I return to this video often. One of the most talented drummers of his peers. He is one of the main reasons why ptv sounds like they do, the drums are as memorable as the voice. Really devastating the situation that has happened and rightfully forced him out the band.

I agree with both of you, unfortunate what happened I always looked up to Mike and loved his unique parts particularly using a single pedal. Ptvs new drummer Lionel Robinson is a fantastic player and probably has a somewhat similar style so I'd stay open minded. He was absolutely fantastic in letlive

@heckawesomefunnydude they're the way you tighten and loosen it so you can tilt the cymbal. DW makes them they have a lock on them so they're really useful
@NirvashZ DUDE! hahah i just got done tuning my snare and like the two lugs facing you we're so loose it was NUTS! hahah but i just put my throne up a little bit higher and it made the tuning difficulties go away haha

@mackie500 is not a black head its a hydraulic clear but the inside of the drum is kinda grey/black, its fucking sick man!!! and believe it or not mike make the wrap himself
@MarkusBeavis He was strongly influenced by jazz artists. Drummers in the early jazz era tilted there snares forward to accomodate the entire set-up of the kit, as well as the traditional style grip. I guess he just stuck with it. It's also ideal for taller people, and people who do a lot of snare work, like Mikey. Everyone has there own swag, find yours if you're a drummer.
