- Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock even the score for Team World after Friday night's doubles against Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at Laver Cup 2022.
Welcome to the official Laver Cup TH-cam channel. The event takes place every year, the second week after the US Open and the location rotates between Europe and the rest of the world cities. The sixth edition of Laver Cup will be held in Vancouver’s Rogers Arena from September 22-24, 2023.
Team World are the reigning champions after defeating Team Europe for the first time, in London. Each team is comprised of six players and led by a team captain, who is a legend of the sport. The captain of Team Europe is Bjorn Borg and the captain of Team World is John McEnroe. Three of the six players qualify based on their ATP singles ranking as of the Monday following the French Open. Three are “captain’s picks”, announced by the start of the US Open. Each match win is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday and three points on Sunday. The first team to reach 13 points out of a total 24 points available wins Laver Cup. If the points are tied at 12:12 at the end of all matches, a fifth match (Decider) on Sunday is played to determine the winner.

One of the saddest things about getting older is watching your favorite athletes from when you were a kid retire. Losing Serena and Roger to retirement has done that for me! Once Nadal and Venus retire, that’s it 😢
Djokovic is still active 🎉
@@user-gi5gu9rd9dLmao barely. Literally just lost to a 20 y/o with basically no grass experience in the wimbledon final
@@vision8899alcaraz is amazing wdym
@@vision8899 Yeah but that 20 yr old would beat anyone else on the tour
A 20 year old with a Grand Slam and World #1 under his belt already lmao@@vision8899
While Federer stayed in tour I felt that I am still young and I am 41 already the day he announced his retirement was one of the most terrible days in my life 😭😭
I think that’s how Rafa was feeling too
I think that’s how Rafa was feeling too
1 year later…how has it already been a year since Roger retired 😢 Who’s come here to watch Roger’s last match after a year? 🙋🏻♂️ It’s already 2023 Laver Cup…I hope to see Roger playing another match at the Laver Cup sometime in the future again.
Me, I’m stil crying, seeing a tennis legend leaving, no one had better skill than him (maybe some) he was my all time favourite player, I hope his legacy lives on! ❤❤❤
The fact that they hardly practiced for the match and being in the twilight of their career. They absolutely bossed the match , I swear they could have easily won that match
I dont think rafa is in twilight of career
@@BinaryRex18 Hes gonna retire next year
@@michaelhe3138 he might be in the twilight now but he was the player of the year in 2022
Nadal looked very nervous. Federer definitely played a lot better in this match.
cant blame him@@Bock75
Its’ 2023 now, still cried after watching this moment 🥲. Thank you Roger, truly a Legend 🏆 🎾
I did not have the courage to watch this moment for 2 years and finally mustered the courage to watch it today! What a player and ambassador to not just tennis but all of sports !
same here, it took me quite a while to process what happened, I don't really have celebrity idols or stuff, it's mostly been just this guy all my life, watched him since I was like 3, there has been no better feeling, so it was difficult to digest his retirement, finally coming to terms with it, Happy retirement Roger, we miss you!
1:01 even in his last match and not moving very well and looked a litle bit rusty did a magic shot ... pure talent 😢
I miss this legend so much. Tennis hasn’t been the same since he left.
8:20 it’s amazing! and made me cry!❤
A year after, watching again, Federer looked healthy even if limited in mobility, proud to see him finish healthy, win or lose ❤
The sportsmanship here is so strong, they are such good examples
This is my first time coming back to this match.. because I just had to wait for the heartache to leave ❤ love you RF
1:24 On his final day, still producing magic
impossible not to tear up no matter how many times you've watched this before
Never give up raz ols sir tribute for you legend of tennis goat of tennis
U will never be forgotten, Federer....
Thank you Maestro for all the memories. It’s not only about lifting trophies and winning championships. It’s about emotions. Rivalries and tough losses even strenghthened the bond with his fans. Hope to see him soon for some exhibition matches. He was born for dancing on a tennis court. Cheers Sir, every hit was a witness of greatness.
Don’t know why I started crying 5:45 onwards.. 😢😢 You’ll be badly missed Legend ❤RF❤
Since Federer officially retired tennis is not anymore the same thing. Miss him.
This is the highlight of Tiafoe career.
We want the full video of farewell 🫶
The Greatest Of ALL TIME
I’m still crying, seeing a tennis legend retire, he was my favourite player, his forehand, his backhand, his touch 😢 I hope his legacy lives on!❤❤❤
This Team Europe is outstanding.
When we saw Federer and Nadal crying 😭
As the commentator said :
"we say goodbye to Roger Federer, the finest we've ever seen.."
I don't care about numbers.
true numbers absolutely aren t everything and fed is the most gifted tennis player ever, but he ain t the best
Please upload a video of all mid match discussions of team europe for this match, they are really interesting!
I was there and I’ve never experienced an atmosphere like it, unreal seeing my 4 favourite players ever
I was there too, it was magical, I've always wanted to see Roger playing live and seeing him for the first time on his final match was the most beautiful thing ive ever experienced
respect for what he has achieved
Thank you for everything my childhood legend

