I never thought Rockstar getting their hands on FiveM would be a good thing for anyone. Like a bunch of car thieves, they're just going to strip it for parts and leave it abandoned in an alley somewhere. I've been sick of the way Rockstar conducts their business and treats everyone in their universe. It's obvious to me they hate their players and I guess they even hate their employees as well. I'd rather not support such crappy people.
nah the issue is fivem uses all of GTA's model assets, maps, items. There would be no issue if the developer of FiveM created his own game from scratch, but he just used an already made game to make money
Most shark card buyers are 10-15 yr olds asking their parents. I've been on sessions and heard kid talking about asking their parents for these pointless things. They also buy v bucks for fortnight. teacher your kids better and parents don't buy into the bs please.

I disagree. Rockstar does have an apple way of doing things but this has a lot of positive. All rockstar games are either excellent or great. With fiveM, rockstar will do an apple thing by integrating what fiveM is so good at. Rockstar has always done that, buying other producers and integrating the into their games. Just like apple does. @@juz882010 There are private roleplay sessions but fivem is a hosting platform that makes it easier for server owners to manage their servers. Especially if your server runs alot of packs. On top of that, it makes it so that there is one place for server browsing (dozens of servers to choose from). It was perfectly fine until rockstar bought it and ruined it.
@PixelSubstream because anything that actually devs for FiveM knows it needs official support and tools to keep it going. Too many limitations with the code and onesync is still so janky to work with.

Not surprised at all, pretty much suspected as soon as it was announced they bought it, it's a competitor so obviously if they can't cease and desist then the next step is to buy it, get rid of the people, and eventually shut it down. As much as folks want to speculate, there won't be a SixM. However FiveM could be used as a study for GTA 6 Online where Rockstar's official Online could be more like a Roleplay server.

Been saying this. I remember playing fivem back in 2021-2022 and it was amazing. Then I took a break and came back in 2023 and man o man so much stuff changed. I was wondering why and realized it was bc rockstar bought fivem and was threatening to remove servers who did not comply with their rules. Calling it that the only actual reason they acquired FiveM was so that they could have everyone involved as “former employees” and likely made them sign non-competes/NDAs, so that when 6 comes out, they can have a much better legal footing to prevent a SixM (or whatever it’s called) from ever being made.

I'm not saying that it wouldn't be better if the FiveM team was involved, but I'm saying that it's unlikely most of the FiveM team will survive the transition because that's ALWAYS what happens when a larger studio buys an independant organization. The original members are replaced, either slowly or quickly, by new employees from the main office, or they aren't replaced at all until Rockstar eventually shutters FiveM for not making them enough money. I say Rockstar, but it's all directed from the top by Take2. I can't speak for the entirety of Rockstar, but as for Take2, they literally only view you as a cow to be milked for your money. It's the primary issue with the "games as a service" model that most people are fighting tooth and nail to excise from gaming as an industry. GTA Online as it stands today only barely missed the games-as-a-service bandwagon, but make no mistake: You Will Buy the seasonal Grand Theft Autopass to acquire mildly more rare articles of clothing and You Will Enjoy It and You Will Never Wonder if it could've been different. That's their goal, anyway.

Learn form them, work with them, communicate with them. They're the crutches to your game, regardless on how you feel about it. Without modder's, games are stale & bland with no change. You know it, i know it, everyone knows it. The whole purpose of Grand Theft Auto is to DO WHATEVER YOU WANT right? So why is it a problem when FiveM introduces that very rule? Yes, they're reusing assets. Yes, they're making a game within a game. But you know what else they're doing? they're keeping your game alive. They're encouraging people to buy your game to download FiveM. They're still making you money at the end of the day. Work with modder's (or just hire them) because they can & will make games better.

When I heard Rockstar was going to buy FiveM and saw how people were actually happy about it and talking about how modding would come to consoles I thought they were stupid and naive. To me it looked like since they couldn't stop modders the next best thing would be to find a way to control it and this was them doing just that. After all this time you should know them by now. GTA 6 is going to most likely require a sub on not only console but pc to. Any mods will probably be like Bethesda's creation club and require you to buy them. Those mods will also most likely be forced to follow strict rules that limit the freedom and creativity that you are used to.

