Guyana's well armed neighbour, Venezuela is threatening to seize Guyana's territory and it is hoped that India would pledge its support
to defend Guyana. Like Mauritius, Guyana values its Indian roots and would always be a close brother to India. If India makes a statement, it will deter the greedy, lawless element in Venezuela from their colonialist designs on Guyana.

You live in a world of fantasy. When Indians were being burnt out of their homes did India help? No. In fact Nehru said Guyanese Indians should learn to be loyal citizens. Do you know who helped? It was Venezuela who absorbed a stream of Indian refugees, among them was my cousin who became a Venezuelan citizen.

I am Indo Guyanese and I embrace my Blessings of Guyana, my grandparents that I remember fondly were visionary beautiful souls, who worked very hard for any success they had and for their future generations. I am proud of who I am today, thanks to the mindset of my family as loyalty to Guyana and their Guyanese heritage and unique culture. We are all aware of our Indian ancestry, but our stance is for Guyana and very proud people in our own right, and enriched as either Hindus or Christians, or other Faiths. Including the non believers. I live in the present, thankful of being Guyanese, a beautiful enriched land with many wonders and our mixed ethnic background forming our Guyanese Nation.. We all need to stand equally as a nation. I am strong in my Christian Faith, with love and respect for Hinduism and those who follow different paths. But that's my family upbringing....moving forward, never looking back beyond Guyana. And very proud of who we are and not ignorant to our ancestry. But we move forward for the love of our beautiful country deep respect of our indigenous native Amerindians our one Guyanese nation of different ethnicities. 🙏✝️...🇬🇾💜

    • @kittyread1605
      @kittyread1605 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@dy6682 very true.. our Earth looks very beautiful and also it's fragility in our vast universe. But since time began with our existence, humans and animals. There have always been territories and migration from thousands of years ago, settling into our land and provision of food, water and shelter and for our animals too. Borders are marking the land and waters of our countries. These borders form our many nations and many cultures and Faiths. We see the evil of invasion without borders, and the suffering and threats of war and invasion even with our borders. These are complex humanitarian issues of war and suffering to obtain land, richness and overpowering nations. So without borders...even worse. Bit like leaving the door of your home open and vulnerable to anyone allowing themselves. And we wouldn't do that!! But there is always a risk even with a closed door and security measures in place.

Suriname also has a border dispute with Suriname.
If the Venezuelan government of Nicolás Maduro decides tomorrow to annex the Essequibo area following a military action following a referendum, the Guyanese will be faced with a taste of their own medicine. The Venezuelans have been claiming the Essequibo area for decades, because they assume that during the colonial administration of the British - in what is now called Guyana - the aforementioned area was confiscated by the German Robert Hermann Schomburgk by drawing up false maps. . Venezuela was certainly no match for the British militarily at that period, so the area was added to Guyana. It must be clear that the British also wanted a so-called foothold on the mainland of South America. On our side too, the British have done everything they can to steal territory from the other colonizers in the North Sea. The fact that part of present-day Guyana also belonged to the colony of Suriname can still be deduced from the Dutch names in certain places. But it was the same Robert Hermann Schomburgk who ascended the Corentijn and also after this journey drew up a false map for the British, in which he indicated that the Coeroeni Cutari was the upper course of the Corantijn River. He had not seen the truly much larger stream of water that we call the Upper Corantijn. Later, upon further investigation by the British Barrington Brown, the Upper Corantijn - which he called the New River - turned out to be the real upper course, creating the so-called Tigri Delta, located between Coeroeni, Cutari, Upper Corantijn and the Acarai Mountains, without there was no doubt that it should be regarded as Surinamese territory. However, the British wanted nothing to do with Barrington Brown's findings. In 1969, before our political independence, President Forbes Burnham of Guyana, which became independent in 1966, decided to occupy the Tigri Delta by means of military force. As is known, the Netherlands, which still had to defend Suriname as a part of the empire, did not intervene. Due to this annexation and the violent actions of Guyana, Suriname still has a border dispute with that country, just like Venezuela has with the Guyanese over the Essequibo area. The Guyanese government is now screaming bloody murder and is seeking support all over the world against a possible Venezuelan attack to take over the area militarily, but Suriname should absolutely not side with Guyana when it comes to the Essequibo issue. Guyana has occupied part of our territory since 1969, and does everything if the area belongs to it. We may be part of the English-speaking club CARICOM, which immediately supported Guyana, but we have been robbed by the Guyanese for more than 54 years. They have taken our territory hostage with military force and we should not accept that for a moment and certainly should not side with them when it concerns the Essequibo issue between Venezuela and the Guyanese. The fact that the Venezuelans now want to take back the area, if necessary with the use of the much stronger Venezuelan army, of course has everything to do with the large oil and natural gas reserves that have been discovered off the coast of the aforementioned area. This border dispute could have enormous consequences for security in our area, which can be described as the Guyanas. An area that runs from the Orinoco to the Oyapock. It is understandable that Venezuela may wish to use military resources. Isn't that what the Guyanese did to us in 1969, when The Hague did everything it could to get the police unit out of the Tigri area and was under former officer Lapre. The Netherlands did not want to have trouble with NATO partner Great Britain, that was clear at the time. But we now live in the 21st century and must not forget that we have a Ukraine and a Gaza, where major powers commit actions that can cause changes within geopolitics, including on our continent, when business and major financial interests come into play. This is about oil, that's what it was about in Iraq too. We can always talk about green energy and electric cars, but oil is still of great and survival importance for most economies and that is why the Venezuelan-Guyanese border conflict can still cause a lot of trouble for all of us. And especially if world powers get involved. Is oil a blessing or a curse? Unfortunately, this will also be expressed or expressed in this region.

