I pre-ordered this and was extremely disappointed. I come from NASCAR diecasts which Lionel tends to do a very nice job replicating the actual car as it finished/parked in victory lane. They are mark for mark, scuff for scuff. My "raced" version of this only had two small sections of the brownish gray sprayed on the sides behind the front wheels and that was it. As a model builder it wasn't a problem because I ended up doing a much more detailed version of it but still disappointed. Though it does appear that every other brand does it the same way, just making it appear dirty, rather than photo/race accurate. All that aside, nice collection!
I felt somewhat the same way. I have seen much better replications of "raced" models from other companies. The "debris" on this model looks sprayed on up close, thus not very convincing. Despite that, the model sold out very quickly due to the uniqueness and historical representation.
Awesome cars!! Thanks for sharing.
