So I know I am pretty late on this, but as one of the remaining 12 Owlboy fans I showed this video to the discord and actually got one of the devs to talk about the review this magazine gave. It was basically a sarcastic remark of "Oh no, not another review number". So I guess dealing with reviews like that just comes with the territory.
The book as an overall thing definitely seems like it is directed towards a younger audience, but hey it gave me a snippet on a page, so that's cool...I guess. lol
@Paper-thin Man see, undertale was a good game with a great storyline, music, and although simple, neat graphics, which took years to make, also getting thousands more from Kickstarter from originally intended. Fortnite was remade once and blended since 2012. With many producers taking hold changing the game until the game split into two, one MMO shoot em up, and another MMO survivor shooter. The only reason undertale is a footnote now is because of the toxic community which ruined fnaf, undertale, cuphead, and eddsworld. Seriously there is a documentary how the creators had to delete everything they made on the internet and leave because of the toxic fans. It's horrible and inhuman.
Sad thing is, pretty much every British kid’s mag is like this now. You want a challenge? Buy the entire magazine aisle at your local Sainsbury’s and prepare for some shit.
The Beano used to be awesome. Now it's ridiculously expensive (£2.70!), it seems to have an emphasis on celeb cameos and some of the illustrations are now honestly terrible and this is coming from someone who has no drawing ability whatsoever. Me and my grandma used to read those comics a lot before I got older and stopped getting it when the price was £1. But summer holidays reading them in the back garden... it was fantastic. One of my biggest regrets is getting rid of those comics. :(
No, no, no, Gran Turismo 5 was a game where the downfall of the series began (before reaching the ultimate low with GT6). By far the best Gran Turismo games, that should've been included on the list are Gran Turismo 2 and 3.

Vulture X It ended, came back, and then I don't know if ended again, it probably did. EGM was a lot like Nintendo Power but with more "naughty" language and humor. They of course focused more on other stuff than just mainly Nintendo. As mentioned earlier, they seemed to be most remembered today for the April fools issues.

Funny enough I seen this magazine before and ended up picking one myself because I was so curious what was inside of it. And yeah it sucks I would rather read official Nintendo magazine if I could as it was sadly discontinue years ago. I never thought I'd miss NOT having access to the internet; but I can't get over the nostalgia I have for those old gaming magazines, as well as the old text walkthroughs for Zelda I used to read online whenever I did manage to get the opportunity. As for pandering - I imagine that they did so to an extent, but then I also expect that they didn't want to irritate their older audience too much either. The children's market for video games is so much different these days, after all.

Spyro was 42 and KINGDOM HEARTS was 36 with Plants vs zombies, Wii Sports, Skylanders, and Angry Birds ranked higher, that is an insult to KH and Spyro.
Jeanne Darc Plants vs. Zombies is a pretty nice game, I remember sinking a good chunk of my time on it back when I was a youngling, and I used to play the older Monster Hunter games back then, so I'd like to believe that I didn't have a terrible taste at the time, but I also sunk more time on Roblox than I did on both Plants vs. Zombies and Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and Freedom Unite combined, so maybe I did.
Funny how Disney Infinity is over now though as well as most of the "toys to life" genere. It seems like they just put those games in random order lol. Lot of vague ones too. Poor magazine though being ripped up like that lol. Also I think DanTDM is friends with Markiplier that's how I know of him. You should complain to them about the tango sweet.

Those "writers" who have review this lists haven't done any research on the further on the development of Cuphead and the traditional illustration in the game. Plus, Super Mario and Pokemon should have been slightly higher due to the popular with their audience and gameplay. I'm aware this magazine isn't my age group but still this is dumb.

