As a native of Sleepy Hollow, I LOVE how you love the Headless Horseman!
Sleepy Hallow is an awesome place to visit around Halloween. Horsefeathers is a great pub to stop at.
@@MrRowdy55I’d love to visit!!
Thank you Ron and Justine for showing people that living simply can be very comfortable, fun and affordable! I hope my kids who are your age are watching this!
I'm so looking forward to your video tonight. I'm going to turn off the lights, light my scary pumpkin and enjoy every minute of it. Thank you for sharing with us.
I went to prom IN the 80s😂.
Gotta give the win to Ron for the shoulder pads and Dee Snider hair but love that dress!
Happy Halloween!
Great Halloween video. My daughter's toy poodle is staying the night with us and she keeps looking for the cat with mish mish meowing it's so funny and cute had to share.
I can't believe you guys don't like caramel. I just bought a new bag of Rolos. Mine are dark chocolate and salty caramel. Soo good! ❤
Sharon, I never cared for caramel until I bought the dark chocolate sea salted caramel squares from Boscov's candy counter last week. OMG, game changer.
Ron you nailed that look…bleached blonde hair, muscle shirt with the blazer sleeves at the elbows with shoulder pads and a gold chain around the neck! Justine…you rocked the big hair and the lace with that dress!! You guys looked like we did when we went to the prom 😊 AWESOME JOB 👏😎👏😎
Takes me back! It's wild that our younger days is now a costume, reminds me of when some would dress up in poodle skirts for Halloween back then. Now I know how our parents felt! LOL
Mish Mish had to go out and scare people. That pudding looks so good. Oh Justine wins for sure.
Love ham hocks, especially for pinto beans, and that rice pudding looks delicious!!!
I just want to tell you how much I just adore you both my favorite page
Thank you!!! Hey, your username reminds me of Rob Zombie's most famous song.
Yes hahah you got it. I've seen him lots of times.
Loved the 80's outfits but Justine with 80's hair, wow, what a stunner!!!
Always enjoy the content! Always looking forward to the next video!
Haha, my mother makes popcorn balls for her trick-or-treaters. No razor blades in them though. 😂. People LOVE them! Halloween tradition!!! 🎃 🧙♀️ 👻
Ron’s costume suits him 😂 y’all look fabulous!
Love your holiday episodes! Looking forward to the premier!
I was born 5 days before Christmas, I’ll be 40 this year, and I think I’ve maybe celebrated about 15 birthdays in my life. Way too close to Christmas, and often people will be like “here, this is for birthday and Christmas.” wWe purposely planned for my daughter to be born in June (ended up being the 26th), just so she could balance birthday presents and Christmas presents every 6 months.
My sister is still annoyed with our mom for refusing to have her on Halloween, lol. So her birthday is November 1st…but our mother’s birthday is actually on Christmas Day…and she gets double presents, lol 😊 You guys are so much fun to watch 😁 And it’s carmel…not caramel, lol
My cousin was born on Christmas day and we always had her birthday presents wrapped in birthday paper and her Christmas presents wrapped in Christmas paper. So we separated the 2 events!
Oh and Ron..Carmel is a city in California but the candy is Caramel!!
Happy Halloween, Justine, Ron & tiny panther Mish Mish! What a surprise to see Chew & Chat tonight! I just got home from trick or treating with my nieces & nephew. It’s my FAVORITE holiday too.
Ron and Justine, what a Halloween cat Mish Mish is, he disappears at timestamp 24:42 from your video. Loved it!!! Love your videos!
Mish mish is on the kitchen bench LoL
Happy Halloween/Samhain Ron and Justine and to everyone else reading this. I meditated tonight in thought and memory to all my lost loved ones pets and family and it really helped with my stress and depression. ❤
Happy Halloween you two!! I can literally smell the cans of aqua net through the screen 😂🤣😂 I LOVE your costumes….my favorite decade of all time! I graduated high school in the early ‘80s, sooo much fun!! This is a really fun chew and chat!! Your cabin decor looks absolutely awesome and I really am diggin’ your boney kitty cat on the counter 🎃👻 Have fun this evening and see ya next time ❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸
The wife and I love to watch you all!!! Howdy from Louisville KY!!
Caramel and carmel...there is a difference...but I'm with Justine...CARAMEL🥰👩🍳
I am with Justine too. In Australia it is always referred to as caramel - never as Carmel!
Also, split the pea soup is a very popular old English soup here - perfect for cold weather when cooked in a slow cooker. But - We can't get ham jocks for $2.😢
💯
It’s caramel!
