- Stardew Valley is a game that heavily encourages you to have a diverse, and bountiful inventory, but what if we didn't do that? What if we did a Challenge Run of Stardew Valley where we only used one item? Like if we beat Stardew valley using only trash? OR beat Stardew using only wine?

Appreciate the ingenuity, truly. But if you go the joja route, did you REALLY beat stardew valley?

My only goal in stardew is to make so much money in one day that it breaks the money counter. And I mean the one that's always on screen not the sell one over night, that one can be brocken with just some wine cheds

Wouldn't you be able to considerably speed up the Trash Route using recycling machines? If I recall correctly, refined quartz sells for 100g, and the occasional cloth from Soggy Newspaper sells for considerably more
yes, but i wanted to ONLY sell trash for this example, but i could try this in a future part :0
a gripe i had was that you only took one day's results into account for your cola calculations (colculations? colacations?). i would suggest doing several days' worth and taking the average, or just datamining their drop rate
Thoughts what i thought this video was going to do aswell, I would like a video that does just this, it would be far more reasonable

For all the trash enjoyers out there, I find the best spot is Level 100 of the mines. I usually get around 20 colas a day. There's only one fish possible to catch in that spot (the Lava Eel), which is very difficult to catch, so you normally end up dropping it and going back to trash-fishing - but if you do manage to catch one, they are one of the most valuable fish to put in fish ponds, so it's a win-win. Level 100 is quite a lot of effort, so if you want a slightly less rewarding trash experience, the other fishable spots in the mines work fine as well. (those being floors 20 and 60).
This is exactly what I did for the Linus quest!! Got my Lava Eel first try while also getting a TON of trash

@@EggsBenedict1 i'm not sure if there's actual math on the wiki but i know that when i tried to fish up trash in the pond to do Linus' request to fish trash out of the water, it felt like it went significantly slower than it did going and fishing in the mines. it may be that the pond has a lower spawn rate in general since its Just trash so you don't get a bite on the line as often whether its trash or not. plus i think you can right click with a fish hooked and it'll just cancel the catch so it's very easy to remove the extra time trying to catch lava eels would take if you are specifically looking for just trash

i watch dagnel's videos a lot, and seeing him mentioned in a seanie dew video was absolutely not something i was expecting, though i guess acnh and sdv have a significant overlap in players. much love from a fan of both

The Joja cola could scale up a bit if you get lures to increase your bite rate. Only a bit, though.
I think the bait only applies to fish, so instead of trash you'd get more fish
@@fzwolo6513 I could have sworn that the bite rate just counted seconds until you get a bite, not that it determined what was on the line. That’s how I’ve always used things like dressed spinners. But it’s very possible I’m wrong.

Aren't you leveling up your foraging skill with the spring onions so you get more from gold star ones. Also the wood can sell for more with a skill.

For the wood route, you could always select the forester profession at foraging level 5 and get 25% more wood with each tree, which would cut down on the overall amount of trees needed. Also with the spring onions, you could probably cut the time needed down further once you get to foraging level 10 and pick the botanist profession, making every onion you pick up iridium quality and either 16g or 80g with the spring onion mastery, bringing it down to only about 9 years (you'd probably need at least a year to get the foraging skill level up as well as 8 hearts with Jas and Vincent), so it could probably be done in under 10 years total, making it equal to the joja cola route.
10 in-game years but probably way less real world time since the spring onion days would be way shorter only at most a minute
Don't forget about double harvesting. That's about another 2 years less. So, like 8 or 7 years I guess
I feel like one of the really time consuming ones like Joja Cola could be a streamer's running gag. Like at the end of every stream he does one day of fishing for cola. It would end up being a huge streaming milestone when he actually finished.

Th only issue is how do you afford this? It costs 3000 g for that but if you can only make money from star fruit how do you go from the 500 g starting funds to 3000? You get 500 g from your parents so you can afford one star fruit seed from the travelling merchant, but the Luau star fruit is out of reach.

I just had an idea an I'll try "Beat SDV with only a pickaxe". Like you can plant crops later once you have access to bombs to till the soils.
"later" may be sooner than you think with cherry bombs from duggies and crabs, not to mention how perfect they would line up for t1 sprinklers, but that is a LOT of investment for a very small return. Also, since we are talking about the pickaxe, how would you rule with weapons, watering can, and the scythe? scythe is needed for crop harvesting, watering can for obvious reasons considering limited access to rain totems without an axe (because hardwood), and weapons are all but required when entering the mines or their variants.
You would also need a weapon. SInce the only way to buy bombs is the dwarf, you need to find the four scrolls which are in the mines. Good with a pickaxe, but I doubt that will be enough to kill monsters in your way and potentially drop scrolls when they die.