The sound of Fortnite alone makes my blood boil. It’s fanbase has reached too far. I’m not fucking kidding, my _grandpa_ plays Fortnite. I don’t want to sound like a “I was born in the wrong generation!” Kid, but I find people aren’t appreciating good games, and instead are too busy jacking at the odds of Epic Games (where games are epic).
I see magazines like this all the time. They're pretty obviously just written in like 5 minutes and just slap pictures of whatever current game/ infuriating let's player is popular among kids on the cover to get a few buys from 5-9 year olds.
I mean I don't care about the normal game mode for Minecraft but I still didn't feel like it was a waste buying it because it had some pretty cool minigame servers and single player maps. Hyrule warriors doesn't look that repetitive tough, the fights just don't look that fun.
@@laraa739 Hyrule Warriors is a Dynasty Warriors game with Zelda skins, and Dynasty Warriors is one of the most repetitive game series ever, although it's still fun. It's like a beat em up in 3D, good beat em ups are repetitive but still fun to be so overpowered and kill hordes of enemies

How can you criticize Hyrule Warriors for not having puzzles when it's supposed to be based off of Dynasty Warriors, a game that doesn't have any puzzles to begin with? And it's a spin off so it's supposed to be different. That's like criticizing Mario Kart because it doesn't have platforming.
But mario kart has platforming. In Mushroom gorge, where you jump on those bouncy mushrooms. Where you end up misaligned and fall down into the infinte abyss.

@Paper-thin Man see, undertale was a good game with a great storyline, music, and although simple, neat graphics, which took years to make, also getting thousands more from Kickstarter from originally intended. Fortnite was remade once and blended since 2012. With many producers taking hold changing the game until the game split into two, one MMO shoot em up, and another MMO survivor shooter. The only reason undertale is a footnote now is because of the toxic community which ruined fnaf, undertale, cuphead, and eddsworld. Seriously there is a documentary how the creators had to delete everything they made on the internet and leave because of the toxic fans. It's horrible and inhuman.

The Beano used to be awesome. Now it's ridiculously expensive (£2.70!), it seems to have an emphasis on celeb cameos and some of the illustrations are now honestly terrible and this is coming from someone who has no drawing ability whatsoever. Me and my grandma used to read those comics a lot before I got older and stopped getting it when the price was £1. But summer holidays reading them in the back garden... it was fantastic.
One of my biggest regrets is getting rid of those comics. :(

Vulture X It ended, came back, and then I don't know if ended again, it probably did. EGM was a lot like Nintendo Power but with more "naughty" language and humor. They of course focused more on other stuff than just mainly Nintendo. As mentioned earlier, they seemed to be most remembered today for the April fools issues.

Funny enough I seen this magazine before and ended up picking one myself because I was so curious what was inside of it.
And yeah it sucks I would rather read official Nintendo magazine if I could as it was sadly discontinue years ago. But hey at least that magazine was for all ages to enjoy and wasn't trying to be insulting to you! Plus it also have some good stuff like huge posters and other little things too. I use to love reading it back in the day.

I never thought I'd miss NOT having access to the internet; but I can't get over the nostalgia I have for those old gaming magazines, as well as the old text walkthroughs for Zelda I used to read online whenever I did manage to get the opportunity.
As for pandering - I imagine that they did so to an extent, but then I also expect that they didn't want to irritate their older audience too much either. The children's market for video games is so much different these days, after all.

Jeanne Darc Plants vs. Zombies is a pretty nice game, I remember sinking a good chunk of my time on it back when I was a youngling, and I used to play the older Monster Hunter games back then, so I'd like to believe that I didn't have a terrible taste at the time, but I also sunk more time on Roblox than I did on both Plants vs. Zombies and Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and Freedom Unite combined, so maybe I did.
Except Plants Vs Zombies and Wii Sports are actually great games lol

I mean I don't care about the normal game mode for Minecraft but I still didn't feel like it was a waste buying it because it had some pretty cool minigame servers and single player maps. Hyrule warriors doesn't look that repetitive tough, the fights just don't look that fun.
@@laraa739 Hyrule Warriors is a Dynasty Warriors game with Zelda skins, and Dynasty Warriors is one of the most repetitive game series ever, although it's still fun. It's like a beat em up in 3D, good beat em ups are repetitive but still fun to be so overpowered and kill hordes of enemies

How can you criticize Hyrule Warriors for not having puzzles when it's supposed to be based off of Dynasty Warriors, a game that doesn't have any puzzles to begin with? And it's a spin off so it's supposed to be different. That's like criticizing Mario Kart because it doesn't have platforming.