India can help people of Indian Origin by sending Hindi Teachers to Guyana to help Hindus reclaim their Indian Heritage in terms of Hindi language, classes on Sanskrit and Studies of the Bhagwat Gita, Ramayan, Vedanta etc. I am so sad that the People of Indian Origin in Guyana are unable to write or speak Hindi. Sanskrit and Hindi should be taught in the Elementary and High Schools by Teachers from India. Surinamese, Mauritian, Fijians and not forgetting some Trinidadian’s of Indian Origin are well versed in Bhojpuri, Hindi and other Indian ethnic languages . Descendants of Indian indentured laborers brought to the Arawak land which was colonized by the British are now looking to defend colonial territory.
It's an interesting one. Everything West of the essequibo river is Amerindian, and some Blacks.
When Guyana gained independence in 1966. Did it really gain independence, or did it just enter neo-colonialism. Did the independence properly recognize the indigenous population, or were they effectively kept out and put on the reservation that is essequibo?
Very tricky. Had Guyana made major developments in essequibo with all ethnic groups present, and had Guyana promoted Amerindians to a respectable position of economic & political power, then Guyana would've been in a more secure position.
As such. Guyana appears as something between a Western colony and an Indian colony.
So yes, another Win for India. Thanks to the West, again. (Although Indians will keep believing it was entirely due to their merit that they were not enslaved, and instead placed as the higher caste in Guyana, as they were in many British colonies).
The question is, what happens when the West cannot give India any more gifts. What happens when India no longer receives so much special treatment from the West.

I am NOT superior to anyone by being proud of who I am, my family and upbringing, my Faith and my life's journey. BUT neither am I inferior, ashamed and be made a mockery of. AND to those choosing to be more just Indians in Guyana, tracing their roots, if that's their passion and how they identify and understand themselves better, and valued. with distancing from the typical GUYANESE culture but more Indian please do so... I do get accused of all sorts sometimes Guyanese Amazon Warrior. Hope all is well with you 🙏✝️🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾💟

@@kittyread1605 hi my lovely Guyanese sister, I totally agree with you and your comment, yes a lot of foreigners hate Guyana because of the progress it has made, especally the venezuliana, and its not oil they want as they have more than enought, but they are jelicious of the progress we have made , as for the Indian nationals they dont really understand Guyana, as they think we are overseas indians like the ones in Africa, and they think we are uneducated when we Guyanese are the most educated in south america , last of all it makes me laugh to think we Guyanese Indian are lost with out India, its pure stupidness.
some people blame the british for bringing indian labourers to Guyana, but if they dident Guyana would not be the nice place it is today,

Discovering oil in foreign land is not a big deal but to savely secure the supplies to india is very important.
Some years ago the indians discovered oil in mynmar water but there after the indians were dragging their feet over the pricing and other minor issues.
Finally the chinese grab the oil from mynmar which was discoverd by indians😂

Oil is ok but bio fuel is better, getting us farmers produce, converting it to ethanol and mixing it with guyanese /us oil that is refined in our refineries, serves the farmers of usa and our ethanol ecosystem.Which actually should be our goal.ethanol 85 pc.For all gasoline export.Which will give us money to buy arms and expensive technology and machinery from not just usa but also from other global bio fuel alliance countries.
Russia can be given a stake in this ethanol plant expansion, they can hold 25 pc stake in all of the ethanol plants that india builds for export. Thus they can continue to have the money minus the oil. They too shall be paid in the currencies of the trading partners and then russia can buy goods from them using that currency.
It doesn't have to be a zero sum game.
All that is needed is a grand vision so that farmers income grows and oil that doesnt benefit with job creation is replaced by bio fuels.
Russia too can send their produce for ethanol production to india. They just need to be a partner not a disrupter in world growth and prosperity.

Since Guyana got gets independence in 1966, India opened a permanent Indian embassy in Guyana. Indira Gandhi even visited in the 60s.
