    I really enjoy your videos , would you consider doing a video regarding spacing between the stator and explaining it in a little more detail ? I only have 90mm fan units at the moment but I’d like to improve the sound of them a little more if possible . Also an explanation of cheat holes and how they change the sound of the edf . Keep up the excellent videos my friend I look forward to the next ones

      Great Video!
      Thank you for the .stp files for the battery holder. I printed enough for 6 packs and ordered the batteries today.
      Do you have any data on how many cycles you get on the li-ion packs with your flying style.

    Hi Woitek, like some other guys below I'm curious how you made the modifiction of the 110 Jetfan. I will finish my Viper over the wintertime, bought an uncoverd version and covered the whole plane with 50gr. glas and epoxy, finish spray painted. Intended touse a WeMoTec 100 but now I have to reconsider to change to Ejet 110 with 8s if weight can be reduced - 110 EDF/motor weighs sure more then 100 EDF.

    Congratulations with excellent work, flying and video! I have been in the rc hobby for 55 years. Working with DF (K&B 105, and OS91VRDF engines with RamTec fan back in the old day's) also with Jet turbines/big jet airplanes since they came on the marked. And now, I join in with EDF. I am very impressed with your craftsmanship, and that you go down to the "root system" and do the perfect finish as is one of the most important things, - and that gives the Perfect Results. Eveything matters, as we know. Again Congratualtions! I follow you with great interest and joy! Keep up with the good work.If possible i would be happy to reach you by e mail? Thank you. Best regards, John Lee up in Norway.

    Hi Wojtek, my BH Viper is on order !
    I was planning Jetfan-110 and 40T 8S12000 for being light but didn't know yet about the motor and you just made it, amazing !
    You experimented so many setups on this frame chasing the best one, getting better and better, and I guess you reached it now.
    Very impressive flight again and great skills albeit the cross wind, bravo !
    BTW do you know the static thrust of this setup ?

    Hi Wojtek. Very nice setup for Viper....
    When you say you moved the rotor 1cm from the stator what have you done? A longer adaptor to the motor and rotor or did you modified the shroud?

    Good morning. I really like your videos, I learn a lot from them. I bought the Black Horse Viper 1.88m model, and I want to apply an automotive varnish to the fuselage to give it a glossy finish. The problem is that I'm afraid of applying the varnish and ruining the plastic that covered the fuselage.
    I ask you, what brand or type of varnish you applied to the plane. Do you know if, when preparing the viper body for varnishing, it was necessary to sand the body for the varnish to adhere?
    Thanks

    Hi Wojtek, very nice setup! Did you find a good 6s lipo setup for Jetfan 110 please? Something also around 3kW.
    How do you find installed thrust of Jetfan 110 vs Midi Fan Evo 100? Do they both breathe as well in the Viper?

    YOUR VIDEOS ARE VERY COOL...I HAVE A BH VIPER, AND I'M IN DOUBT WHETHER I INSTALL A WEMOTEC 100MM EDF WITH HET MOTOR 700-83-1080, WHICH HAS A VERY REALISTIC TURBINE SOUND, OR I INSTALL A 110MM EDF WITH HET MOTOR 700-98-840. I WANT TO INSTALL AN ENGINE THAT HAS A REALISTIC TURBINE SOUND.

  • @jagman_singh
    @jagman_singh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great setup!! Are you ever going to use a Turbine engine instead of an EDF in your jets? If you buy a turbine engine, it might actually cost you the same as big EDF setup.

    • @tonysmith7702
      @tonysmith7702 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      EDF set up cost as much as a turbine, how so?. EDF $160, motor $160, ESC $100, BEC $15, Batteries $100-150. Roughly $560 dollars for the EDF set up in this jet. A turbine cost a lot more and the fuel and oil, each time you fly the turbine on top of its $2000 plus price tag.

    • @jagman_singh
      @jagman_singh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tonysmith7702 you're talking about cheap 70-90mm edfs from hobbyking or freewing. A high quality schuebler EDF fan/motor like the schuebeler DS-82 120mm edf would cost $600-$ 1000alone. Then a castle 120amp ESC is $300. Then batteries are additional cost . For 4 6s 5000mah gensace lipos for a 10,000mah 12s setup would cost $800. And Li-ion battery setup would even more. So total is roughly $1700 usd for EDF setup for a plane like the Oddesey. You can buy a used 80-100 newton turbine for 1500 dollars and a brand new one for $2000 usd. So the price is very identical when you move in the big EDF setups. With a turbine you get more flight time and the beautifully sound. And the plane will fly faster even with a smaller turbine compared to a EDF.

    • @tonysmith7702
      @tonysmith7702 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jagman_singh Sorry but not identical. The price I gave is for all new stuff. The price that I came up with, is for the stuff he has in the plane in this video. Jetfan 120 is $230. He is not using a jet fan 120. He is using a Jetfan 110 $160. He is using HET motor price $160. Schuebler 120 edf $319 Castle ESC 120 $234. He is using Li -ion in this plane.
      Schuebler 120 $319
      HET Motor $160
      Castle Creation 120 ESC HV $234
      Battery $150 -$200
      I do not know where you are getting your prices from, but the setup is still way less than a turbine. Even a lot less than a used turbine. See above prices.
      Prices from Fanjet USA, Efflux RC, Castle creations and 18650 batteries

    • @tonysmith7702
      @tonysmith7702 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jagman_singh Now if you are talking about the Odyssey, The EDF is a lot more money about $200 more. JetFan 130, $550. All the other prices for the components are about the same. Complete EDF setup in the Odyssey is still a lot less than a turbine. Even a used one. Flight time on his Odyssey, was 6.5 mins

    • @EDFjetRC
      @EDFjetRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Guys I calculated it soooo many times already and a new to new or used to used Turbine - EDF is roughly 2:1 in price tag. But on our airfield we are just not allowed to fly turbines as the sound emisions are few times higher than EDF. We are sorounded by city, normal private houses that people live in and we have to keep the sound levels low. So for me there is just no question EDF or Turbine :)
