- Aeroflot was once a Boeing 777 operator with ships VP-BAS & VP-BAU. Both decked out in this pretty wild color scheme. Here the same aircraft visits San Francisco and LAX. Both have since left the fleet and in service with other carriers.
Very nice! In this livery the nose looks a little bit like the old IL-86. Thanks for sharing!
Videospotter.de The Plane looks really angry
The paintjob on this BADASS plane made it more... umm.. BADASS!!
I miss these two birds :(
i like the way it looks
SU B777s are ,IMO, the most BADASS looking 777s EVER!!
fantastic!!! I never seen 777 aeroflot !! excellent video :-)
awesome video, great job:)
It is such a pleasure to see some Aeroflot 777 footage on you tube.
Sadly they only leased and operated them (only 2 I believe) for a short time. I think they were classic with the aeroflot cheat-lines and black color under the cockpit windows (what are these for by the way?) and with great looking engine and tail designs.
Although the current silver fuselage scheme of Aeroflot is very photogenic, the 777 one of a kind.
Landing at dusk, Priceless.
Thank you for this video. 5/5
Awesome. You're lucky to to get this rare shot.
The Boeing 777-200 or -300 is an excellent airplane for Aeroflot. Aeroflot should make it their flagship. Recently, 7 Russian pilots received awards from Boeing for having the highest grades for take-off/landings in both simulators and in real world conditions. The sad part is the Russian Federation is buying majority Airbus(also known as SCAREBUS).......
Oh that is so cool seeing the classic Soviet hammer and sickle with cyrillic aeroflot on a big modern American aircraft. Thanks for sharing with us.
What a spectacular approach and touchdown at 0:30! It's a pity Aeroflot doesn't operate 777 anymore. Maybe in a near future?
I like those sounds. Good job!
OK, now we wait when the SVO-SFO flight is restored as well))
beautiful. This vid is now in my favorites
I hope, our Aeroflot will return-back that sexy aircraft as b777. Sure, a330 with rr trents 700 is also very nice bird. but wish to see both of 777 and 330s together with aerflot :) here is B777-200ER with the biggest engine evere - GE90,sounds sexy during the idle-taxing from the sde and back
Lovely!!! Do you remember what a big deal it was back then that Aeroflot was flying Boeing 767s and 777s? My Lufthansa A321 pulled in next to one of these beauties at Moscow Sheremetyevo on my first visit to Russia in 2004 and all I could do was smile!
A lot has changed since this video was filmed, but my love for the 777 hasn't.
Right on!
Yes, the -200 were the first 777s to serve with Aeroflot.
Три топора хорош!
I have no idea why they only had their B772 for 7 years
You scratch my back, I scratch your back...
You buy buy my stuff, I buy your stuff...
@Starboard76 You are absolutely wrong! Aeroflot leased those planes from 1998 to 2005, the contract was signed for 7 years. When the contract was over they've ordered 2 Boeing 777-200ER, 6 Boeing 777-300ER and 26 Boeing 787-8. Plus they use other big planes (IL-96-300 for ex.). So plz don't make up anything!
@flashbiddy ..lol, that's a great suggestion as to what may have happened with regard to that scheme!
, yeah they're both airside clips. I shot one of these babies in Heathrow too from the queens bldg.
@harlequin75 ..thanks, but no so much luck, I had a little advance notice that Aeroflot was bring the 777 to LAX so I was able to prepare for it. But I also have this magnificently painted 777s in London and Beijing!..so plenty of footage of them!
5*****
nice video!
@Starboard76 Ah now I got it =))) LOL In our office we NEVER called our company as a SU, it's just the first two letters of a flight number for us. I worked there in a financial dpt. Bthw way nobody in Russia calls Aeroflot a SU, I guess that's a plainspotters theme =) The rest reply I've sent you as a PM.
@Starboard76 your welcome bro
very smoothie take off.... I'd like to be in this plane....
@TheBadkid1001 ..yeah, thanks for that but most of us who are into this stuff ...know that..plus in the video description below the video..it clearly states that Aeroflot ''once' flew the aircraft.
Its really nice to see the americans and russians getting along!
Despite the quality of your videos, they're fantastic to watch.
UMAD?
@EpiDemic117 really??? No, what i've heard, they really have the orders for perspective on B787 Drealiner and Airbus A350. But havent heard anything about B777s... :)
@11mrjarjar .you must be relatively new to commercial aviation, russian built airliners - were once the mainstay- of all Russian carriers. But when Transaero secured a few DC-10s and Aeroflot a few 767s (in the 1990s) - the russian aircraft were on their way out. And they've been hurried out since only the IL-96, IL-86, Yak-42 and the newer TU-204Ms & Sukhoi superjets will be around for some time to come. But Russian fleets are now flooded with Airbus A319s, A320s, A330s and Boeing models.
@varigdc10 cool..I still love Varig and luckily I have a lot of Varig video! I hope you took a look at my Varig MD11 video!