I built my friend a pc to play fiveM after I had a 6 month hiatus. We loaded up an old server I was on and I noticed that EVERY single custom car and model was GONE. My friend was pissed. He really loves Rust though now atleast

Not surprised at the least...guy I got to know from R* was in charge of a team that monitored GTAO on consoles, and the stories I got about R*'s treatment of staff, and brutal treatment. Countless team meetings abusing team members, and disregarding suggested fixes over prioritizing micro transactions and shark card sales. I love GTAO on console...but man some days it's not just as fun as the old days.
No matter what Rockstar will never pay for server admins that can kick/ban/moderate players on the spot, thats why official, FiveM level of quality, RP servers wont ever exist. Rockstar is at this point just another big company which was founded by artists and devs, that was was overrun by people who know nothing about what makes GTA a GTA, whos only purpose is to keep the shareholders happy.
it's hard to disagree with this. I've been playing alot on rp servers and there was much more freedom if we're speaking about content avaiable on servers and things you could do as your rp character but since fivem was aquired they forbid branded custom content like cars, clothes and some aspects of what can you do in roleplay. Besides, how long can we play on a default los santos map cmon, it's just starting to get boring after a while.
branded content is always a problem, as the market rights are always with the company e.g. mercedes or adidas. so it will always be a problem, even with other mods like alt:v or ragemp. it's so easy to get your server sued

Old FiveM you could play with real world brands. Like cars, clothing brands, locations etc. So you know how R* makes their cars ANNIS for Nissan? Well in FiveM there were real Nissans. And FiveM never really stopped anyone from doing that. But under R*, they went around killing off servers that had brands. So yeah, even though the player count is up, the content on FiveM isn't what it used to be
As much as I am a huge fan of The GTA Franchise and Five M, a movement needs to be formed where all who support Rockstar must take a stand and stop supporting their greedy and evil ways. She did not deserve to be ripped off in such a disgusting way. Whether how excited we may all seem about GTA 6, I don't think it is worth supporting such people like Rockstar. People need to put theirselves in her shoes and consider how they would've felt. No, next time he pays modders to do a better job on his own product and make one of their games unique. On the other hand without modders they would not have solved the loading problem that they only paid 10k, or other mods for gta5 that will enter gta 6.... Come on, rockstar just has to thank that mods exist, I buy games mainly for that, I have all Lore friendly cars, and I also have the missing cars from gta 3-4,sa and vc. Which R🌠had to do. Where they should be the ones to do and improve instead of cutting beta content, make two versions rather, the version sold for consoles and the full one for pc. Fortunately there are modders, otherwise gta5 would be a sad game, and gta 6 will probably be too, with content and missions cut, I repeat if modders didn't exist, the story mode that I appreciate so much with added missions, largely arranged story, extra content, and above all to the story mode of gtao To be used in sp. Modding remains the best thing in the world and fivem was the best thing created, if they want it to be appreciated, they don't have to ruin the experience with their, for example I love the mini jobs available in the gta life mod, or damn they had to import muscle/fat features from gtasa, and the cleo mod... From gta 4 to 5 we missed parkour... From gta sa we missed the various fighting styles.... At least they had customized it for the 3 charachter, In short, always working badly and demanding that they be paid when the remastered could do them divinely.... I make up for the remastered thanks to modders, yet it wasn't difficult, they just used gta4 as a base... Or gta 5..... No mod, no more gta!!!!
Mods are an extremly important thing in the video game industry, heck some of the biggest games originated from modding: Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead, Dota, DayZ and others i can't really describe. Anyone saying stuff like "mods ruin games" are complete idiots
Unfortunately they are actively trying to. The game files by default are encrypted, and you need programs like OpenIV that decrypt the game files to even mod it. They also tried to take down OpenIV a few years ago along with many cool singleplayer mods too. They dont want fun.

you also have to mention SAMP - San Andreas Multi Player mod made by community for GTA San Andreas... was one of the best mods for its time and i knew there is no way rockstar wont add this feature in their next games..
From this is why i now stuck to single player offline modding. The reason we loved FiveM was the custom modded content like the trademarked cars/clothes and custom LUA Scripts mods like custom jobs and events/inventory scripts/economy scripts/gang server scripts etc. Rockstars plan isnt to allow us a meaningful closer to realism FROM THE MECHANICS not because you can buy a shark card or grind a dumb mission to buy a dumb car "apartment" thats meaningless and exhausting to aquire. FiveM allowed control to the PLAYERS we took care of our own gta experience and made it fun how it should be played. Rockstars plan is to make money hopefuly they can find a reasonable solution to providing players a least restrictive and in depth experience GTA Game engine is such an amazing physics and AI Driven sandbox it deserves that kind of treatment

