    Sir, your video was informative and well done. We have 2022 and agree with your assessment. Regarding the brake dust issue. So far that hasn’t been an issue for us. However, it was on our C7. We solved that by installing Carbotech pads. Now I must say the C7 did have the Z51 package and our C8 did not. I just didn’t feel it was worth the extra expense. Saying that if you plan on tracking the car the Z51 package is a MUST option. Again your video was very well done. Cheers!

    Your keyfob could have been cloned by someone outside of your house. This is why I keep my fob in a Faraday box when its in my house, and use a Faraday pouch when Im out in restaurants, bars, etc.

    Thanks for your video. A few comments come to mind.. You didn't create the problem by switching to track mode on the track. Being there is no documentation that says you can't do that, it should've worked. Regarding the brake dust, there is no hard and fast solution besides changing to non-performance ceramic brake pads. Lastly, I would've called onstar if my car started unknowingly. They should've been able to tell what initiated the start. As someone in IT, the first thing that comes to mind is your account got compromised. I would definitely recommend changing your passwords to something secure.
    Great color! I narrowed it down to your blue and red mist tintcoat. Ultimately, I ended up with red mist tintcoat but still love that blue.

    About the complaints. Although annoying (no rock guard is very annoying) I'm glad they weren't like "stays in the shop," or "big puddles of oil on garage floor." Great owner, real life review. Thanks! 👍

    Great video and nice car! The issue with the car starting on its own could have been in relation to the keys in the purse. If something heavy enough shifted in the purse and leaned onto the key fob in just the correct position, I can see this as the culprit.

    We have a 2007 we purchased new and it only has 38K miles. Most of the problems we have had were due to lack of quality during original manufacturing. One shifter would no longer come out of park and 2nd gas fumes from the gas tank. Both of these repairs were quite costly and not covered under warranty. Great cars but I would expect more for the money!

      That is 2 generations of cars ago. And the 6th gen was built from 2005 thru 2013. We have had a 2007 (that was great) and a 2013 Grand Sport Convertible.
      Loved them both...

    I had the same problem with a 2006 trying to start by itself ! Brought it to Auto Nation chevrolet in Pembroke Pines Fl and the guy didn’t believe me.. he kept it for a day and it did it again. Finally it was an electrical problem with the starter switch !

    I bought my C8 and it is now a little over a year old and I have to agree with the comments. Especially the heated and cooled seats and the charger placement. I was suprised how hot the trunk got but I don't use this car for food shopping and if I do it just a short drive to the store. I don't have any way near 12 K more like 3,700 miles. The blank screne happened only once, so I'm not worried about that. The ceramic coat is a must paid $1,800. Mine is a 2LT with Z51, the 2LT is also highly recomended. This is a great car and for the money one of the best sports car in the world!

    Nice Video. FYI, I have a 2022 Coupe 3800 mi and had the dash pod going black at startup and when driving I used the stop and walk away with the FOB and then restart and it also would be OK. It started to occur too often I took the Vette in to my dealer they attempted to reprogram the pod and it would not take the down load, GM had them replace the Dash pod still NG. It took a week, but GM figured out the fix with two different program down loads. So far so Good Hope this helps.

    This is the best Corvette Chevy has ever built, and waiting to buy the car for 40 years, believe me I know. Leach Wilson Chevy in Shelbyville IL is selling me, my build of the car a C8 3LT Z06 with the Z07 package for MSRP. Aaron is my sales rep and he, as well as the rest of the sales reps, have been awesome. They are selling my build at MSRP, and as soon as I get it I will post it on line. These guys need to be commended for being so honest, and willing to work with the customer. They are way better than any other dealer I've dealt with.
    Most of the dealers are out for themselves, its not that they aren't making enough money but they want to gouge for more. I had one dealer try to sell me a used Z06 that didn't have the Z07 package for over $ 210K??? Golf Mill was the worst they told me they didn't want my build that they would order what they wanted and auction it off to the highest bidder. These guys need to be boycotted.

  • @Da0R30
    @Da0R30 ปีที่แล้ว

    First off, great review and love your honesty. Now for some things to help you enjoy your car more. To start, Ceramic coat it! You’ll love the result and the benefits of it. It’ll help keep the car cleaner and makes cleaning it easier. Also you can Ceramic coat majority of the car to include the wheels and glass too. Which would help in your fight against brake dust on the wheels. Ceramic coating your C8, and any other vehicle you have, is very much worth it and very beneficial. You can choose to get it professionally installed or get a diy kit (Amor Shield) and do it yourself. If you go the diy route just know that even though the application may be quick and easy, the prep to apply is more time consuming and the more attention spent in that part the better the results after application. Hope this helps!

      @Da0R30 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also forgot to mention that you can add heat shield matting to the trunk area that faces the engine to reflect heat and keep trunk temperatures lower so you can store things in there and keep them cool.

      @@FindtheRightRoad But it's possible there are electronic devices available on the internet that can do a "sweep" of things such as the Apple Air Tag, before stealing it. Thieves today are always one step ahead of manufactures' anti-theft efforts.

    • @mikefalz10
      @mikefalz10 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FindtheRightRoad Not really a great strategy. Consumer technology like that is kindergarten stuff for professionals and it doesn't prevent them from getting the car. At best you'll find it wrecked or stripped to a shell (chopped for parts) if they don't get it to a barge to China for resale @ 3 times retail. Go old school. Prevent the theft with something like a professionally installed/well hidden fuel/ignition/power cut off switch. Can't be hacked.

I once purchase the top of the line battery for my Hayabusa motorcycle it died 7 months bought a cheap piece of crap from China 25% the price lasted me 4 years and still going the bottom line the guy was correct the guy was screwed with the price options are inflated.

    Great review. I highly recommend a ceramic coating. I have Kamikaze ISM Coat 3.0 on my Audi, and absolutely love it. It will make your C8 look like it’s been dipped in glass. Water will run right off it. Getting the rims coated won’t keep the brake dust off them, but the dust will come off much easier. Make sure you use one designed for rims, or the heat will destroy the coating. Think about having the leather coated as well.

    With 12K on the odometer and performance tracked on occasion, at what MILAGE do you anticipate replacing the TIRES ?!? Also, will you stay with the Michelin Pilots or possibly try Continental's latest products ?!? Best of Luck ! 🚘🔍. 🤔

    Car starting in the garage by itself is a big deal, a very big deal!
    Corvette owners should be 10 feet up GM's backside.
    You can kill your family of C/O poisoning!
    The car is gorgeous!

    At 12k miles, you are "hopeful" that the electronic system doesn't crap out? And a ghost started the car? $85,000? I like lemons too but only in my tea!

      Dude, $85k is cheap for the performance you get with this car.

      They should be fine. The whole catch can thing is very overblown on newer cars like this... The LT2 has a catch can style system built into the motor....

    Do you still have the standard track pads for the Z51? Those are dusty as heck! Swap em out and no more issue.

    I’ll give you $23,000 for it. As for the car starting on its own. I had my garage door start closing on me, and I was freaking out. Could not figure out why. Went into the app and found out it was timed to close every night at 10pm. But I never set it. Nor did I even open the app. I think it’s aliens playing with us.

    Certain angles on these base C8s are just not good. The proportions are way off. The Z06 fixes this.

    Put ceramic coating on the rims when you have the car done. Brake dust will come right off. Just make sure the rims are clean before you have it done.
