Tiny win: I was shopping at Target after Christmas and saw wrapping paper at 50% off that had cats on it. I really wanted it, but I quite literally have 10 unopened rolls at home. I walked away! 🎉
It's the last day of my no buy 2024 & I saved $6700 🎉 I'm on a fixed low income so very proud of myself. My tip is every day write in a physical book what u spent money on & do a summary monthly. U will definitely see patterns! Going again in 2025 ❤
I love this right here!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS! You did your BIG one here! Your advice is chefs kiss!!! And it works. Thank you for sharing your testimony
This is where I fell off the band wagon! I am working on a low buy year for 2025 and I am just working on making tracking purchases my January goal to help ease in 😂
Make yourself so busy finding new ways to make money that you’re too busy to spend money. That’s what I’ve been doing and I got a second job within a week. My motto for 2025 is “the year of me.” I already have so many clothes, makeup items, etc. we are so used to having everything we don’t realize how lucky we really are. Selling everything I haven’t worn or holding onto for no reason. Savings challenges are also amazing, they really shift your focus and give you a new goal.
I love this.. we have so much stuff that it almost seems like a sin. We have a million clothes and will feel we have nothing to wear. It’s crazy how much we own or keep. It’s great to sell what you haven’t worn in a year at least unless it’s season clothes wear you have to wait to wear them for the appropriate weather ❤
@ very true. I want to try out the capsule wardrobe this year because i feel half the battle with getting dressed is matching outfits. Also this summer i wore one dress all the time because it was perfect for me and my body. I think i can safely make it through each season with 5-7 outfits especially if they are classic. Don’t want to plug certain retailers esp fast fashion but Zara and hm make some really unique pieces that can carry over for years if you take care of them. I’ve also had a Uniqlo shirt for almost 10 years!!!
I did a low buy year this year (but didn’t carry it all the way through the year 😂) and learned tracking daily is the most important part! I can plan all I want but not tracking meant I was not being accountable!
Thank you for your great video. I plan to do a low buy year, with a NO buy January. I bought a planner for tracking how I am going. I sat down today and wrote out my WHY, and my rules for January. I plan to begin each month by reflecting on where I am in my journey, and what I am allowed to spend money on that month. (I do have some home improvement things and garden projects I plan to tackle this year, but I plan to keep a tight lid on things.) It’s all the eating out and little stuff that seems to add up to way more than I expect that I really need to focus on. I AM READY!
I desperately need a no spend January to right size my budget, lol. The reality of how much I spent on stationery and planner supplies was off the charts. It was a huge eye opener. FOMO is real and I am a stationary and planner supply addict. 🤪
I totally understand! It is really tough...But outta sight outta mind. I feel this way about perfume however I have learned how to discipline myself and I start a wish list so when I get a gift card or I am out of the No Spend I can purchase...But trust me...it is HARD!!!!!!
I want to pay my new vehicle off sooner rather than later. My 17 year old car finally gave out, parts were getting really hard to source. I’m going hard! Even built a formula in excel to calculate payoff with extra money thrown at it 💪🏾 Great video!
NICE!!! I love this! I was the same way when I had to purchase my new car...I had to get that thing paid off QUICK and I did...This is an amazing goal!
this might help, when you pay your car off continue to save the payment in an hysa. when your car give out, you will have the money to pay for it in cash. repeat the process.
Hahahaha; you had me smiling because of the items in the line before you get to the cashier. My daughter calls it, every time we enter it, "oh, the aisle of temptation". Hahahaha. Ya' know, her saying that helps me to not spend. I guess truth told, helps resist. Hmmm.
Great video 😊 Sometimes around the time pay day about to happen all sudden I want to spend money on unnecessary items 🤦🏾♀️ to avoid that, I’ll transfer the money over to savings. That method does help a lot
I appreciate the support & tips on your channel. I've been motivated to save (fell off the fast food wagon this past weekend, but ready meals getting done in morning). I'm opening a special savings for my no spends of 2025.
I've been more on a low buy since mid November but now I'm on a full no buy year and I am watching every single no buy video I can find. Makes me feel less alone and much more motivated ❤
I'm trying this with you... And let me tell you it's very hard because I want to go to the dollar store and go buy food... But once I'm in the store I get more
Hey! Your tips are amazing! Thank you!!!!! I really like the point of your making them rich! I am down for the no spend challenge! 😊 Happy New Year!! 🎉
I tried a no spend last year which quickly went south. I changed to a low buy which again I failed BUT…..I did refrain from some purchases, I learned about my spending habits and I became a lot more mindful about what I purchase. So I feel like progress was still made. I want to try again. Thanks for the tips. I love the idea of putting the money I would spend in savings instead. That will be very eye opening!!
I love this. I need to delete my shopping apps. How do you stop scrolling and adding stuff to your cart? The stuff I add is stuff I really don't need but want.
It can be difficult however, one things that helps me is to unfollow, unsubscribe, from alllll retailers... Also the ones that I love. I also consume A LOT of content that encourages me to stay on track...
Ill be participating! I been saving for my girls birthday in January (turning 9 and 1 three days apart lol) and already booked everything and saved spending money. Im ready!
Thank you bestie I needed this ❤ When it's a new year it's always very stressful for me so all I want to do is shopping but with your help I will try and do better this time for real 😊 Hugs 🫂
Im SO glad I stumbled on to Budget Treasures & this community! Im 100% green and Starting my budgeting journey, for the 1st time ever, at midnight. Also hopping into a no spend. One thing though that I feel I need to do. I have no idea how long things last & how much I spend a month on different things. So I have a new pack of T.P., coffee, dog food & doggie snacks, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. Im going to open each one tomorrow (January 1st) and see how long each one lasts. Then I can actually see how much / month I need to budget for those household & doggie items. What are your thoughts? Its crazy the mindless spending we do once we start to "pay attention". And yes, the fur children will be counting their crap too! Thank goodness they are small. (4 lbs & 6 lbs).. My new budget book is set up & Im ready to go. Thank you all for being a virtual support for each other. I think Im now addicted to saving & budgeting & have been staring at my budget book for 3 weeks now! Still need to figure out how much $ to alot for food, household, etc but Ill figure it out... Bless all Y'all & Budget Treasures!
exited to do this... even though i just bought something... but it was dog food... that's a need. ;-) watch me go ham at the grocery store because i'm not buying elsewhere.
Happy holidays. This is my second year doing buy Nothing January, I start strong and overspend later in the year. Any advice there would really help. One thing that helped me last year was having a project to keep myself away from the phone. I'm trying to avoid doom scrolling as much as shopping. I'm working on a quilt, and a wedding gift for friends that just announced their engagement.
It would be a win for me to add money into savings each month, instead of pulling money out to cover unnecessary spending. If I was really smart I would shut down my Amazon account!
Okay. Thats it. Shut it down! 🥳☺️ I said it in my video. Is it more important to you to make Amazon rich or Save money for YOURSELF and make you rich(er)
Impulse buying = present bias! It's the tendency of people to discount their future preferences in favor of immediate gratification. I teach this term to my psychology students. I'm guilty of this too 🤣🤣.
Hello Hope all is well. 1st HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all.... and a Good New Year. I have every intentions off low buy this 2025, and will use this kind off vídeos as a help... I've been doing drive up orders or delivery orders to avoid buying unnecessary stuff in the store (it's Target for me too lol)
