Man I tell myself I know everything about Mercy after playing with her for 6 years and getting to GM, but you always find some tip or trick that I didn’t previously know. Thanks for the advice! Go slay, Mercy queens ❤
Yessss and Mercy parkour not only helps with ga usage but if you pay attention there’s usually some pretty interesting positioning spots and flight paths u can actually use in game, i used to play one on gebralter and my positioning on that map went from horrid to the enemies cant find me at any given moment😂
The white bubble that you showed early in the video to demonstrate visualizing 15 meters was brilliant. That helped me a lot. Another great video, thanks as always Niandra :D
I hate the cognitive dissonance of "omg I really want/need to Valk to save this teammate" and "if I Valk this teammate will almost certainly die because of beam detachment so I need to not Valk". It just always feels bad, and I hope they some day fix the beam disconnect component.
Omg thank you for the low sens advice! I appreciate such a thoughtful community and company for people who have big mousepads and controllers, can't wait to get fuc-
2:38 This got a good laugh out of me! I really like the way you bring personality to your guides. It's great to have a laugh in between consuming the information. Information which was helpful btw! Thank you!
Yup, muscle memory is definitely my main ennemy.. But I'm doing better since I'm getting used to the changes. I'd still say I miss the old GA cooldown anyway
I have a bit of a pet peeve. It's so crucial to "familiarize yourself with max beam length" but I keep saying Blizzard should just add an indicator or animation for when your beam is breaking. I genuinely think it would be the biggest QoL change next to diff sensitivity for mercy gun. But whenever I mention it, it's always met with dismissal "it's unnecessary when you get good at mercy and familiarize yourself with max beam length". It's so annoying like it literally doesn't harm you and it helps with learning so why is everyone so against it
i wouldn't be opposed to it as long as it was a toggle-able setting. some people like myself don't need more stuff going on screen that isnt necessary. realistically you will just get used to her range. do you think people who play lucio pay attention to his support radius? no, they don't the only UI element that i can think of that is sorely lacking in the game at the moment is Brig's Inspire.
When it comes to sympathetic recovery I think it's great outside of valk, but in valk I usually find that'd I would have liked to have her constant regen. I guess that's not so bad though since valk is considerably stronger given the healing buff
I'm definitely getting better and better. I'm still only a bronze player but I've pushed my winning percentage to 51 precent. I can only go up! Thank you ☺️
Not gonna like, learning to master the new microtechniques to optimize Guardian Angel is something I've been enjoying... I'd still like the cooldowm to be shorter, but I never realized just how much brainless GA I've been doing before.
Yesterday I was able to keep my team alive throughout a whole BOB and a Dynamite! I’ve been adapting quite successfully to the changes but the GA nerf is still pretty annoying. Loved the video!
this is super useful information, i found that before the changes i did quite well with mercy. but i've definitely dropped since then so hopefully over time i will be able to adapt and get back to where i once was. since the changes ive been a little discouraged to play as mercy with the thoughts that maybe i'm really just bad with the character but i did solo queue myself up to plat before so maybe i'll be able to use these tips and maybe itll help me. thank you so much for this.
I hit diamond (3200) with mercy mostly soloqing in ow1, and reached masters 4 in ow2 before the changes, but bc of my playstyle the changes made me have to back off and basically relearn the hero, i cant be as aggressive as i was before and it’s miserable🥲
@@pinkcheetah7777 tbh yeah i feel this. i dropped in rank because i was struggling at first. i am slowly adjusting and working my way back up again but it really does suck honestly lol.
This incredible helpful information, I'm a Baptiste player who's looking to genuinely expand my ability across the support role I enjoy so much. this information is probably going to be the difference between me weighing down my time and actually contributing something as I slowly start to understand the characters.
Wait, 2CP maps are still accessible in the game? That's nice. Lot of good design work on those old maps, lot of early OW personality. Did my heart good both to see Hanamura again, and to see it used just to illustrate points and not actually play a match on 😅
as a console mercy main, best thing i can say is begin to get used to high sensitivity. Those quick flicks to GA elsewhere or just to look where your allies are is very helpful!
I don't think this pushes her to healbot, though, since the critical health healing boost pushes you to take more risks with damage boost. I think it will be a lot more common for lower ranked Mercy mains to blue beam a lot more now.
1) Use your allies as a medkit. 2) Use your allies as a shield. 3) This Genji will die soon anyway. Yes, he needs healing, but do I care? 4) Use bugs. 5) Duel enemy Mercy if possib... if they're exposed. Now I like this new Mercy much more!
