I went to high school with Adrianne, played on the soccer team with her. This was a horrific nightmare for all of us. Thank goodness David and Diane were stupid enough to talk , because they actually got away with it originally and probably would have stayed that way if Diane hadn’t bragged. Craziest part was that Adrianne’s memorial service was private and by invitation only because her murder was unsolved and the family didn’t want her killer to be able to attend. But guess who was on the invitation list? The soccer team and cross country team. And guess who was on the cross country team? David. He actually showed up to her memorial. Piece of trash human. Adrianne deserved so much better.

I watch a ton of true crime stories and Her story is actually one that has always stuck with me and hit me in the heart ever since I heard of who she was and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. Again I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. She seemed like such a beautiful soul. Hearing people talk about her I can see the way they light up in the eyes because she was so special and I can also see the pain in their eyes. She was so young and had her whole life ripped away from her all because one person couldn't handle it. It's heartbreaking! Hope your doing well! OK, I do to agree ....to an extent. If the 3rd party knows your not single then they are somewhat also to blame. It's not their fault you cheated, but if they are also in a relationship, then they are Cheating as well. I'm not victim blaming at all. I also think he may have sexually assaulted her and she just didn't have enough time to process the shock and tell someone. This is the 90s, and less women came forward then. He told Diane that he slept with her and all this happened to cover up him being such a pos. I don't think the victim was at all to blame. Maybe just in the wrong place, wrong time. If not her, it would've been another girl. I feel terrible for her family, but not for either of the couple or their families. Fuck them. They can rot there.

    A) I hate people who go after the supposed person their significant other is cheating with, rather than holding the S.O. accountable; B ) Graham acting as if prison is his personal self-improvement retreat without a word about how it relates to Adrianne and being all smug about how easily he's adapted, and C) You know you're true trash when the only person who is friends with you is the literal murderer of Selena. >_>

    • @p5eudo883
      @p5eudo883 3 ปีที่แล้ว +101

Point A is a sign of a weak-minded person. It's normal to be angry at both parties. But to put more blame on the person the SO is cheating with, than the SO, is a cop out. It's the SO who committed the greater betrayal. It's the SO that had the trust, and the obligation to be faithful.
It's easier to blame someone else. It's more difficult to face the reality that it's probably time to let go of the SO. It's easier to blame an outside source than to realize loyalty and trust was misplaced and betrayed.
The other party, if they knew the SO was taken, is also to blame, of course. But the SO is the greater betrayer. Exceptions being cases where the "intruder" is a family member, friend, or other person with an expectation of trust, like a religious leader, boss, mentor, or professor/teacher.

Yeah - no such thing exists. There are couples that really work well together, still love each other after decades and so on, but even they have their struggles, problems and fights. You can be in a great relationship, but it will never be perfect, because we are humans and none of us is without fault… I also completely agree that from the outside you just can’t know how a relationship really is. Of course if things are reall wrong, there are signs, but just because there are no red flags on first glance it’s certainly doesn’t make the couple perfect.

Your relationship is what matters and what your partner did is what you should be focused on. Sure you can be mad and upset, but don’t go after the person not in your relationship. Listening to the witness testimonies, the most telling one was from the friend who said Adrianne went home and she dropped her home herself.
The story may be that David might’ve hit on her or suggested a fling and Adrianne turned him down for obvious reasons. Since his pride was wounded, he decided to lie to Diane because he knew she would flip out. Diane reacted exactly the way he thought she would react and the only extreme way to fix the situation; David’s wounded pride and Diane’a jealousy, was to murder Adrianne.
It sounds far fetched but a lot of times, murderers will downplay or belittle the victim after they are deceased because of their anger/resentment towards them. David told the officers that his sexual encounter with Adrianne was less than exciting. If she didn’t have sex with him and turned him down, so it never happened, what’s another way to dirty her name after her death?
Make her out to be a sexual deviant and say that she wasn’t sexually entertaining.

