the way I'm looking at synthesizers is more like sonic amplitude generators. the barebone electric modulators of air vibrations/compressions unrestricted to physical dynamics, timbral qualities, and/or resonance chambers.
giving rise to the synthetic quality of the sound, as opposed to the natural one.
