So guys, I finally cut off my long curly hair, and for the first time of my life-- I did the BIG CHOP! Oh yeah... at a BARBER SHOP lol... I'm now rocking a curly pixie 😝I hope out of all of this, someone learns from my mistakes and is inspired to no matter what flourish in their wholeness journey...
*also I am accepting ALL natural hair care products for reviews lol...
I've watched alot of big chop videos and this is by far the best one I've seen.. you made it a spiritual growth documentary..you have inspired me to do something for me that's me and only me....thank you for your testimony and you are beautiful inside and out and it's strange how God( or whatever your higher power u chose to praise)uses us to help others.... without struggle there is no progress...just remember this...had you never cut it you would've never learned any of these things about yourself. More Hair!!!!

I did a lot of big chops with thin edges and all. I have faced a lot of insecurities with and without my family’s approval I was told I looked like a boy and I didn’t care. I did what “I” with a big I wanted to do 😍I love myself even that much more for not allowing people opinions of me detour me
Definitely getting it cut in a female led space would have provided more comfort for this emotional journey. Men see hair as a beautiful cover when it so much more than that. You're obviously in transition into a different version of yourself, despite the negative start, ride it out to the end

Unfortunately, our culture has a tendency to base beauty on the color of our skin, the length of our hair, etc . To me the definition of beauty is everything that is alive and well AND who doesn't give a crap about what others think is beautiful.
God blessed you to wake up this morning. Not everyone can say that. Your health, I'm assuming is good. You have a roof over your head and food in your stomach. Soooo....many wish that they could say the same. Count your blessings not your sorrows.
It's just hair. Lol. You are rocking the heck out of that short , curly haircut. It makes your face stand out in a crowd but in a fantastic way. How many times have you seen a woman with long hair and she never really left an impression on you but a woman with a short avant-garde hairstyle that catches your attention? I find it to be quite often in my personal experiences.
You just wait after a few months of rocking this style, you'll wonder why you hadn't done it sooner.
I'm a former professional hairstylist and my favorite clients were women you wanted their hair cut short. In my past experiences I could create all different types of styles with short hair. There's professional haircolor, adding wefts of different textures/colors , silk pressing or nowadays just sporting the "natural" look.

Omg I had a similar experience last December but I actually went to a salon first but the person did a horrible job so I actually ended up going to a barber after to fix it. I kind of regret it sometimes because I did it for all the wrong reasons. I cut my hair during a time I lost my identity and confidence. But now that I know who I am in Christ I’m glad to watch my hair grow as my spiritual grows! 🙌🏿🙏🏿 good luck on you journey!

I just big chopped my hair last week and this video is sooo relatable! I was holding onto dead, broken off hair, and now having is so short has inspired me into looking at hair care videos, supplements, ayurvedic routines, etc. It’s definitely been a struggle trying to find my ‘femininity’ with my short cut but i’m ready for the healthy hair journey!
Just always remember, your hair doesn’t make you strong. It’s within that makes you strong.

I know people don’t mean harm by complimenting your hair and not wanting you to cut it but it’s frustrating when people give unsolicited advice, call your reasons “dumb” and lack the understanding/compassion about it. Omg I’m sorry he made you feel that way. That’s a horrible experience. For some reason men have this stigma with long hair and if you cut it it’s less attractive to them I’m not sure why but as woman we need to do what makes us happy In the end and think of less what men think. On his part that’s horrible customer service to talk someone down about cutting there hair. It’s business over feelings he should’ve kept his comments to himself.

Clarece Leona you look beautiful with the cut and I can honestly say I received more positive comments with men and women with short hair than when it was long some men really love short hair it’s bold and shows confidence that your not hiding your face. I did the big chop too it’s a great experience just embrace it! And it will grow back so healthy!

Big chops are awesome. It looks better and beautiful short. Long hair is fine but it's not always the answer. Big chops really allow hair to flourish.

There's such a sad tone to this upload. I feel your heart break. Thank you for being so brave as to share such a huge part of your journey with us. Its real personal n you didn't have to but you've let us in. And it's very relatable. I've cut my hair serval times over. But each time there's those insecurities that come at some point of not feeling feminine. But it's growth and mindset changes that give us confidence in who we are as we are. We're all growing. I just did my big chop May 16 I had been growing locs for 8yrs I just cut them completely off my hair is shorter than your cut but I had to do it my roots were weak and damaged but I was so scared of change and to step outside my comfort zone. Everyone would always compliment my hair they didn’t know the damage I had going on cuz I would hide it ,everything that looks good isn’t good it’s gonna take me some time to get use to having short hair as well but I don’t regret my decision you look beautiful I love your cut😍😍😍

I NEED HELP... I'm honestly considering this, the only thing stopping me is a front section of my head doesn't curl at all not even to the root. I've been oiling it up with JMC and trying to manipulate it with twists to curl it but it won't go. I believe I have 4a hair but a looser texture of 4a. After washing my hair its jus so dry and not good. The rest of my hair curling wise is okay but it still spilt at the ends and damaged. I haven't put it under heat and honestly have been trying to keep it healthy. I think ill give it to the end of July and if nothing happens ill do it but I'm honestly scared and don't really know what's going to happen. This was extremely inspiring!!!!!
