No drama or crash involved. Just an example of driver entitlement over "lesser" road users.
Having already forced the cyclist ahead to mount the pavement in order to avoid a collision, this self entitled motorist seems to expect me to do the same. That isn't a little wave of apology for making a mistake in just getting himself in the way and the parp of irritation isn't an apology either.
I do not condone, and do not myself cycle on the pavement. Here, it was an emergency option if he had speeded up, but there was enough of a gap to get past with no more than a slight risk of a long, deep scratch to bodywork from a bar end. Maybe I should have just stopped and waited for him to back up. Once a few cars had followed up behind me he would have been forced to yield, but I really didn't want the confrontation and settled for a muttered "Dickhead".