@@sonwquinhas i missed the word "certain". Generally speaking, no, the scythe isnt required, but there are a select few crops it is needed for, and depending on your personal end goal, those crops make it required, at least in vanilla CC.
You can also buy a starfruit at the luau to put into a seed maker. Of course, you need lvl 9 farming to get the seed maker in the first place if doing the joja route, since the only other sources of them are skull cavern treasure rooms and a reward from the dye bundle on the bulletin board.
You could just buy 140000 starfruit from said festival, but you would go to year, I don't remember the amount of wine you need.

you can get trash much faster by using the water right outside of the spa. it can only give trash and infinite copies of the same painting. but it is frozen over in winter
The spring onion route would also potentially be even longer due to the egg festival which takes out one day of the month.
you can avoid the events by just waiting a couple hours
@@EgansChannel you also get out of the festival at 10pm, which is more than enough time to run to cindersap and pick up the spring onions.
But egg festival doesn’t lock put cindersap.the flower dance does though

Dwarf scrolls sell for 1g so if you wanted to make it extremely long have fun in the mines grinding for dwarf scrolls

i think fishing for the colas would take longer, since for the onions you’re just going to Cindersap and picking up onions
For the spring onions, you could forage for other things or cut down wood (spring onions don't give exp) to level up your foraging skill, as the lvl 10 all iridium quality applies to spring onions, and that together with spring onion mastery can make them sell for a decent amount of money
Spring onions give 3xp according to the wiki.

I’ve already watched this video but I came back to say, I tried to find the best place to find trash for Linus’ special request, and turns out the fastest way to get trash was in the mine lakes! There are places I didn’t test so maybe that’ll change once I test more spots but so far that was the easiest way to fish up trash :)

I have currently started playing stardew 1 month ago. I first thought this game was boring af but now I'm at 1 million gold and completed all profession levels. It's really entertaining and I'm glad there's still a TH-camr doing stardew content. New subb👌
Nah, if you want the most trash, fish on level 100 in the mines. I get about 60 peices of trash before even the opportunity of catching a fish
OK, but you start out with 500 g. So, how do you get the money for the first rare seed?
You could wait to get a letter from your dad that gives you 500g. For some reason the letter is only sent to female farmers (if I’m remembering correctly)
gifting to villagers is not selling, and lewis and pierre occasionally send money to friends... Still likely to delay the process by a year, though, simply by limitations to growing friendship. By the same logic, you could try and rules lawyer into allowing help and bulletin board quests...
Merging individual funds into a shared pool on multiplayer could also work.
@@ahzayoc1207 you are correct. Female farmers get letters from dad, who gives you money, and Male farmers get letters from mom, who sends things like cookies.

I’m pretty sure that there’s some festival where Pierre sells individual starfruit (not seeds) so you probably could get the wine without the seed from Gunther given enough time

Does catching trash increase fishing level? If so it will probably take less time than 11 years, since with lvl-ups maximum catch time shortens. Also since you tested amount of joja cola you getting per day for only a single day there is high margin of error, considering you got 6-7 pieces of other trash it might be the case that you just got unlucky and average joja yeild numbers were underestimated.(it is also possible that you got really lucky and got way more cola than you're supposed to)
wait have you seen dagnel’s video where he starts with a paper tiger and trades on nookazon until he can pay off a house loan? it’s so good and you should see if you can try and do something like that in stardew!

They are fairly easy to get early game and they sell for 500 each. I managed to get all the money that I needed by my first fall.

Lewis ignores the CC for ages than has magical beings fix it for him in exchange for forcing the farmer to spend years collecting them presents.
Joja tells you how much it will costs than pays its workers, in useable currency, to do it.

couldnt you also work on foraging level till you got the perk that lets everything you pick be iridium quality? wouldnt iridium quality spring onions, with jas and vincent's ability make it actually feasible? if of course tedious and still long, but not impossibly so?

I'd say the worst way to pay out the warehouse is like :
only using the trash can and no other item and only sell something stupid like cactus fruit or a specific dish
I mean if you are going to spend years getting spring onions, you may as well spend some time getting your foraging up during the first year. If your numbers are accurate, you are looking at about 9 years (maybe 10 if you are looking at only selling the iridium ones). More testing needed of course.

Honestly, the spring onions strat sounds like a good idea, since you can sleep off rest of the days and years when you are not picking nor on the way of picking the spring onions.

By all technicality you can technically complete the community center with 1 item by only buying the items needed for bundles from the traveling cart if you get lucky on the remixed bundles (there are 1 bundle that would need a special case the rare crop bundle as it is the only one that can replace a bundle that require certain rarities). (This does allow for things like wheat to be bought and processed into wheat flour and seeds of crops to be bought and used, the main rule would be no using either jojamart or Pierre's for seeds or such)
Using speed gro on blueberries gives an extra harvest, doesn’t seem worth it until you realise you need even fewer blueberry plants (less watering in total since less plants)
My sister was on chemo in 2018 and spent a lot of time at home, she was either playing stardew, sleeping or at the hospital. In a span of 4 months, she got to either year 5 or 6, she married shane, and got to 100%. Now that 1.5 has come out, she has a lot more to do. And for once, I know more about stardew than she does!

I'm on day 2 of fall in year 17, in my first playthrough. But, I started a second game to try out the new farm layout and I prefer that game so much - utilizing all the lessons learned from my first playthrough - that I've pretty much abandoned the first.

You could also use snow yams winter roots or clay, as all of these are clay farmable, i get an average of 80 snow yams per day which is about 8000g per day, that means it would take you around 18 days of snow yam farming.

Putting broken glasses or broken CDs in the recycling machine turns it into a Refined Quartz, which sells for 50g each.
Aka 2,800 Broken CDs/Broken glasses to complete the Joja route.

Huh. I personally fish out sometimes 3 to 5 joja cola back to back and then couple here and there in the small pond. But I play on 4 corners farm and it's already 1.6 update, so maybe something changed.
I fish trash for glasses when I need refined quartz, it's easier and quicker than going to the mines haha
Crab pots can give you trash so you could speed it up a lot with that.
