I personally disagree having Comanche and Apache blood. They were savages not peaceful at all according to the Putnam family or Matilda kidnapped by them . The midkiff family the Houston's. The natives were not hairy hippies. They were savages and warriors

I first saw Tommy Lee Jones in the soap opera he was in, and I fell in love with this intelligent, genius of a man, of an actor. I continue to watch everything I can with him in it, and appreciate and learn from his fabulous intuition and knowledge. He is a gift to the world of acting, to the WORLD!!!
My favorite scene in Lonesome Dove was when Tommy is with Robert, and Gus is dying. That whole scene made me cry. Every time I see that scene, I cry. Such a beautiful moment and wonderful movie! Tommy is such a special actor!
The first candid visit I have ever experienced with the consummate actor from my lifetime, beside Robert Duval of course, and it was beyond any expectation I had imagined in my 60+ years. I first decided to study Mr. Jones after VHS came out and I rented Black Moon Rising. Not an epic character but done so flawlessly you were convinced this man was out there somewhere. I had been too busy trying to survive prior to have seen any of his previous work, but thankful to live in a time where access is unlimited. Lonesome Dove should be a national treasure.
James Lipton needs to get his story straight about Tommy Lee Jones' heritage. I'm a Cherokee Indian and his Mother was Cherokee , for goodness' sake. I can see that he would get along well with James Garner, who acted with him in Space Cowboys. I like how authentic Tommy Lee is and how detailed he is in this interview

My husband shared a limo ride to Palo Alto from the airport. He was a big fan of Mr Jones. They never spoke a word to each other during the entire ride. I asked Why? He said, the actor didn’t seem to want to be bothered. After seeing this wonderful interview, what a shame. My husband was very well read, very into football, loved horses, no ego and a man of honor and principles. What a shame Tommy Lee Jones missed that opportunity to meet a very great guy!

SUGGESTION: One way to avoid uncomfortable moments about someone's heritage would be to make no assumptions but simply ask what one's ethnic roots are. And if the answer is, say, Welsh, you might mention you've heard he has some Native American roots and if so, you'd love to know more about his Native heritage.
Very disappointed that the cult film Rolling Thunder was not covered. Quentin Tarantino named his production company after it because of his love of the film. Mr Jones was brilliant in it.

When Tommy Lee made the comment that he believes is acting skills came not from the air but from the dirt everybody broke out and laughter. It was a serious comment accompanied by inappropriate laughter from the audience. Look of confusion on his face at the outburst made me feel sad he wasn't being taken seriously. After this, I guarantee you he'll never do another interview again

SUGGESTION: One way to avoid uncomfortable moments about someone's heritage would be to make no assumptions but simply ask what one's ethnic roots are. And if the answer is, say, Welsh, you might mention you've heard he has some Native American roots and if so, you'd love to know more about his Native heritage.
Very disappointed that the cult film Rolling Thunder was not covered. Quentin Tarantino named his production company after it because of his love of the film. Mr Jones was brilliant in it.
