It basically comes down to how you score rounds 4 5 and 7. It was clearly 67-64 in favor of Provodnikov in the other 7 rounds.

Round 1-3 were easy to score. Round 4-5 were a toss up. 6 Alvarado dominated. 7 was another tough to score. 8-10 were obviously the Russians and why he won the fight on my scorecard. Good fight.
Ruslan Provodnikov is a good offensive fighter who can throw good, strong combination punches. But he does get hit a lot sometimes. In his fight against Timothy Bradley, he was robbed.

Fighters like Alvarado are one of the greatest things about boxing, the guys who rise up out of cities not known for boxing or cities who haven't had a guy to get behind in decades. I love when a guy has a sort of cult following that transcends his talent, it seems to make the Fighter into something greater. Mickey Ward in Lowell, Kelly Pavlik in Youngstown... Alvarado and denver reminded me of that.

Poor Bradley had brain damage after doing that. And when he did it vs Rios in the 1st fight he lost!