From CA always called it Carmel
Yes, California here as well. It's definitely carmel. @@jillcrisel1259
I’m with Justine. It’s “care-uh-mel” and I will die on this hill!
my daddy was born halloween today but past away 3 yrs ago in august of 2021 7 days after my mom passed away i miss him more today then ever he was special
I always put on extra pounds in the fall/winter, then work it off in the garden in the spring. More fruits and vegetables will also help.
Ok Ron looks pretty darn good to.
You two look hysterical! Looking forward to 7 o’clock
Justine & Ron I enjoyed the latest chapter of your drama I have gone back and watched from chapter 1 on. I know you guys are very busy but look forward to MORE please. So much fun😂❤
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
We received a 1/2 inch of snow in Ohio. Happy Halloween 🎃👻
I got really concerned with the cat skeleton off to the side at first. I thought oh poor mishk mishk Quite relieved to see him when you let him in Justine lol
As someone who was born on Christmas, it sucks.😂 love you guys!
Happy Halloween and blessings to you both. I love your channel and lifestyle.
We'd be a happier healthier world living like this.
I haven't seen the drama video yet. I'll have to look for it. Love your Halloween decor.
Split pea soup is good after you cook a ham at Easter or Thanksgiving.
I was thinking the same. I use leftover hunks of ham in my pea soup.
We red coats call it
Ca ra mell . Sweet. Candy from the colomies. 🍫🍫
Lol
I just noticed Justine's top is the exact same pattern as my bedroom drapes, and lamp shades.
Nice!
I love both of Justine’s dresses in this video and I am determined to make the rice pudding. It looks delicious.
And our Halloween decorations consist almost exclusively of a headless cowboy (made from old work clothes of my husband sitting on some square bales), and now we’re in the country and Halloween is a trunk-n-treat in town and we put him in the truck be with an old metal wagon wheel, a couple of pumpkins, and some dead branches 😉
Ron and Justine, I really enjoy watching you guys and learning so much history. I started watching for the recipes. Oh and caramel... she's right
We are friends now 😆
Low of 21 here in Colorado! I also ❤ gummies! Happy Halloween 🎃
12 degrees here in the high country🥰🥰🥰
One of the many reasons I like these videos is that we get shortened versions of interesting stories in history from not just one, but both of you! Sometimes one of you will tell a story and the other won't know about it. Other times it's the other one of you. 📖
We have three inches of snow here. Came right as kids were to start trick or treating. My other half was born on Dec 28th he hated his birthday. His “birthday” presents were always wrapped in Christmas paper and didn’t get extra presents for his Birthday after Christmas. I say Carmel just as Ron says it, but I like the sound of the way Justine says it. I too never went to prom. Happy Halloween, hope everyone stayed safe. ❤
I think I may have added some more water and served them more like soup, with what ever meat you could get off the bone. I always use a bone from a ham.
Oh my goodness Justine, I love split pea soup too!
Ok. Even split peas too. Lol
I’d say Ron’s lack of putting down his fork was all the answer you need as to how much he likes your pudding!
Hello Justine, my name is Natan, I'm from Brazil, I love your videos showing how food was made in Early American, and I love your channel Happy Halloween everyone 🎃👻🦇🕷️🧛
Either way you say 'Caramel' is fine, neither option is wrong. :) Loved the costumes! You both looked great! Justine looked beautiful in that dress with her hair all wild. Good job, Ron. lol 🥰
Thanks for another awesome, relaxing and fun video!
You two were quite the Halloween duo! Loved both videos. Good job!
You two are a national treasure! Love you guys! Happy Halloween 🎃👻⚰️☠️🕷️🕸️🦇
I just wanted to say happy Halloween to my favorite 19th century couple! And MishMish too! Sorry I couldn't make the live. See you next week.
Justine don't you ever feed that GROWING boy? LOL seriously he loves your cooking!
I make pea soup with t knuckles not so much fat & usually I have left over ham to add to it. Thank you for this cute video!
Ron I can hardly wait each week to watch yours and Justine's videos. I told Justine they are the best on TH-cam. I love split pea soup. Both ways of saying carmel, caramel, are correct.
Such a bummer I missed the live but watching now. Happy Halloween 🎃
Also, born Californian, so it’s car-muhl to me. Not care-a-mel, car-mel, the mel becomes MUHL 🤣
Happy Halloween/Samhain everyone! I hope you all had a spooky fun time with lots of treats and no tricks! Split peas and ham is so good and hearty for winter, and I love old fashioned puddings, I've made a few myself. Yummy!
Lol, you both are wearing amazing outfits, you BOTH are winners... yeaaaaaaa woo woot!!
