Mohammed Ali Do you not realize how much weight is being put on those crispies? Regular cake batter would be crushed under that weight. The cake would collapse if it was regular batter. It is just for decoration. You try making that out of cake batter. Plus he even said that the actual cake was the engine. None of the big cakes he make are meant to be eaten and the people who order then know that. Think before you talk shit about someone who can do something you can never do.

This actually took place 10 years ago! My daughter was in college at Johnson and Wales in Baking and Pastry in Charlotte and they used some of the students to assist in making the cakes (which she was one of them) and decorating the car! Not sure why it took that many years for it to get posted!

Clients only need the sculpture for one day, so they get a cake sculpture, which, while expensive for a cake, is cheap for a sculpture. Clients get a cool sculpture for their event and get to say that it’s actually cake! At least, I think that’s what happens