Not only that, she started dating a guy at the Naval Academy on the sly without telling David and she told him too. He also didn’t say anything-that’s how “madly in love” he was with her. She manipulated all of them into not telling at first. This is why Jessica and the rest of the roommates and Diane’s boyfriend all got kicked out of the Naval Academy for honor violations. They also got an RF code on their DD-214’s from the Naval Academy blocking them from going into the Navy or Marine Corps because of their initial involvement in the cover up. Her new boyfriend actually tried to get into the Marine Corps, but got kicked out during basic over this. It took the Marine Corps to do the background check (back then it took 2-3 weeks, but they let you start basic) and when they found out what happened, they threw them out. I have a sneaking suspicion he never actually slept with Adrianne even.
Hear me out: He clearly is a manipulative sociopath. He literally blames everyone else for everything, and how he described the alleged sexual encounter? He probably lied about to his girlfriend to get a reaction out of her (upsetting people literally excites these types), then lured Adrianne out by saying "Can you reassure my girlfriend that we haven't slept together, she thinks we did." Getting dragged into some random couple's drama and being accused falsely would cause anyone, let alone a teenager with little experience, to be agitated and anxious like Adrianne's mother said she was after the call.
    The poor girl. 😢😢😢
Edit: I wrote this midway through. So glad I'm not the only one who saw this. Kendall, thank you for what you do. Your focus on the victims and their families, instead of the killers, is what this world needs more of. ❤️

This case leaves me with so many questions. The fact that David didn't drive her home and her friends casual sex like that would be unlike her leads me to believe that they didn't actually have sex. But if they didn't have sex, why did she lie to her boyfriend about who called that night? Why did they kill her if they didn't have sex (not that that's a good reason)? I really don't know which one is more evil, David or Diane either. I read somewhere that David had anger issues so bad that his mom moved out of the house to get away from him but Diane seems off her rocker.

    • @guadalupemontoya1819

He probably did have sex with someone, he just used the pretty popular girl as a cover up for the real person he did. Or David never actually gave a name and Diane had already been jealous of Adrian and put those words in his mouth and he went with it. He could have also been obsessed with her sexually because she is the opposite of Diane. Their motive is just their obsession for each other and their jealousy of someone who wasn’t toxic like them.
And Adrian might have given the name of someone her boyfriend knew creeped her out instead of giving him the wrong impression of her relationship with David. She wouldn’t want to have to explain why some random guy from her High School was calling her.

Cold Case ( the fictional series) had an episode based on this case, the only difference ( aside from the names) was that they got away with it for many years at first. I thought I'd heard this story before as I was watching this video, but no, I'd only heard the fictional story, I'm glad irl they were caught sooner.

That couple certainly were a match made in hell. Regarding “purity” and “committing murder”. I wouldn’t be surprised if David told his girlfriend that he had sex with Adriana, just to make his girlfriend jealous. I have relatives in Texas, younger than I, and I have read crime articles about some crazy behaviours from high schools in that state involving students murdering other students. Really?!!!!

It is horrible if you are Behavior Specialist and HR Manager. You sit in meetings, watch people, and make notes. My General Manager used to come to me afterward and I would give her a report and I always made 95% success rate. The amount of increases I got annually was mind-blowing. I just started working there and told the GM the Accountant is stealing money. Guess what???
After the audit, it was determined that he stole a total of 6000 000 plus.

    • @kellydrake6530

I believe that Diane got jealous from David driving Adrianne home a few times after practice and maybe her own insecurities she kept accusing him of cheating so maybe one day he said yes just to maybe break free from her. I think it’s possible they may have been flirtatious with each other because Adriannes friends said she was a flirt. However I do believe that Diane is the reason why Adrianne is dead she put the idea into David’s head.

“If you kill someone you’re not erasing what has happened.” Powerful statement that in this moment many might agree with but will likely change their tunes should that someone be exceptionally small and in a warm cocoon like space. I’m being vague because heads might explode when they figure it out.
