Been living in Vista since March of 2022. Vista Village is nice. Lots of good places to eat, Cineopolis movie theater, and finish the evening off with either Handel's homemade ice cream or Little Cakes (3 time Cupcake Wars champion). Been downtown a dozen or more times and no homeless or street crime. Also a nice farmer's market on Saturday. Very convenient being in the center of the Tri-cities area plus San Marcos. Carlsbad Mall just down the road. Not as nice as La Jolla Village Square but will do in a pinch.

Love me some Handel's. Thanks for sharing all the insight. Great stuff!

Lol. Ive been living here my whole life and it's turning more into a dumpster fire every day. If they do end up turning the old Vons into a homeless shelter that'll be the final nail in the coffin

Went to 3 open houses this last weekend, Vista and 2 Escondido. 1.2 -1.5 price level... FIRST, only one had a Realtor present . Second , no sign in sheet for 2 homes, 1 had sign in sheet me showing up 3:30 being the second person that day ,Saturday. These 3 homes were in need of major work from roofing to pool equipment, new bathrooms etc.. My evaluation is that these sellers are DELUSIONAL. One seller was in the house watching a football game . 2 of those homes now in the FIRE Severity Zone. The owner told me he NOW has to pay 7,000 per year and that is the final straw that broke him. I would say 700-800 on these home.

Grew up in Vista. Could hear the pheasants calling in the fields. Carried my .22 around on my bike and met up with friends at the quarry to shoot cans. Was a great place to be! 60 years ago!

Relocated from Oceanside and big improvement sorry to say as I really wanted O'side and her game plan more in line with mine, but Esther Sanchez. The walkability score in my new Vista neighborhood has got to be 90% or better with multiple bus nearby stops. The Farmers Market is such a great meeting-shopping spot every Saturday. Brengle Terrace always has something going on, Vista seems to engage their residents much better than O'side. What about hiking the caldera? Yes! Best dog parks anywhere‼️ Steam engine museum, original rancho open to the public, and 10 minutes from the great Pacific. My only gripe is the Sheriff situation, no police and most of us know there is gang infiltration, graft, corruption and a conduct of secrecy to protect the ranks statewide. Let's hope with new leadership ( in LA, it's a start,) we get genuine serve & protect.

Has it gotten any better? Thinking about transferring out there to get closer to LA for more acting gigs

@@thegreatdebateshow2680 on GOOGLENEWS there's an article on how O'side finally got hip ( LATimes too but subscribers only.) Seems the latest city council has managed to work around Mayor Sanchez but whether you partake or not, the city still has no dispensaries which is a load of lost tax revenue. Seabird hotel a beautiful addition to O'side, is mentioned in said article but their root top bar HELLO BETTY was poorly managed and moving out of the space. Our beautiful pier suffered a fire weeks ago and is open but wounded. Nick Miele a realtor I like here, tell him Dawn sent cha💁🏼‍♀️
