I bought my first Louis Vuitton last year, as a wedding gift from myself to myself, a monogram MM Neverful. You're right, I was checking the pre-loved market and the prices were definitely more than what I would get at a boutique, which I did. My second purchase was a Felicie Epi Noir zipper pouch, which I love and bought it pre-loved. I use it constantly for my bills and receipts. I just love it as it's not assuming. My latest acquisition is a PM Epi Noir agenda. I just love it, can't wait to set it up. My LV journey so far.

I wanted an Alma bb in DE for the longest time, but even though it's one of their more 'reasonably priced' models I couldn't bite the bullet. So I bought a pochette accessories instead. I love it, but I still couldn't stop thinking about the Alma. So I recently managed to get one, which I should have done in the first place 🙄
You can send your bag to Louis Vuitton (the drawstring bag or any LV bag) or take it to the LV store and they can replace ALL leather… they CANNOT replace any of the canvas … it would be a lot cheaper than replacing a bag that you love!
Hi Autumn… I got my dream bags from LV store. These are Neverfull MM in DE, Neo Noe, Favorite MM and Speedy 30 in DE.. I am sooo happy with my purchases. And I just started buying in preloved market. I got 6 Noe bags in Epi, Mono and DA. I agree with you to purchase bags in good condition. Though I bought bags in their worst condition and I had it customized from my favorite artisan and it looks brandnew now. Love your videos.
Speedy has never been my cup of tea, but I have spent 10 years acquiring other LV bags and now regret not getting a speedy when they were much cheaper. They have almost doubled in price in 10 years.

I think "starter" bags are different for everyone. I didn't buy any classics at first. I started collecting about 5 years ago and my first bag was a preloved Alexander Wang Rockie. I still have it and have since added more. I was collecting older bags and honestly have never bought a luxury bag brand new. To be honest, I'm glad I collected that way because vintage is trending and the preloved prices have become ridiculous. I have two classic Speedys in the 30 size and one Neverfull. They're the only classics I own. I'm of the opinion that you should start with the bags that you really love.
I agree, especially with all the price increases. These days I feel lucky to have started buying luxury when I did. The prices have gone up so much and though my income has gone up too I'm just not willing to spend over $2K or $3K for a "regular" luxury bag. To me that's Chanel money, not LV OnTheGo money, for example.
I did the exact same thing: bought the Saleya PM in damier ebene, loved it so much I bought another in damier azur. Such a gorgeous tote, still annoyed that they discontinued it, even more annoyed that I sold both of them 😣

I always wanted a keepall but the universe and thrift gods gifted me with a pochette extender (I use it as a keychain) , a Noé (the LV/ French Co. Noé) and a Trocadero (I sold the Trocadero) as my first authentic LV pieces. I was also blessed that both the Noè and Trocadero were both made in USA.
I wanted Speedy as my first bag but knew it would drive me nuts having no shoulder strap. Got the bandolier after getting a NF and still salivating over the speedy look. But I don’t love the leather on the sides as much as if it were plain though for me, the pros of straps make it so worth it.
I've thought about having it all replaced at LV but decided not to because I'd lose the original date code which is stamped onto one of the exterior pieces of vachetta.
Bits n bags did a video about how she would improve on her luxury bags and make them better. I believe she tagged you to also do the video. I think this is a great idea and I would love to see you do this video!! 🤗
I started my LV collection in 2006, paused in 2009, sold off a lot of it in 2011 😭😭😭 started up again at the beginning of 2021. Really wish I still had everything I sold (except the costume jewelry, don't miss that).

My LV journey started w a knock off speedy 😳 I didn't understand much about the brand I got sucked into a website that sold "outlet" LV items. I honestly thought I was purchasing an authentic bag. It wasn't until I tried to sell it years later to rebag which of course rejected it. Lesson learned, I now have the real deal and love it so much!!

I had been wanting a Speedy for 16-17 years. I couldn’t justify it at the time since it was almost $500. I forgot about it until I started watching luxury handbag videos a few years ago but still couldn’t pull the trigger. Price by then had doubled or nearly doubled but felt more doable. However I became more of a cross body person and the Bandouliere had too high of a price point above a regular Speedy. I was still thinking of getting a regular Speedy but when I was looking at preloved I saw that the part where the lock is hanging from gets stretched out over time, which I didn’t like. Of course taking it off solves that problem. I started thinking about the Bandouliere again. The side leather pieces didn’t bother me. What sold me on it was the lock being on the the zipper pull itself as well as the double zip. And I ended up buying a 30 monogram in the boutique in mid September, before the price increases. I think the increases for the Speedy weren’t too bad when you compare them to the Pochette Accessoires or the Mini Pochette. I’m really happy with the it and I am looking forward to using it for years to come and I want it to patina.

I love the LV bags with pleats and am especially wanting the Turenne. I’ve worried about the pleats and if they tend to lose their shape. Have you found that to be an issue, and do you have any tips to avoid that?
I haven't had that problem. My bag is still pretty stiff because I haven't used it much. I love it but want to keep it new for as long as possible. I'd recommend looking at the condition of them on the preloved market to see how they wear.

It did go up but I think they still tend to be cheaper new than preloved. I could be wrong. It's been a while since I checked.

Someone calling it "very good condition" doesn't mean anything. You have to know what all of the flaws are that are specific to that bag.

I love the LV bags with pleats and am especially wanting the Turenne. I’ve worried about the pleats and if they tend to lose their shape. Have you found that to be an issue, and do you have any tips to avoid that?
I haven't had that problem. My bag is still pretty stiff because I haven't used it much. I love it but want to keep it new for as long as possible. I'd recommend looking at the condition of them on the preloved market to see how they wear.