@AirCanadaA55555A Aeroflot did not own these 777s they were leased from a company in America
Aeroflot does not plan on owning any Boeings or Airbuses until about 2015 when their first ordered A350s and B787s arrive
This route no longer operates at SFO, neither the aircraft. I hate the airline but it was cool at SFO )=
I think they will be around longer than just some time to come... Remember that there are 235 orders for Sukhoi superjet100,94 options and 9 delivered.there are 40 Tu-204 in service and 113 on order... When it comes to SSJ100-95 there are even some western airlines that have it on order :D and German DHL have the Tu-204,so think some western airlines starting to see the benefits by ordering aircraft at only half the prize of Boeing and airbus, and still get the same safety...
this time it will be purchased instead of leased and will also be added alongside the 300ER
Good to see the americans and russians getting along together!
Soo.. how does it feel to an American to see a US Build Plane with Hammer and Sail on it?
Allan D. Pedersen You mean hammer and sickle
I think it's a hammer and sickle ... spellchecker, maybe. Anyway, When the Soviet era ended and they became Aeroflot Russian Airlines, Aeroflot made a strategic decision to not try to burnish or remove every hammer/sickle from the airline logo, as there were just too many to deal with ...
is it me, or does every russian pilot lands a hyge plane so steady and almost slowly like...
@YaropolkMSK 2) they would have! That is why they return the ships. Every airline on earth leases ships, the SU lease was no different. Aeroflot back then was not as aggressive and progressive as it is now. Today it recognizes it has fierce competition, thus the change & the A319s, A320s, A330s and now the 777s and 787s. SU is going in a new direction than when it operated the 2 777s. You act like the attitude then is the same as it is today. Learn some history before you lecture anyone!
Looks great in Aeroflot livery, shame they couldnt make use of the capacity and had to swap to an A330. Too much metal i suppose for the routes
@YaropolkMSK ..you are forgiven. But I'm confused..below you state that you worked for Aeroflot for a year, anyone with the smallest amount of airline knowledge in any country knows that 'SU' is the two-letter IATA code for Aeroflot. I am in no way talking about the Soviet Union it doesn't even make sense in the context of my statements. How can you work for Aeroflot and not know your company's own letter code?
And btw, I'm well studied in the history of at least 50 nations...incl USSR.
are those GE90 engines?
Indeed, an ex-Vietnam Airlines ship.
@YaropolkMSK ..it seems other than your 'year of working' at SU (Aeroflot) , your affiliations & interest in civil aviation is minimal. No one 'calls' Aeroflot 'SU'... but people with rounded airline knowledge even photog/videographers or aficionados - 'all' know that in 'written' form (of conversation/discussion)...SU is indeed Aeroflot. No one says 'SU' or AZ, 9W. Only 4 airlines are spoken in 'coded terms' universally, AA-American, UA - United Airlines, BA- British Airways & EK - Emirates.
Come on, there was no need for southwest to run away like that, Russians arent that bad.
I didnt know that aeriflot flew to SFO?
It was closed in 2005!
Personally..I'm not all that patriotic over commerce concerns..who knows, Southwest Airlines order 100 Sukhoi Super jets,
Перед чем-то напоминает Ил-86
aeroflot have 777?
maximus1383 now they have a 777-300 er with a new livery ...,search it up its s beautiful bird
Boeings look everytime very angry!
People have said that for years!
they belonged to vietnam airlines
@YaropolkMSK oh? Give me the name of an scheduled service airline that has been in service longer than 1 year .. that has not ever leased an aircraft. I guarantee you that you cannot. Everyone has done it or is doing it from Transaero, S7, Aeroflot to United, American to TAM to Cubana to Air Canada, etc..they have all done it.
So please...prove me wrong. Or be a man..and admit that you are wrong!
...then you should forgive me, but english isn't my native language, that's why some of your phrases bring me to a dead end, for ex.: "SU is going in a new direction than when it operated the 2 777s." Brrr... SU - you mean Soviet Union?! Then I don't get it. SU collapsed in 1991. And another your phrase telling me to learn some history provokes me to ask you to read once more what I've written to you for the 1st time, guess you got me wrong!
@Starboard76 Me not knowing what am I talking about? Huh... funny. Have spent more than a year working in Russian airlines (Aeroflot actually) and still have a good friend/collegue working there. Man, you know nothing about russian price market, and how it actually works. "Every airline on earth leases ships" - Uhhh... you forgot about secured lending (don't mix up with financial and operating leasing) and WOW you won't believe - direct owning! Never say EVERY airline on EARTH!...
Its "Sickle" not "sail".... A sickle is a curved knife for cutting crops... Sails are on boats.
Anyway - Do yo see the flag that's on this plane? That's the political entity that owns this plane... RUSSIA.....not the "hammer and sickle" of the Soviet Union anymore. That is just an old left over emblem.
And to answer your original question.. as An American it FEELS GREAT to see that. It means they Gave US the MONEY for the plane and not AIRBUS.
When the capitalism complete took over comunism: Aeroflot/Boeing.
Нелепо он смотрится в этой советской ливрее.
Это одно мнение ...
