Corey has to be one of the greatest vocalist/singer out there. It’s not easy going from harsh to cleans. Wearing a mask nonetheless. Some ppl can’t even sing properly without a mask. Lol
Especially that fucking suddenly! The transition from the think hard you bastards part to the chorus wound up sounding funky but like in a totally acceptable way lol. He really just rolled right through the giant Change in registers. Man is a fucking legend
Burton C bell had trouble and lost his abilities to do deep, harsh vocals and his cleans, well..... Chad Gray got better. Corey's been the best for years doing it, sure, he lost his cleans in 2005, but gained them back
2:10 = WTF HE UNLEASHED THE BEAST. As a singer and a fan wow im proud. 50 yo. He sound better than ahig corey and even vol 3. More raw and brutal. But Jim is fckn up the performance lol. Im no worries though he fckked up the sulfur solo (1st time live) in front of me and nailed it 1 day later when i sae them so. New song, new stuff
The spotlight on V-man at 2:05 is really great - his work on TESF was amazing and glad to see him getting well deserved attention for it. Paul would be proud 🤘
Whoever was in charge of the sound in this recording did a phenomenal job, you can even hear Craig’s samples of the members woo-ing in the chorus that are very faint in the studio version of the song.
Jim is the f$@$ing man. The way he writes and structures songs is incredible. After Paul died Jim took on most of the music writing weight. His performances are always epic as well.🤘
The sound is amazing!!!! Can clearly hear all the members playing. I love all slipknot songs, some more than others, but Solway Firth and this one, by far have blown me away. Constantly on replay
0:16 That's so cool watching traditional grip being use in $! I'm not familiar with Tortilla Man music background but he obviously has had training with it. I've always loved the rudimental drumming influence in $ that started in full in Vol. 3, and early signs can be heard in the kettle drum solo in Metabolic.
They are a lot older and not gaining much of a new fan base like they used too, it's a shame but it just happens they do make consistently good music though which is good but they will never be same because that's just how things work
@@jackwilkinson500 this song was #4 on TH-cam music and a when it was released solway firth(?) was #1 for a day or two I think they’re still super relevant
@@kuntryboiashton2289 I dont think it would be quite right to give new percussionist a number just yet but drummer and bassist have put in the effort and I think deserves it
Idk, I feel like the 0-8 are all we need, the point of not giving them a number isn’t to say they aren’t real members, it’s to show respect for the previous members, because they can’t ever really be replaced, Vman Jay and Tortilla are all great additions to the band, but they aren’t numbered because they aren’t Joey Paul or Chris, well I don’t know how the whole Chris thing is, since he left with bad feelings, but for vman and jay, they don’t have numbers out of respect
@@lfcynwa9655 I doubt it, apparently he was the only sober one during the iowa era so i really don't he'd pick up a coke addiction in his 50s. He probably just lost a lot of weight during quarantine. He's been losing weight since the gray chapter era so it's definitely possible with some dedication
Gotta agree but also disagree, I think it’s just the dying song honestly cause when ever I go back to The Chapel Town Rag, it just sounds so solid, thick and crisp, but then this song for the studio version feels and sounds a bit flat
When is Slipknot going to get around to playing songs from WANYK and the end so far, mostly WANYK? I've been watching them play the same songs for close to 2 decades now. The same track list over and over. Slipknot's been my favorite band since '99, but they gotta mix it up a bit. Slipknot will go down as the greatest band of all time for me. It's like they were created for me! Long live the Knot.