I’m a pretty aggressive mercy player and I gotta say I agree with you. What I’ve been doing recently is pocketing an aggressive/flank dps and hard dmg boost them while we’re front line/in their back line, it’s a little more fun than sitting in a corner watching ur team die bc ur healing output just cant keep up with ur feeding tank
Your tips are so helpful. Omg. Top 500/GM on console and every single one of these tips is perfect. Thank you so much. These videos will help the other Mercy Bees succeed so I can play Kiriko more >:D
Question about 7:36 - if I linger post Valk on a tank and it does the lower hps and I stay on it and suddenly the tank starts taking critical damage I could in theory continue extending the Valk boost with the critical bonus as well?? And gain that much more ult charge? That actually may have some practical purpose of being more deliberate about starting Valk early to maximize this.
What I’ve started doing when i have a reliable dps to pocket (usually a soldier) i’ll stick with them and only heal till their above crit, I’ll dmg boost the whole rest of the time, usually ends up with some insane amt of dmg amped by the end, kind of a thrilling way to play tbh
Tank Mercy incoming with that tip at the end!🤣 As an OW1 Tank main who now mostly plays support I do that a lot with other heroes like Kiriko, Moira and Ana, use the tank and other teammates as a shield and their health pool as a resource to manage. Very difficult at times to control the shield placement though🤣
I recently found this channel since I started to learn Mercy and I honestly really like the content. Also I love that your voice/pattern of speech isn't Skiesti, I can't watch that channel cause her voice sounds like what I imagine getting stabbed in the ears feel like
I'll be honest, I just don't feel like playing mercy anymore. She's been my main since day one in overwatch 1, so I'm used to adapting to her changes. This time around tho, I'm just not in the right mental state to work around what used to make her fun to me. Thank you for the video tho, I'll keep it in mind in the event I come back to my favorite hero.
Wait. You don't use allies as shields? I do that all the time in the lower ranks. Especially my tanks. I can easily heal them back up and it's not like they were gonna peel for me anyway. Then again, I also use myself to shield my Cassidy and Pharah during ult. Taking that headshot as a body shot goes a long way.
Im a new mercy player on console(unfortunately) and i was wondering when there is only 1 teamate alive and me versus multiple enemy should i just fall back to the rest of my team? And leave them im confused
Best scenario is you escape with your life intact but that is not always possible so if it isn’t possible to disengage and make it back to your team, die as fast as possible. Jumping off the map is preferable since you won’t give ult charge to the enemy team but if you don’t have a ledge then die to the enemy team as fast as possible to avoid staggering. Talking about staggering, when it is just you and another person and you can’t get out of the fight DO NOT HEAL THEM. Healing them will give the enemy team more ult charge than what they would’ve gotten if you didn’t heal them
Using ur teammates body as a shield YES always do that… too many people as soon as they see mercy on enemy side just tunnel vision her and 1v1 while ignoring the enemy she is pocketing… it happens *wayyy* too much.
there is a tip I can give that may or may not help, I played ana more but played mercy on her new hotfix, and it is still possible to get at least close to 2k damage boost, now for the tip; when pocketing a teammate, it's important to have some cover and be aware of flankers, and with ga nerfed, use it as if it was moira's fade a tool to avoid danger , your use of ga will affect your survivability, use it if you're getting flanked, to get high ground, pocket another ally or for cover
2:38 As someone who plays on a controller I felt that
i use a controller and im disabled so just double whammy
It was so funny😭
Legit
U can still do it but it'll have to be very fast
Honestly I played controller until ow went free to play and now I just play on pc bc it’s easier imo, mercy on console feels so bad😂

well it helps that they've changed her like 50 times xD
2:39 I'm a mnk pc player but this still had me on the floor...
I recommend Mercy's Parkour maps to practice GA, they're like a big compilation of all of her tricks and i learned so much with those !
Can you give me some codes for ones you reccomend I'm having trouble learning how to forwards and backwards bunny hop :c

The meat shield tip has me rolling 😂. Never would I have thought that blizzard would make me WANT my allies to get hurt.
Same! Especially since your co-support is likely just gonna top them off anyway. Blizz doesn’t really know what they’re doing with mercy.

I'm personally a fan of the reworked mercy

I still just don't understand why they would nerf her mobility and nudge her towards a more "heal bot" playstyle tbh
I don't think this pushes her to healbot, though, since the critical health healing boost pushes you to take more risks with damage boost. I think it will be a lot more common for lower ranked Mercy mains to blue beam a lot more now.

On god the fact that valk still breaks beam in my 2023