Your videos take me back in time and help me forget this stressful, sad world for a while. Thank you!
Happy Halloween to you two! Great job dressing 1980s.!! Enjoy the party
Yep! I graduated in the early 80’s and Y’all pegged it! The hairspray!
Ya just missed the bangs straight up in the air😂
I have been thinking of split pea soup all day!
My birthday is on Christmas!!! So is my first cousin. I don't think I get double the presents, at least not always! Usually, my gifts are wrapped in Christmas paper. Lol But it is still fun!!! One of my sons' birthdays is on the 13th of December. 😂 🌲🎁
Thank you! I always enjoy watching the two of you! I didn't go to the Prom either. Boo Hoo! Neither did my husband. Mother-in-laws birthday today at 95!
You two crack me up. 😂 your food looks and sounds delicious!
Love your flashback to the 80s! That was my Era class of 89. Happy Halloween 🎃
love your blue pumpkin on the table. i've wanted one. i have a white pumpkin this year. i was showing my students all colors of pumpkins.
O started playing your videos for my toddler to sleep. Now I can’t sleep! So good to watch you guys!
Yes. I was an ‘80’s teen. And yes, I have legit gone to a school dance with my jacket sleeves pushed up.
My high school years are now people’s Halloween. 😂
I love split pea soup and after a long hospital stay starting the end of Sept, and just got home from rehap on Oct. 30, I'm excited to try it with beef. I'm on a low salt diet via my cardiologists. Thanks for posting this recipe. I thought I was never going to get split pea again.
I think you both look great! I was an 80's girl. I graduated in the '80's and went to my junior prom, but not my Senior prom!
Happy Halloween. I think Ron's right its Carmel, like Carmel corn. My Mother made the best split pea soup with ham hocks.
🎃 Happy Halloween 🎃
I can't wait to see your shopping haul! I love them.
Hey Ron and Justine! I loved Justine's reference to the Smiths! I have to admit, they are one of my favorite bands!!! 🙂👍
Another great Chew and Chat! Awww….I was hoping Ron’s jack o lantern would win. Congrats to Justine. Very authentic 1980’s looks. Thanks ‘guys!’
Thank you! What a fun and entertaining episode!!
Good show, very good show!! Love your prom outfits!! No, I didn't attend a prom, and I lived.🎃Can't wait to see what Ron cooks up at the hearth, good luck!! You'll have fun and be safe!!
Happy Halloween to everyone! Halloween is one of my favorite Holiday s. My favorite Halloween stories is about the Hedless Horseman! Like you guys! The cabin looks nice with the Halloween decorations.David Back.
You guys look great!!!! I love the punishment for Ron. I have faith Ron will do excellent and make a great meal!
This was the BEST way to end Halloween, watching my Favorite TH-camrs. 🥰
That’s a proper cauldron. 🎃🎃🎃
I plead "mercy" for Ron. Dude got a raw deal. That green pumpkin was evil! 😈
Justine’s 80 hair is chef’s kiss! Lol
Dude you are so blessed. She's such a keeper.
Rocker Ron and goth Justine! It's give me flashbacks of mid and high school days!😜Love it! ❤❤❤❤
love love love justine's goth hair !!! 🥹💕
My son was born on Christmas Day. He opened Christmas presents in the morning from Santa and the family when we woke up. We celebrated Christmas dinner at night for his birthday. He got a birthday cake and birthday presents. So he made out ok.
The skin softens the longer you let it simmer.
The cabin is so adorable and cozy as always, love how it's decorated for Halloween. The meal looks so delicious. ♥
Ms. Justine, I have to say you look fantastic with your hair down and perm up, almost like a Renaissance painting.
Every week I am always looking forward to watching you both
Thank you dear 💜
Keep looking like that, and you'll have to get married before Thanksgiving!
Justine has the best style in every era
Care-uh-mel LOL
Happy Halloween. I say Carmel. They food looked so good. You both looked great.
Yep, I graduated in 1984 and you hit the nail on the head!
Justine, you and Ron are just such a delight. I love your videos, keep up the amazing work!
Happy Halloween/Samhain and Dia de Los Muertes ! got to watch this morning before work! So much fun. Y'all are so down to earth and personable. Wish you were my neighbors. Have a beautiful and blessed day!
Happy Halloween! You can substitute beef shanks for ham hock to get more meat with your peas. I like caramel sauce, but not so much caramel candy.
Love watching u two. I love caramel. u are a beautiful couple. Keep the light shining!❤️
Your cabin looks great keep up the good work
Yeah, I went to Prom. It was fun!