It's a literal daycare for kids and a playground for shut ins to fish for attention...clout. FiveM was better but almost ALL of these servers suffer from the same issues in their communities. Players trying to get around the rules and Server Admins corrupted by power. Want to recommend something that may be new and fun to try on their servers?...Immediately get shutdown, posts deleted and then trolled and flammed by others cause they don't agree with your suggestion. Critiquing anyone from the Admin Team is considered a personal attack/insult which quickly is followed by a ban. The fact that Rockstar LET Gta Online run like has for all these years tells you this company really does not care about the player. Nothing about GTA Online is fun. They've given the keys to trolls to ruin your "Fun" while gaslighting behind the scenes. Installing code in the AI to intentionally hit the player. So on and on and on. I can add a book worth of shit here. We the player have to stop supporting this shit but at the end of the day, I know it will never be, Rockstar has their hooks into too many kids and weak adults for them to ever change the system. If rock star does this I would hope they keep the modding aspect lua based because as someone who spent years creating mods for fivem using lua I would hate to have all the experience go down the drain
This is good! Rockstar will bring greatness into 5M with there fresh new team. The first thing they should do is add sharkcards into 5M as everything is so easy to grind and with this they will need to increase the overall price for everything as well, this is the reason I love GTA online as its a constant grind and always keeps you on edge with people looking to blow you up. This should be a key factor within 5M now and with this they need to add the exact same playstyle from GTA to 5M. As for the RP, it needs to become a lot less free and instead should be locked so you have to work extra hard to get to the RP job you want to do and they need to add them as a DLC so you can buy them if you wish.

I disagree. Rockstar does have an apple way of doing things but this has a lot of positive. All rockstar games are either excellent or great. With fiveM, rockstar will do an apple thing by integrating what fiveM is so good at. Rockstar has always done that, buying other producers and integrating the into their games. Just like apple does. People love apple and people love rockstar. Both are top tear in their own segments

@@juz882010 There are private roleplay sessions but fivem is a hosting platform that makes it easier for server owners to manage their servers. Especially if your server runs alot of packs. On top of that, it makes it so that there is one place for server browsing (dozens of servers to choose from). It was perfectly fine until rockstar bought it and ruined it.

As much as folks want to speculate, there won't be a SixM. However FiveM could be used as a study for GTA 6 Online where Rockstar's official Online could be more like a Roleplay server.

Calling it that the only actual reason they acquired FiveM was so that they could have everyone involved as “former employees” and likely made them sign non-competes/NDAs, so that when 6 comes out, they can have a much better legal footing to prevent a SixM (or whatever it’s called) from ever being made.

I'm not saying that it wouldn't be better if the FiveM team was involved, but I'm saying that it's unlikely most of the FiveM team will survive the transition because that's ALWAYS what happens when a larger studio buys an independant organization. The original members are replaced, either slowly or quickly, by new employees from the main office, or they aren't replaced at all until Rockstar eventually shutters FiveM for not making them enough money. I say Rockstar, but it's all directed from the top by Take2. I can't speak for the entirety of Rockstar, but as for Take2, they literally only view you as a cow to be milked for your money. It's the primary issue with the "games as a service" model that most people are fighting tooth and nail to excise from gaming as an industry. GTA Online as it stands today only barely missed the games-as-a-service bandwagon, but make no mistake: You Will Buy the seasonal Grand Theft Autopass to acquire mildly more rare articles of clothing and You Will Enjoy It and You Will Never Wonder if it could've been different. That's their goal, anyway.

When I heard Rockstar was going to buy FiveM and saw how people were actually happy about it and talking about how modding would come to consoles I thought they were stupid and naive. To me it looked like since they couldn't stop modders the next best thing would be to find a way to control it and this was them doing just that. After all this time you should know them by now. GTA 6 is going to most likely require a sub on not only console but pc to. Any mods will probably be like Bethesda's creation club and require you to buy them. Those mods will also most likely be forced to follow strict rules that limit the freedom and creativity that you are used to.
More than anything else, you will find the content ready to use and exploit without having to pay anyone....😅

Why is it that a game can make billions of dollars and instead of cultivating the culture that made that possible, let a bunch of VLADs into management.
I built my friend a pc to play fiveM after I had a 6 month hiatus. We loaded up an old server I was on and I noticed that EVERY single custom car and model was GONE. My friend was pissed. He really loves Rust though now atleast

Not surprised at the least...guy I got to know from R* was in charge of a team that monitored GTAO on consoles, and the stories I got about R*'s treatment of staff, and brutal treatment. Countless team meetings abusing team members, and disregarding suggested fixes over prioritizing micro transactions and shark card sales. I love GTAO on console...but man some days it's not just as fun as the old days.

