Orgasmic birth is a real thing. It requires a more private setting obviously. Sometimes it just happens on its own (bodies respond to birth with orgasm). Not for everyone, also obviously.

Orgasm is pretty common during birth anyway, and orgasm is a very effective form of pain relief and helps relax various muscles. You don't have to do anything like that obviously, but the idea isn't actually that crazy.

I have so many questions as to how and why a woman thinks having a climax while giving birth is a good idea and also how she managed to convince her mother about it, or, more concerningly, if it was her mother who convinced her.
I think it is in some rare cases possible and it has happened but it isn't because you're having sex while giving birth it's just something that can happen in some cases from the stimulation- probably in the case of people who are very relaxed and it's going well
None of that is based off of any concept of safety, reality or being healthy.

Man, the weirdest thing I did in labor was see a stack of cups in the bathroom, in the room the put me in to watch my labor progress. I had peed in a cup every appt up until that point and I was worried it was going to be my last chance to pee, so I peed in a cup and put the lid on and set it in the specimen cupboard.
I figured they'd eventually ask me to pee in a cup and be upset if I didn't collect it so I thought I was being proactive.
Well I finished my business, came out and sat on the bed to get my gown on. I started having contractions really fast at that point so my husband called the nurse and I started going into active labor pretty shortly after. They wheeled me to the birthing room and I never did mention my urine, sitting without a label in their cabinet.
Lab rat (my job title is phlebotomist, but I handle a lot of urine too) here. That unlabeled sample probably gave someone a minor panic attack until they re-checked all their accessions and made sure nothing was missing...
Why take the effort to put it in the cabinet though 😂

I discussed an orgasmic labor with my husband because we were planning on laboring at home for as long as possible but the doctors decided a c-section at 37 weeks was safer so it wasn't necessary. I can see how that might be something to have a "to try" option because it intensifies contractions naturally but only at home where those activities are appropriate and for the love of all that's holy, not including either of your parents. Jeez 👀, the hell is wrong with people???

It's real, it's just normally something that happens spontaneously. I'm pretty sure trying to make it happen is at least informally crazy, but anyone who's had endometriosis can probably understand the idea behind it. When periods hurt that bad, you'll literally do anything to make it better.

If I'd had different people in my life for my last birth (like, a partner, for example), I could have tried for an orgasmic birth with that one. That birth felt very calm and was really just wonderful. But as it was, I had my parents, sister, my other 3 kids, my friend, my neighbor, and her 2 kids all in my living room with me. So, not the time for it. *laugh*

It's very rare and not generally achieved like that even by your partner afaik. It requires being extremely relaxed(as much as birth allows), and to be frank, specific stimulation of your INSIDES as the baby moves down. This is my understanding and also why it's so rare as very few people are able to orgasm from purely internal stimulation.
Orgasm during birth is not common, but has been reliably documented.
