I remember this tour. I saw it in Atlanta, but Rick and Barbara weren't part of the show. I've never heard Lee play all of those latin tunes live before, so this was a real treat for me. Thanks for sharing. 🙂 G!
I just discovered this video by accident today and I have tears of happiness and love streaming down my face. Thank you for sharing this with the world. 🌟🌟🌟 I was a young man when I saw him in the 80s, while he was touring. I'll never forget the piano playing, the outfits, the car on stage, the dancing waters, and feeling utterly enthralled the entire time. I left feeling more alive and happy than I could ever describe. 🌟🌟 I had the most treasured vinyl records at that time of him playing. Sadly, most were ruined over time and I thought vinyl would never come back. Low and behold, it's back. And so at 63, I am collecting his records once again. 🌟🌟 I never understood what feeling nostalgic meant until this age, but now I do. I know what that feeling is deep inside when you miss someone or something and it feels like an absence. I know Lee would not be alive today, even if he had survived his illness (an evil I dare not speak its name). But I still miss him and cherish him, and I hope somehow the spirit of who he was lives on inside of me by giving to others through the work I do, even if I am not in a showbiz or music-related field. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thank you again. I will sit, listen, love, and cherish every minute of this beautiful concert. 🌟🌟
The dialogue was the same as his Vegas shows. He did the same jokes for the last ten years. Liberace came from a time of real entertainment. That's why he was known as Mr. Showmanship.
I always wondered about that, too. However, back when he was performing there was no such thing as the Internet and videos where people could look him up and see what he was doing in his shows on any given date. People just didn’t have access to that kind of information. That’s why I think he was able to repeat the same jokes and the same musical numbers over and over. Nowadays, I think performers have to be more careful and have a lot more variety in their act just because of this very same reason. Liberace kept his shows fresh, though, by having different talented performers entertain onstage while he was getting into the next costume. I remember reading once that he would also work in totally new musical numbers here and there to give the show a little bit of variety. But it seems like the Strauss waltz medley, the Gershwin medley, the playing of “It’s Impossible”, and the dancing with a woman from the audience were pretty much in every show, though.
If you don't count his promiscuous and indulgent private life, what about his "gorgeous performances and piano attainments"?I believe that today in 2024, Liberace can compete on the same stage with any of the top pianists in the world and will not be inferior ! miss you Liberace[1919-1987]🎹🎼🙏

This was just over a year after he was diagnosed. Poor Lee is out of breath.
Not true. Diagnosed in summer of 1985.

Yes, in August 1985 he was informed that he was HIV positive
He was a heavy smoker. That would account for his breathlessness
@@phil4977
He was an occasional smoker yes, but he was not a heavy smoker at all. Still Emphysema caught up with him.
Thanks for the upload! Lots of new musical clips that I’ve never seen before. Live performances, too! Awesome!
16 months after this show he was dead
There will never be another like him.
