You're a fantastic tier, better than I am and I'm glad I came across your videos, thanks. Something that you could use though, if you want to keep heads smaller with squirrel: When you mount a wing on a classic salmon fly, you cut the feather fibres flush a small bunch at a time and then let a drop of varnish soak into the cut ends, you don't actually cover the cut ends with thread. Probably needs a drop of super glue for squirrel cos they're slippery feckers 😅. Then, once dry, adrop of Veniards black cellire (better than the multiple black nail varnishes I've bought (classic looks in boots chemist each time)). Final coat is a slightly thickened Sally Hansen Hard As Nails and let the fly dry with the head pointing vertically up. You could say, balls to that and you wouldn't be wrong 😅. Just a different option?
Nice job Michael and tell you what that body looked pretty nice even before you put the black floss on. Have a wee look at it the green floss was spaced brilliant.
