'Go-machine'. Well done chap!
Love the pulsar, owned one about 12 years ago. Out of all the cars I've owned its the one I regret selling the most.
Without doubt best car reviewer on youtube currently. 👌🏻🔥🔥
12:19 a quick look to the roof to see what u can grab i seen it hahaha
😂
Reach up and grab the jesus rail 🤪
Jamie has such a passion for cars and he describes the way he feels about each car very well. Keep it up.
You channel is exactly what the car community is... you filming all sort of cars not just super cars that are fast already ... This for me in my opinion is a lot more what the car community is mad cars creations of their own owners usually not so powerful cars that are turned into weapons and it's cool to see what people can do
Anyone noticed how Jamie does the concerned watching the clock Speedo while in a real raw man/machine working together..great 👍
What a decent guy, amazing build also😍
Jamie on it with the car content , putting other you tubers to shame 🤣 another sick video 🔥🔥
Seen this car at Santa pod in October 2016. Was in the show & shine, parked up next to my ep3. Can't believe how different it looks now. Matt you have done an awesome job. 🤩🤩🤩
Thanks mate
@@Jap_obsessed still got the ep3 you wanted to buy off me 🤩🤩 & thank you for your help at the show & shine. Was hoping to catch you at another show. 🤩🤩
Got three in the shed, big fan of these "Baby Godzilla's" as many do not realise how good they are.
You can tell the owner loves this good to see and well done as its not every day you see one 👌
Cannot beat a pulsar absolute beast of a car. Always wanted one! Awesome video as always jamie much love 💕
Yeah mate these are hard to find now more so a good one so I'm planning on cutting off the roof .... Also going to be cutting the floor frames out and welding in a lamp post to replace those I'm also weighing up cutting the boot hatch off and knocking up a set of barn doors made from pallets ....
The thing is though it matters not how rare a vehicle is or how many remain running on OR off the road once you become the owner of anything at all you are literally free to do with it as you like
Mate love your dash and digital dials what a great job 👍
My dad had one running 400bhp in the late 90s/early 2000s... went through 5 gearboxes
Was gonna say the same thing I sold my 450hp pulsar after its 6th gearbox you dont measure mpg you measure gearboxes per mile
@@lukecowell7516 💯😂
@@lukecowell7516 that must have been fucking rapid
Same, 3rd gear blew on mine when I went above the 350bhp mark
Similiar to Scoobies, the gearboxes are a weak link
Watching the fun these two had is what cars are all about.....can't see my kids enjoying these times I'm Tesla's etc sadly.....God I miss the 90s
Such a iconic car, this one is an amazing example
You need a Renault 5 Turbo on the channel next to keep the old school theme going 😉
90s Hatchs and 80s Hatch are dope. Civic EF9 is such a gem
One of the most underestimated nissans if you ask me 😂.....so refined
agreement 100%
It is too slept on. I love those things
when I had mine my mate had a cossie at the time and he said the exact same thing, more refined than his, he also liked how it drove, wish I still had it
Unrivalled content. Winners never quit and quitters never win.
I love the look of his break Caliper
These are one of my favourite cars, that colour suits it nicely
Probably my favourite car TH-camr. No cap. Keep it up..!
Good cars make good videos. Good owners make great videos! Excellent vid mate. Top owner too, love the enthusiasm
I remember being overtaken by one of these leaving chatsworth house after watching the RAC Rally in 1992 .it was an Alcatel car . Awesome jamie
Such a clean build! Looks awesome!
Years ago this was the alternative to the Ford Escort Cosworth. Standard about 5.5s. Should easily do low 4's with 340bhp. Needs one ot those 14K sequential shift boxes!
Yeah looks like about 280hp
Jamie you just gave me a flashback to me and my cuz racing the GTI-R vs my tuned FTO. The good old days. Keel up the good work brother 👊🏾
One of The best 90' hatchback cars 😍😍
Mad !!!! Old school Retro Turbo pocket Rocket.
Close to tapping out lol that fella was flying then can tell with the glances st the speedo. Old skool legend ✌
before today I've never seen or heard of a Nissan pulsar, but I love it.
I want to hunt it down and buy it 😍🙈😭
I have a turbo from a Pulsar gti-r gr.A...is kind a rare on this days. Nice car BRO. Congrats from Portugal.
GTi-R when you saw them on the start line at Santa Pod, these always won. You needed BIG power to catch these down the 1/4mile.
This particular example is suffering from having 17's, these go so much matter with lightweight 15's. Just suits the gearing better.
Always nice to see the builds owners put their heart into 👌
Can't believe I've only just found out that he was on here, hopefully he'll be back soon for more tyres 😂
Another Phenomenal Car All The Best Everyone.
I'm glad you got this on your channel mate. I love seeing the old classics because I'm a big fan. Loved it👍
Weapon. My mate had 2 of these over the years, one of them was 460 bhp what an absolute machine it was. Guy who owned a local body shop had a lambo an they raced up the bypass, it got destroyed by Gareth little pocket rocket 😳😂
Blast from the past. When I saw one some years back it turned my head that's for sure. Great video!
Jamie , i don't think you realize how legendary this car is saw it in your eyes!!
Great car Matt, a lot of hard work an passion went into that, awesome car man!
Jamie, great video, keep up the great work man, you Calvin and Ricky doing a great job in the UK man!
12:16 - Jamie looking for a handle to grab onto 😂😂
One of my favourite awd cars. Wish they come with a new version with that nostalgic look
That is a beauty of a car, hats off to him
When you get a 340hp mini beast car into 5th after ragging our 4th you know your going fast.
“I was about to tap out” 😂.
Total Legend, very impressed seeing this here.
