What is the bead made of , plastic , tungsten?
@@jwgitface the bead is brass
Cheers , I defo give them a try.
Well tied Sir and thank you! 👍🐳
@@stuartduke999 thanks
Great work Michael! 👍
Thank you, Michael, great video. I am really into North Country Spiders right now and am tying up the different variations, all in size :14. I have gone "minimalist", and loving it. Thanks again.
@@stillwater62 thanks 😊
Can anybody see the hook size in the video. It is obscured. Could only see the quantity check box.
It's a size 10
Ordered 8 of these off Michael, the tying is superb,I will need to order the same amount of Irish Salars to go on the dropper. Hopefully the waters over here in Scotland will get rain to give these boys a swim,I’ve no doubt at all these flys will lift a fish or two this summer when the grilse arrive.
Michael could I order 6 of the grim reaper flys from you,3 in size 8 and 3 in size 10. Please
@jimmythefish-cart yes that should be no problem at all. Can you send me an email at michaelcurrie85@yahoo.co.uk And we can discuss further
Nice flea pal. Seen u get a few Rushdies on it on yer vids. Red is good all year in my experience - Red yellow and black combo does me well on a big flea in spring.
First class Michael
Thanks John 👍🏻
Nice wee buzzer mate 👍
Thanks
Thanks for this Michael, after watching some of William's videos I was wondering about this pattern. Tight lines.
Glad you enjoyed it
Have a few in the box Willie walker showed me
It's not one I've fished before ut years plenty of good things about it. Plan of fishing it this season 🤞🏻
Nice fly micheal, what scissors do you use ? I'm looking a good decent pair, thanks in advance.
Cheers, I will get you sorted with a pair 👍🏻
Thanks micheal
Great flies for sea trout 👌🏻
Thanks
Very nicely tied Michael.
Thanks Melvyn 👍🏻
Michael you provide some excellent coneheads flies to the North Esk I hooked a beauty on such a fly when all else failed . They are similar to the Snaelda but not quite the same. If you had some for sale I would buy them otherwise I think a lot of fishermen would be very grateful if you did a demo !
Thanks for your kind comments. If you want anything tied up feel free to contact me via my email michaelcurrie85@yahoo.co.uk And we can discuss further details 👍🏻
Have you ever tyed up a Glenwherry black? A old fella I know used to talk about them but could never find a pattern.
If you have the pattern for it can you forward it on and I'll tie a few
@michaelcurrieflyfishing6870 Here's the pattern the Glenwherry black, Tail - Black lough Neagh duck flank feathers hackled and tied back. Silver wire, Body- black fur dubbing from a Glenwherry hill rabbit, Black hackle palmered from a Battery cock, Top wing- several strands of Black and white tail fibres from a Glenwherry sheep dog. Hope this helps. Perhaps you can make a video of it, this fly fishes best low and slow at night.
Very good tying of a very good fly, know it better a Glenwherry Claret use it on dropper and Glenwherry Butcher on point 👍🙂
Thanks, and glad you enjoyed it, you'll have to send me the patterns for the other two. I'll maybe do a video of those 😉
Very nice fly. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. Cheers!
No problem at all, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Nicely done
Thank you! Cheers!
I like it! I like the black at the front, it darkens the fly down. Be a good backend fly! Did you come up with that yourself?? 🧵 🎣👍🏻
Cheers. Yes, it's one I've been using this season. Seems to work quite well when the river is clearing up after a spate. The first day used it I came down a pool with my standard go to flies and never touched a fish, stuck this on the dropper and took another run through the pool. Hooked 2 fish both on this!! That sold it for me 🤣
@@michaelcurrieflyfishing6870 bingo! 🤣😁🧵🎣
thats a banger mate, great job....
Cheers and glad you enjoyed it 👍
Lovely 🤙
Thank you! Cheers!
Lovely tying! Will give these a go. Is there any particular conditions or time of the season to use these?
Thanks, I find them better for me from about late April/May onwards, once the LDO's have finished. And I would fish them in various sizes throughout the season after that
Great dressing . Looking forward to giving this a go. Thank you
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video
Nice little nymph Michael ever try cdc for the hackle 😊
Thank, glad you enjoyed the video
Very enjoyable watching your videos Michael. A nicely done demo of the Snaelda. Many thanks. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching 👍

Very nice and good to see you back again 👍
Cheers, gonna aim for 2 videos a week in between orders and making website stock for next season

Great fly ! What size wire are you using ?
Cheers, its .3mm wire
Up the haters
🤣
Enjoyed the video thanks, simple and straightforward, cheers
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it 😀
Mike, lovely job, I shall be tying a few of those later today for sure. Regards from Senghenydd, Caerphilly,👍
Thanks 👍
Hi Michael, Really enjoy your video’s. Can you please tell me the overall length of the fly. Plus how do you fish the fly……have not tied many Snelda type flies because I feel There is not a lot of movement in the materials. When fishing with this fly do you ‘Move it’. Or just let it swing round.. Thanking you….Keep the video’s coming…….Tight Lines..👍👍👍
Bi Harry, glad you liked the video. Overall fly length is a out 50mm and generally I let the fly swing round itself in the current though in slower moving water I will hand line it a bit.
@@michaelcurrieflyfishing6870 hi Michael……Many thanks for you swift reply/advice. I will certainly be tying a few of this fly. Most certainly agree with your comment re Jungle Cock Capes.. I always buy best quality and end up…like you say….left with the bigger Size feathers so I am really pleased that you have found a way to use them.. Thanking you…….👍👍👍
Great fly Michael. Can you recommend any way to protect the rib. I had a fly destroyer after two fish on Sunday there. Rib just ripped and whole fly unravelled. Thanks.
Pretty much the only thing you cam do to protect the rib is counter rib the fly with either a fine wire or mono
@@michaelcurrieflyfishing6870 thanks Michael
Beauty
Thanks 👍🏼
Hi Michael, nice fly. Stupid questions here: how do you fish this type of fly? Like any nymph? Or as a wet fly? Or with an indicator? 🤔. Nice content here
I fish it as a wet fly, casting down and across the pool letting it swing round in the current. Occasionally in slower pools I will hand line it too. I hope this makes a bit of sense and glad you liked the videos
@@michaelcurrieflyfishing6870 thanks Michael for solving this mistery for me🙏🙈. Tight lines🎣
LOVELY footage . How is the fishing now ? 😉
I havent been in the Maine for a couple of weeks now but previously it was fishing well
Cracking video mate!
Cheers 👍
