Yeeah it is really one of the highlights! Also, it only gets better when the car has been standing for a while 😎

Great video! Would love to find out more about how and where you got the car from? Previous owners and some of the stories involved with the car! Thanks!

Is there another aftermarket way to help with the voltage transformer?

I’ve seen people sticking gold platet foil on the underside of it. Didn’t find a place here that had it in stock so just took some heat shield and it seems to work :)

You mention car was running lean and was fixed. Was it a fuel filter issue?

Hello! I should clarify, I’m not 100% sure it was running lean. But when I bought the car it was down on power and was running poorly. Was found that 1,5litres of coolant was missing in the intercooler circuit -> resulting in too high intake air temperature -> messed up combustion. It was bled with the factory bleeding machine and now it is running as it should again 😀

We have 2 s65 AMG w221 2011 and 2013. The 2011 was running slightly down on power compared to the 2013. Part throttle much less torque and felt some very very slight surging at higher rpm. Changed fuel filter unit with the attached pressure regulator and new fuel sensor and car is absolutely different to drive. Fuel pressure measured good when running in garage so must have been under load where issue was. Just fyi if it helps.

On another point, car had no fault codes logged, got great gas mileage, and felt generally good to drive except that I could compare it to another car. Otherwise probably never know it had an issue. You mentioned changing the fuel filter so interested to see if you have the same issue. I had spark plugs that were white on several cylinders and have new coil picks plugs and transformer etc.

Nice to hear that everything was sorted and your 65s are running great again! I actually did not suspect any issues with the fuel filter, but wanted to replace it as I thought it was 17yrs old. It had been replaced one time before to my surprise, but that’s a good sign! As far as the condition of the plugs, engine was not running 100% perfect when I bought it. Will make a video about that and some history of the car shortly😁