Greedy RP servers owners ruined FiveM and RageMP.
No matter what Rockstar will never pay for server admins that can kick/ban/moderate players on the spot, thats why official, FiveM level of quality, RP servers wont ever exist. Rockstar is at this point just another big company which was founded by artists and devs, that was was overrun by people who know nothing about what makes GTA a GTA, whos only purpose is to keep the shareholders happy.
it's hard to disagree with this. I've been playing alot on rp servers and there was much more freedom if we're speaking about content avaiable on servers and things you could do as your rp character but since fivem was aquired they forbid branded custom content like cars, clothes and some aspects of what can you do in roleplay. Besides, how long can we play on a default los santos map cmon, it's just starting to get boring after a while.
branded content is always a problem, as the market rights are always with the company e.g. mercedes or adidas. so it will always be a problem, even with other mods like alt:v or ragemp. it's so easy to get your server sued

Fivem is far better than GTA Online, As a developer I run Fivem Roleplay server and the possibility is endless interms of script development.

On the other hand without modders they would not have solved the loading problem that they only paid 10k, or other mods for gta5 that will enter gta 6.... Come on, rockstar just has to thank that mods exist, I buy games mainly for that, I have all Lore friendly cars, and I also have the missing cars from gta 3-4,sa and vc. Which R🌠had to do. Where they should be the ones to do and improve instead of cutting beta content, make two versions rather, the version sold for consoles and the full one for pc. Mods are an extremly important thing in the video game industry, heck some of the biggest games originated from modding: Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead, Dota, DayZ and others i can't really describe. Anyone saying stuff like "mods ruin games" are complete idiots
Unfortunately they are actively trying to. The game files by default are encrypted, and you need programs like OpenIV that decrypt the game files to even mod it. They also tried to take down OpenIV a few years ago along with many cool singleplayer mods too. They dont want fun.

you also have to mention SAMP - San Andreas Multi Player mod made by community for GTA San Andreas... was one of the best mods for its time and i knew there is no way rockstar wont add this feature in their next games..

From this is why i now stuck to single player offline modding. The reason we loved FiveM was the custom modded content like the trademarked cars/clothes and custom LUA Scripts mods like custom jobs and events/inventory scripts/economy scripts/gang server scripts etc. Rockstars plan isnt to allow us a meaningful closer to realism FROM THE MECHANICS not because you can buy a shark card or grind a dumb mission to buy a dumb car "apartment" thats meaningless and exhausting to aquire. FiveM allowed control to the PLAYERS we took care of our own gta experience and made it fun how it should be played. Rockstars plan is to make money hopefuly they can find a reasonable solution to providing players a least restrictive and in depth experience GTA Game engine is such an amazing physics and AI Driven sandbox it deserves that kind of treatment

I find women just can't keep up with what is required to manage people.
She messed up by giving in to Rockstar. She has this entrepreneur personality which obviously does not gel well with taking orders from a company.

3. As much as I like GTA, i'm ready to stop playing the game forever. The last GTA I was serious about was GTA4. GTASAMP was amazing back in the day.
HOWEVER, with this infusion of streamers, the community has gotten extremely more toxic.
First of all GTA Online is a complete joke.
It's a literal daycare for kids and a playground for shut ins to fish for attention...clout.
FiveM was better but almost ALL of these servers suffer from the same issues in their communities. Players trying to get around the rules and Server Admins corrupted by power.
Want to recommend something that may be new and fun to try on their servers?...Immediately get shutdown, posts deleted and then trolled and flammed by others cause they don't agree with your suggestion.
Critiquing anyone from the Admin Team is considered a personal attack/insult which quickly is followed by a ban.
The fact that Rockstar LET Gta Online run like has for all these years tells you this company really does not care about the player.
Nothing about GTA Online is fun.
They've given the keys to trolls to ruin your "Fun" while gaslighting behind the scenes.
Installing code in the AI to intentionally hit the player.

This is good! Rockstar will bring greatness into 5M with there fresh new team. The first thing they should do is add sharkcards into 5M as everything is so easy to grind and with this they will need to increase the overall price for everything as well, this is the reason I love GTA online as its a constant grind and always keeps you on edge with people looking to blow you up. This should be a key factor within 5M now and with this they need to add the exact same playstyle from GTA to 5M. As for the RP, it needs to become a lot less free and instead should be locked so you have to work extra hard to get to the RP job you want to do and they need to add them as a DLC so you can buy them if you wish.
I rather fiveM ceo struggle with management issues then partner with rockstar 🤦🏽♂️
