Hi, the forks are back on the bike some years :-) But there was really no obstacle with the assembly. You just do it all in reverse order. Just loosen all the braces, push the legs back, tighten properly and give it a ride :-) Make sure you have the brass bushings in the fork eplaced, for if they're worn, the bike rides like a frightened horse :-)
@@vaclavcervinka5764 the problem is the tube does not stay up on its own because of the external spring. And because of the headlight brackets how do you keep the tube extended or how do you compress the springs to get it pushed all the way back in?
@@bigkraus1 Honestly i don't remember :D It's been a long time :-) But i don't think there was any extra force needed to compress it for the assembly. Maybe if the springs are somehow preloaded, you could do it by dropping the bike down on a center stand and using the weight of the bike? :-) Would have to be done carefully and with an assistant of course :-)
@@vaclavcervinka5764 the one time I tried it I used ratchet straps to compress the forks into the springs, and then very carefully got the caps caught on the threads which took care of it However, there is a specialty tool which is a plug that screws into the top of the fork and essentially there’s a piece of all rod with a tea handle where you just slide it up into the triple tree and then just pull the fork up which is a lot safer and there’s no risk of damaging forks

Or you can just back the nut out a bit then hit the top with a soft hammer through a cloth, easier to knock it out that way.
