      Burn in is real but is over rated as someone who's gamed on a oled since 2016 with over 3000 hours in destiny 2 and still no issues it's really not a big deal.
      Plus they've gotten even better on newer ones on preventing it.
      This BFGD is a waste of money when you can get every one of their features for a whole heck of a lot less.
      I paid $1899 for mine and it looks just as good if not better than this thing (FALD lcd doesn't hold a candle to oled when it comes to blacks nor color "pop")

      @@thewizardoftech5075 For gaming and media consumption, OLED is fine. You won't get burn in unless you play the same exact game all the time with no diversification, and even if you do, RTings OLED burn in test playing CoD for 20 hours a day for the last 2 years or so has minimal burn in...and thats a last gen 2017 panel that's MORE prone to it than the 8th and 9th gens, and the same game 20 hours a day. Just a little variation in games or media and they'd be having no burn in instead of just a bit. You wouldn't want to use one much in a windows work environment though. Tons of constantly static and stationary bright stuff in there. But for large gaming display? There really isn't anything better. Nothing comes close to the contrast, HDR performance and insanely low response times OLED can do...nothing commercially available atm at least.
      1080p and 1440p on my OLED look quite nice from normal viewing distances, but again, they will support 4K 120 just as soon as a consumer GPU supports HDMI 2.1. Not like most people have the power atm to drive most games at more than 1440p 120 fps anyway though. So running 1080/1440p at 120hz or 4K 60hz with proper HDR isn't the end of the world until faster better equipped GPU's come out anyway. Plus these 9th gen sets are getting Gsync compatibility. They're the full package, and I'd take one over this giant monitor any day of the week.
      Then again I'd rather keep my last gen E8 OLED vs use this thing.

    Missed the mark a few times on OLEDs, at least in regards to the 2018 LG model that I bought a few months ago on clearance. A.) it isn't very heavy, B.) there is no power brick, just a power cord and C.) there was removable protection on the entire screen, plus it was inside of a TV cover--basically a thin styrofoam "bag."

    • @Globespy
      @Globespy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Indeed. Very strange why Jay wouldn't know that? I initially expected him to say 'image retention' as he mentioned OLED, but then he says response time and confused the crap out of me.
      I think these monitors are dead in the water as we see new flat panel OLED TVs with HDMI 2.1 and FreeSync rolling out next year.
      I like display port, but HDMI 2.1 is going to directly compete in the 'big gaming display' space, and the price will reduce MUCH faster as it always does in the consumer flat screen TV market.
      Just a hunch.
      Besides, I have no desire to play first person shooters on a display this large other than for the novelty.
