As a Kiriko main who just clocked like 250 hours, this is how I would like to see the mercy/Kiriko comp. 95% of the time, don't beam your kiriko unless they are critical health and are right next to you or if it's only you and the kiriko are alive which means that both of you are back peddling towards spawn. Like Ana, we use mercy as an Anchor point while keeping the tank up, that's our job. In a Kiriko's mind your ideal position is in the backline because we are going to be in off angles. And we need somewhere to escape. So just focus on pocketing the DPS as long as you can.
My favorite comp is Mercy & Ana, i just feel like they complement each other so well and I really enjoy the game when I can trust my Ana to do the healing. The worst comps for me are Mercy & Zen/Lucio/Brig, it's just such a pain to play, i feel like i'm being forced to healbot so when my other support picks those I just swap to LW, he's more suited for healbotting anyway XD

I love this! I was a full mercy main in Ow1, but switched to Kiriko when ow 2 came out, still run mercy every now and then, and the insight from this expands the experience gained in the situation against different comps, thus making better plays towards synergy from the pairings.
I feel that you should have added a small note about each support as a potential damage boost target and when it is viable to boost them (during ults, using abilities or primary fire).
sometimes i actually like the lucio especially if they are really good because when healing he can heal multiple teammates at once so it gives me some breathing room to damage boost or do whatever i want
another absolute banger of a video :D super helpful, as always. tbh I kinda like running Mercy Lucio when Lucio knows what they're doing. it's hard, and it's never going to be my first choice, but it can work and be really fun. I've learned so much about healing priority and rapidly swapping between targets when everyone needs healing in order to keep the maximum number of people alive. if nothing else, I would definitely encourage people to view it as a learning opportunity because it can be incredibly instructive. it's similar to running Mercy Zen in the sense that the team's healing is "low and slow" and you HAVE to learn how to identify who actually *needs* healing vs who can afford to wait. I think it can also be a really helpful comp for Lucio players because they have to balance healing vs speed boost and identify opportunities when the team NEEDS them to speed boost or split away to get an impactful pick and when they need to play with the team. so it's definitely not ideal, but you can learn a lot from it. I think the most important thing is to not get frustrated with the Lucio for not swapping because your ass ain't swapping either lmao so instead of getting frustrated by someone not doing the exact same thing you're not doing, it's much better to be creative and figure out what YOU can do to make it work. that's also a very helpful skill for overwatch and for life tbh

One vital tip outside of game: take a few minutes to meditate and to clear your mind so you can focus. Damage boost! And one last one is: always be moving. Never stay in one place
nice to see that i do a good job as mercy.. I'm often yelled at or commented on that I don't have enough healing as mercy... even though I give our team a DMG boost... I always have to explain to them that I'm giving a DMG boost because we have a second supporter who can heal well, but they never believe me and then say mercy diff xD so thank u for that video :D
sooo relatable. and sometimes someone steals my mercy just for them to have an 80% yellow beam and steal all my ult charge... my poor Ana barely gets nano.. and when I get mercy they don't think I'm doing a good job by pocketing the DMG.
Kitsune rush does work with damage boost, it is just a little indirect. Because the rate of fire of your boost target is increased, you get more instances of boosted damage, so you will build more ult and secure more elims boosting someone in the rush than boosting them outside it. It is a pretty risky time to go for damage boost, as a lot of players will go aggressive to take advantage of the rush and may take more damage as a result, so it still a decision to make every time, but stacking the rate of fire with the percentage boost can send enemies to spawn quite quickly.
as a zen main i do enjoy mercy as my duo especially when they follow the tips mentioned here! the damage boost on charge volleys always signals to me that they have above average awareness!
Lucio/Mercy is by far one of the most fun backline pairs to run imo, as the lucio otp half of that equation. As long as the team is on the same page it’s literally a “press w to win” comp
i'm so used to moria mercy since it's my duos' main. and it helps that we're always on discord tgt so we know when moria's out of heals and i need to take over but me being more experience ,i'm the one that tends to switch if we need utility

I can do damage boost just fine if my team knows how to play as their hero’s, As mercy you can ping a soul so if Bap also notices the soul you can both help the soul along with D.va as well

Make sure to never take your pistol out. Especially when nothing is going on and you could get some benefit from it, or when you could help finish off an enemy hero easily. Having 0 damage is skill and not a result of total disregard for an aspect of your character’s kit.
my fav support duo has to be mercy/ana and mercy/moira simply because i love damage boost and it gives me more time to put in some dmg boost to my team, 9 times out of 10 if there is an ana/moira on my team and i am mercy we will win simply bc of my dmg boosting and their healing its great!!
15:45 I generally try to avoid hitting empty on Moira, since taps can still trigger heal over time. Which is annoying because the voice line doesn't play, and there's no way to ping it.

