Thank you…somebody already picked it out of my inventory lol…I was too slow, but honestly, I like when customers find gold while digging…hopefully they’ll remember that sometimes they can find diamonds when they shop with me!
That ending up being a nice little collection buy!! I was watching the video and saw Howard the Duck 13 and was about to comment “don’t skip over that one!” But I see you picked it out!! Very nice John!!
Nice to see all those humor titles and Gold Key adventure series/TV shows. Usually it’s a cavalcade of just Marvel/DC titles with these random collections. I buy and collect a lot of cartoon titles myself. Nice finds! The Gold Key covers are painted. Just like paperback book covers. Really set their titles apart on the comic racks!
Thanks so much my friend! Yea, I agree, their covers really do look great. I did a trade yesterday for twilight zone comics too…so I’m going to keep the twilight zone comic as well. I think I’ll share them when I make my next comic pickup video. Thanks again for watching bro…I really appreciate you!
Gold Key was unique that it had painted covers on all its action titles, including Magnus and Solar. I always had a mixed reaction to them, because the cover art was so different from the interior art. I would have preferred to see covers with Russ Manning art on the Magus, for example, instead of the painted covers.
@ definitely! Those painted covers were amazing and often the internal art was a let down. Sort of like many of the Image titles in the 90s. Great covers with the insides new up and coming (sometimes not so rising stars lol) artists.
Shane, I did find that book- one of these days…I’d really like to connect with you- how do you know all of these books so we’ll? You are quite impressive…every time I see a message from you I get excited lol!
@@Johnthecomicguy Thanks John. I've been collecting for a long time, have about 50,000 comics in my collection. I don't collect much now as I live in Asia and am retired. I'll follow your youtube and let you know if i see more comics of note.
I store my favorites on the shelves so I have easy and convenient access to them to enjoy and reference. I store a majority of my books in plastic corrugated magazine boxes. Check out my “Favorite comic Bling” video to see where I store much of my comics!
Logans Run 6 is a key, think it has a first appearance of Thanos or Darkseid in it.

@@Johnthecomicguy Yeah, it is an unusual place for a story of a key character to be located, most don't know about it.
@@ShaneLars I’ll definitely keep my eyes out for another copy for the future. I really do appreciate you letting me know about it!

Those Star Trek and Lost in Space covers are great!
I agree! Those painted covers caught my eye immediately! Since I loved both of the original TV series, I had to keep them!
