This is amazing. I wonder if Skyline values just shot up because all of us grew up playing Gran Turismo, now we are all of age to maybe afford them.
I would say U.P. Garage in Washington is the best in the US. They have more years of experience and they are the ones Tommy calls to get help.
They would be the best if they had a higher standard for their finished product. They do fantastic work but they will basically take any job someone wants to pay them for. Tommy is the best because you can't pay him to do any less than a full bay restoration
@AUSTIN They’re ok. I spoke to them about getting my car done and insisted I keep certain OEM parts on my car. They wanted me to keep HICAS. That was the first thing that I got rid of when I got the car back in 2016. Drove in Germany and it handled like ass. They wanted me to keep the stock heat exchanger. It had gone to shit so I replaced it with an oil cooler and bypassed it. They said no ARP head studs because it would cause the head to lift. Just a lot of shit that I didn’t agree that lead me to not go there. One last thing, they didn’t want me to upgrade my oil pump gears to spline drive.
The best Skyline GT-R garage/shop in the United States is in Tacoma Washington

Sure he builds the cars but who brought Josh to the shop ? Tommy did ! And he never says he built the cars they built the cars as a company together !
Paint is also excellent, but not done by Josh. What about the logistics of running a shop like that, so employees like Josh aren't twiddling they're thumbs. Credit has to go to Tommy - that is fair.
Josh executes with precision. Tommy has the vision and sources the parts.
I can't do what Tommy does. I am a hands on just make it happen type of guy. The numbers and sourcing details are too boring.

Yes "New England Motors" in Connecticut ... they specialize in everything Honda
New England Motors will use your parts for their own builds, swap wheels so they have real wheels and you get the reps, and constantly change your invoice. Don’t let them ruin your car man.

Nice looking car I remember this back in the day am speaking about like in 1980 etc when I was in Japan, but I just cannot deal with the right hand drive I don't know why but it's just mess with me and I been around in other parts of the world but the right hand drive is just not good in a left hand drive country just my opinion.

Australians style is different though, it's not really JDM spec. Too much wack paint jobs and chrome parts on Aussie builds
You all didn’t get the point. Larry never said Tommy’s shop builds “the most powerful GTRs” or “the fastest GTRs” nor did Tommy! Tommy’s shop communicates their build quality as OEM+. They get rid of issues the OEM parts came with and “lightly modify” the cars using Japanese brands keeping the Japanese tuning culture in the soul of their builds. Of course they also use some other high quality modern brands but all hidden in the background and only when needed. Nissan OEM, NISMO, HKS and so on all Japan! The attention to detail goes so far even to the point that solely standing in front of his shop makes you feel like you are in Japan, as Larry mentioned. There is no “the best shop in the world”, it’s just a way of saying! Tommy’s shop is the best shop at what they do. Nothing more, nothing less. Larry does not have to explain all of this in so much detail as everybody has bit of brain capacity and should use it.
No one is saying that Australia does not build; the most powerful, the strongest, the fastest, the quickest and the craziest GTRs on this planet! …and fair play, Australia sure has some of the most experienced GTR builders with a lot of knowledge on how to build “go fast” parts.

This is not the best shop outside of Japan 😂 there are garages in New Zealand, Australia, UK etc that would wipe the floor with this garage. I'm sure they do good work, but it seems to be mainly off the shelf parts and Bolton's which every pleb mechanic seems to do in the US.