(since my friend plays brig and I play mercy) Should I try to be more with the team upfront healing tank or is it ok to hang out in the back and damage boost DPS who are shooting from back here? most of my matches end up with me having quite a bit less damage boost usage than healing because I feel I need to be in the battle healing my tank to keep them alive since Brig can’t heal as much. So I was wondering if there was any advice you could give to me based off this? I don’t know if you’ll see this but I love your videos, thank you for making them!! They’re a huge help❤

it really completely absolutely depends on your DMG teammates. 1750-2000 to a 7k is so nice. but being a little less than that is ok. reaching 1500 and close to that. what's "bad" is 3 digits to 1100 (again super depends on your DMG teammate)
Question. How has Illari's name become Ill-i-ar-i? Everyone seems to be saying it as though there is a second "i" in the middle. Since she is Peruvian, shouldn't the double L be pronounced as "e-yar-eh" not "ill-e-ar-eh?" The way he would pronounce her name is actually more like “eeesh ar ee” however, canonically, it takes on the older mayan pronunciation rather than the modern Spanish one, which is where we arrive at “ee - ar - ee”
yeah blue beaming Zen's are so under valued. I have seen epic Zen players melt tanks on their own with a blue beam. it can be so strong. had a Winston jump on me and Zen a few times and I just instantly start healing the Zen as he charges up and switch to blue as he nukes the Winston back to spawn. he did it to him like 4 times before the Winston switched to Hog. lol
I believe they stream occasionally (search for niandra on twitch!), and they have made a bunch of videos in the past where they do commentary over their gameplay and talk about their mistakes. I don't know how many are from overwatch 2, but the overwatch 1 ones are still fun and interesting to watch.

yes, you can damage boost all parts of illari's ult. with Moira, you increase the damage done by her suck. you increase the damage done by her ult but you don't increase the healing. with the orb, I BELIEVE you increase the tick rate and the damage but I've heard people say you don't increase the damage, too, so I'm not sure about that.
@@duongnguyen-s1i I am not sure! it seems that with overwatch 2 heroes, you need to keep damage boosting the entire ability/ult (for example, if you boost sojourn's disruptor shot, you don't hear the ticks if you heal or do something else) so my guess is that it's the same with Illari, that you need to hold damage boost, but I'm not 100% sure about it

People dog on lucio & mercy but honestly its a fun comp if the rest of the team doesnt immediately tilt. My husband & I used to play it a lot & he would pretty much just hang w/the tank & id take care of the dps & help w/the tank if need be. Even can send him to take care of that pesky dps thats on high ground that no one else on our team even notices lol (literally sicced him onto a solider who was just perma high ground, it won us the game).
I’m that ana who need support’s baby sit😅 my consistent heal currently relying on stable hero and no dive on me. So I’d definitely agree with it’d be easier to heal tank than ones like genji. It’s so amazing when other support do look out for me we both basically immortal
Thanks for this excellent video including the new supports; I was really wondering how well Mercy paired with them. I'm surprised that Mercy/Zen appears more viable than Mercy/Lucio; I remember being told it was an absolutely terrible comp back in OW1. That said, Mercy being able to quickly peel is perfect to help Zen survive getting dived.
Mercy Zen has always been strong. I think there was definitely a period when people viewed Lucio and Zen as just bad in general, though, at least there was around the time I started playing. but once people began to realize that you don't need a lot of healing if you just kill all the enemies really quickly, Mercy Zen and then Zen Brig became more popular lol
As for the question my favorite paring is very much a low elo quick play thing because in ranked it would be troll af but pocketing my duo who is a phenomenal brig and just running at the enemy team by forcing brawl. The brig becomes unkillable and the rest of the team do as well by extension because of inspire XD

i do play a lot of lucio and one of my best friends plays a lot of mercy, and i dont know why so many people do struggle with it i am sacrificing a lot of speedboost time myself, but it takes a load off of mercy if she doesnt need to pay attention to the DPS in regards of healing at all, i can still help out healing the tank with amp and can give the mercy a lot of time to escape with a well timed sound barrier against aimbotting soldiers or nanoblades for example
Pls don’t make vids like this because one tricking mercy is a terrible idea. It’s good to know how to play her but you shouldn’t play her every game. Only if you have hitscan dps pharah/echo. She should never be played with lucio or zen.

