@@HeadstrongTrainingSystems I just started lowbar two months ago and this vid helped a lot with the bar placement on my back, I just recently hit a 180kg x2 ATPR last week!

Wow perfect timing for me since I just switched over to low bar squat and had issues balancing the bar on my back and it felt overall uncomfortable. Tried it today after watching this videos and used the queues and it felt much more stable, thanks!

That sliding under the bar to feel the shelf was extremely useful. I always had trouble determining where exactly is the 'spine of scapula'. Starting Strength keeps saying that's where the bar should rest, but it's a useless clue, if you're lifting by yourself. I just tried your method today, and it was exactly what I needed to find the proper location.

Great video, I have not seen the shelf explained this way before. Unfortunately I have trouble low bar squatting because of internal impingement in my left shoulder (pain on the back of the shoulder, think my infraspinatus tendon is being mashed between humerus and glenoid/labrum). High bar seems to be a lot more forgiving. Annoying though because low bar always felt better on my knees.

Thanks for your comment and that lines up perfectly. A limitation in internal rotation will prevent us from setting your low bar shelf (which is more demanding on the shoulder IR). However I have found that setting more of a mid bar position and playing around with grip width may help with your shoulder limitation.
