      @@zackpalmer2824 no, I have a rebuilt trans so I can’t add it to the top because it’s a different top. Do you know what bolt I have to take out to add the fluid to the side?

      @@matthewphipps7240 you have the NV4500 right? It should be a bolt with a hex pattern on it, it’s on the passenger side of the transmission, if you need pictures then lmk on Instagram. I’d love to help if I can. If you want to overfill it there is a way to do it instead of going through the top as well.

    That is not the correct fluid for these transmissions. New venture used a carbon fiber material in the synchros in these boxes. The original fluid spec is Castrol Syntorq synthetic 75W-90 GL-4 manual transmission fluid. Amsoil also makes an acceptable replacement fluid.

      Yes I know that, I looked for the Castrol oil but they didn’t have it, I figured a fluid change would be better than not since I was going on a road trip that day and had little time so I could go to a bunch of stores, I recently just burnt my clutch because I’m over 350hp with my setup so I’ll be removing the transmission so I’ll get the right fluid in there. But thanks for the comment. 🤙🏼

    I was wondering if you put anything on the drain bolt/plug to seal it.

      I think I put Teflon Tape.

    Did you notice any difference using this fluid. How did the shifting feel. Will you use it again.

    • @zackpalmer2824
      @zackpalmer2824  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hard to say, I think it felt nicer to shift but that could just be in my head. I would go with the recommended Castrol fluid but if I had to I wouldn’t mind using this fluid again.

      Make sure you use GL4 fluid or you'll smoke your synchros.

    RedLine MT85 is the best fluid for these transmissions…