i think mercy brig is underrated mainly bc brig can output a surprising amount of healing, but ofc it definitely relies on your dps/tank comp

@@duongnguyen-s1i I am not sure! it seems that with overwatch 2 heroes, you need to keep damage boosting the entire ability/ult (for example, if you boost sojourn's disruptor shot, you don't hear the ticks if you heal or do something else) so my guess is that it's the same with Illari, that you need to hold damage boost, but I'm not 100% sure about it
@@sethescopelov the ov2 change :D not really.i wish when u daam boost before it starts then all of it is boosted but if ur too late then u have to boost the whole thing so a combination of both so it rewards for boosting before but still allow mercy to get value even though late reaction time
@@duongnguyen-s1i I really like that idea! its clever :) I don't understand why there's a difference between how damage boost works for ow1 heroes vs ow2, and I am hopeful that it will be fixed someday soon so it's consistent. whether you have to boost right when the ability starts/lands or whether you can boost at any point during the ability. I just don't want to have to remember 😂
no hate but Illari isnt pronouned "Ill-e-are-ee" but rather "Ill-are-ee" or the spanish correct pronunciation "ee-are-ee" (double ll in spanish is silent!).
8:48 it hurts me that you didn't try to stay on the kiriko's ult after you rez, the cooldown reduction time can save up to 10 secs to your next rez

People dog on lucio & mercy but honestly its a fun comp if the rest of the team doesnt immediately tilt. My husband & I used to play it a lot & he would pretty much just hang w/the tank & id take care of the dps & help w/the tank if need be. Even can send him to take care of that pesky dps thats on high ground that no one else on our team even notices lol (literally sicced him onto a solider who was just perma high ground, it won us the game).
Mercy is no skill, just hold 1 button

I’m that ana who need support’s baby sit😅 my consistent heal currently relying on stable hero and no dive on me. So I’d definitely agree with it’d be easier to heal tank than ones like genji. It’s so amazing when other support do look out for me we both basically immortal

I'm surprised that Mercy/Zen appears more viable than Mercy/Lucio; I remember being told it was an absolutely terrible comp back in OW1. That said, Mercy being able to quickly peel is perfect to help Zen survive getting dived.
mercy zen used to be really popular during a ball/sig comp before people were like discovering the wonders of the brig/zen pairing
Mercy Zen has always been strong. I think there was definitely a period when people viewed Lucio and Zen as just bad in general, though, at least there was around the time I started playing. but once people began to realize that you don't need a lot of healing if you just kill all the enemies really quickly, Mercy Zen and then Zen Brig became more popular lol
As for the question my favorite paring is very much a low elo quick play thing because in ranked it would be troll af but pocketing my duo who is a phenomenal brig and just running at the enemy team by forcing brawl. The brig becomes unkillable and the rest of the team do as well by extension because of inspire XD
I need to play with woman so she can train me 😹im gold 1 and I litterally play like how she says “alot of players get stuck and play like this: j hovering” so im learning to use my boost ability to position and not positioning as much
i do play a lot of lucio and one of my best friends plays a lot of mercy, and i dont know why so many people do struggle with it
i am sacrificing a lot of speedboost time myself, but it takes a load off of mercy if she doesnt need to pay attention to the DPS in regards of healing at all, i can still help out healing the tank with amp and can give the mercy a lot of time to escape with a well timed sound barrier against aimbotting soldiers or nanoblades for example
just gonna pop in and say mercy lucio may be atrocious but i duod with my lucio otp friend and we got him to gm with that pairing XD
Pls don’t make vids like this because one tricking mercy is a terrible idea. It’s good to know how to play her but you shouldn’t play her every game. Only if you have hitscan dps pharah/echo. She should never be played with lucio or zen.
Plat and under will think that this means mercy is playable alongside other supports like zen or lucio.