Remember it being a really fun match to watch and a appropriate goodbye for Roger
He'll always be the greatest tennis player of all times.
stopped watching tennis tournaments after this legend retired
miss u federer a lot especially during wimbledon
Coming here again, historical match!
3:19 Great presence of mind from Roger there. Knew very well Rafa would be going with the cross court forehand. Hence, he bent rightaway lol.
Sean eternooos!.🥹
Amazing video ❤
Nadal at 4:59 "bro these guys don't understand the script"
I cried
Rafa and Novak to play doubles in the Laver Cup 2024 for his retirement 😢🥺
I cant believe it's all over 😭😭😭
Dos héroes.
Sure, it was probably with a casual friend at a bar or a distant relative at a wedding, but we've all awkwardly been Tiafoe at 5:55 before.
I love laver cup
Team world won the match, but Federer won the world.
love it
Should have won this, they had it, but it was great nevertheless
I always cry when Rog cries. Carter interview, GSlam wins. Miss him.
I cried my ass off
3:48 you can really tell Rogers legs are gone, look at that labored running to a ball he’d have no trouble retrieving in his prime.
Rafa crying with him 😢💔
Nadal hair loss 😢😢😢
❤❤❤

Hola, bien guapo🤗💯‼️
What is the song name at the end
coldplay-viva la vida
1:26
rafa is so sad
finally, 3 years later
Very sad moment... I hope Novak and Rafa will keep the Big3 flag flying for some time yet
RIP GOAT
Idk why I noticed this but Federer has the same type of nose as my dad
Can't close out a match point in critical match and position, literally Roger in a nutshell. It's a bittersweet truth 🥲
Please. He closed out more critical matches than he didn't.

Oooooo
It is actually pathetic that two of the best players ever couldn’t beat Sock and Tiafoe.
I’d say they did well considering they had 0 prep & weren’t sure if either of them could even finish the match
Well considering the fact that neither of them are doubles specialists while sock has been ranked number two and won multiple grand slams, not so surprising. And Let's be honest, both of them were far, far from their best performances at that age
They Could, but that day they just Didn't. That's life, and this is just a glorified exhibition at the end of the day. Everybody knows who the real goats are, at their peak
parecen primos

Nadal Calvo
Retire Tiafoe
Sock andTiafoe were ridiculous in that match. Their behaviour and passion to win were for no reason.. They should have paid their respects instead..
After all, even together, they will never win 1/3 the titles of Nadal or Roger in their career...
It would be way more disrepectful to go easy on them.
On the contrary, the greatest honour and respect they could give Fed was the final professional match that he will ever play.
Roger will be happy in the fact that he and Rafa fought valiantly until the end against two class players.
No issue there.
Are you crazy?
