You should look into resining your pieces for two reasons. 1. I think resin takes paintings to a whole other level, but 2. You’re very good at explaining things and I think a lot of people would be able to get a lot of value out of it since there aren’t many good videos online that have your style of cinematography as well.
this may be my new favorite channel I can't believe you haven't blown up. Keep doing good bro, I'm sure you will go somewhere. You deserve way more than 15k.
I am a full time artist, I’m self taught , no college so no idea how I paint or what it means. And so absolutely love the way you explained colour. It’s actually the first time I have heard what values and chroma are and actually understand them! Thankyou! I have never tried spray paints and stencils, more of a portrait artist so I am finding your videos incredibly educational. Thanks mate!
I fell asleep watching your videos last night and I've finished work today and straight back on your channel dude. I've been going through alot of shit lately with mental health and stress.. The only thing I have a skill in is art. You've really really brought my imagination back. Your a real good lad. Take it easy slewy many many Thanks
Never really got into stencils let alone multilayered ones. But this really makes me wanna learn. First time on the channel, love the yellow cyclops. Definitely subbed
wow dude, you have a new subscriber, and a new fan. your work is amazing and your color choice is so thought out and makes everything so visually satisfying. loving it!
I don't know how I got here but I'm absolutely obsessed. I've always wanted to try working with spray paints I love the flatness of color you get with them, I'd love to step away from my very obvious brush stroke style.
Stumbled upon your page and wow i’m so impressed by your work, and your video skills aswel. The colour in all 4 of those are mind blowing and also when you were talking I couldn’t help but just look all around your studio and look at all your work. Just amazing stuff !
I finally found a TH-camr that I’ll actually grow by watching! Your videos are great man! You should do a get to know me video about where you’re from!
I'm not an artistic person myself, however watching this really inspired me to try and picking up a form of art as a new hobby. Keep doing what you're doing and don't stop the grind! Loving all your work so far!
Hey Slew new to your channel - very first video and I like your work alot. Very interested in seeing a Skeleton Cyclops! ooooooh What would that look like. I don't think I ever seen one.
Saw the video of you and Ten Hundred doing the portraits - that led me here (btw you both did winning pieces, how can anyone pick one over the other?). Your work is impressive. These stencils take me back to silkscreening - the layers, the clean lines and the magic! Andy Warhol would have appreciated your style, your art. Thanks for the detailed explanation; the how to and what you're thinking. You've got a new fan here!
your lifestyle is goals. i thank the gods of youtube suggestions for making me discover you! subscribed big time man, hope to see more content from you!!
Slew....pieces are super tight and super clean man....Awesome....Looking forward to next stencil project. BTW the first 25 secs or so....I was LMAO....killer intro homie. You make very entertaining videos man, keep it up!
I like the purity of all the colors you chose.. I learn something from every video of yours I watch.. and the sound tracks do you listen to that music while painting?
A laser cutter on a fast setting would save you hours cutting out your stencils. If there's not a maker space in your town I would save up for one, they have cheap ones you can put together yourself.
Great work! Another question about masking the face masking . I find it difficult to pull the tape up without pulling up ink or paper, could you do a short explanation vid of that process of cutting the tape to fit the subject . More content than what you gave from 9:30-9:35. Thnx ! Also have you tried Indian spiced yellow ? It’s dope !
You prolly aren’t into doing landscapes. But sense you like bringing the sunset up. Would you possibly teach us how to use the rules of light and the use of values in a sunset oil painting? Maybe even a skyline painting. Much love you do great work
Hey man! First off love your work and the quality you put into both your art and videos ! Second i would really suggest you checking out screen printing ! it’s super similar idea of multi printing with multiple values and such but with a different way of doing it !
Really clean work man, i love it! btw you should do timelapse of the suset in that window and add to the video, the whole train station it a cool looking place.
How do you get these outlines so clean? I'm so intrigued by your talent and flow! So happy to have found your channel. Have a good one and bless you. You are an artist!
I seriously think that you need more viewers and subscribers.. I'm a belgium guys so I can't speack really well english but I hope that you coud understand me ;) I hope you the best man!
Awesome work. Two questions though: What paper are you using for the stencils? I tried paper before, but it didn't last one artwork, let alone 4! I now use thick transparent plastic. Great for stencils, but quite hard to cut! 2nd question: why don't you do background first and spray the stencils on top of that? It's less work, and especially when doing outlines I suppose it won't be any less clean? Or am I missing something?
great questions. The paper I use is like poster board. Thick enough to last but not too thick to were I can't cut it with an xacto. I've used the plastic transparent before and that works great as well.. As for the background. its a great question. I do it last just for opportunities sake. Just in case I want a different background or something. But also laying in that first stencil which is just the silhouette helps me line up the others on top. So it does have its slight purpose! thanks for the comment
@@slewp Thanks for the answers! However... Poster board? Any more detail on that? I've tries different types of paper and they all failed... If I go for paper I now use ordinary office paper with stickyback tape on top of it. It's very labour intensive and still very fragile.... (nb. I live in Europe, 'Poster Board' is a term the local art supply store doesn't know....)
What material do you make your stencils out of? Also, LOVE your work. So great! I seriously want that huge overlapping head piece in my house. I am really excited to have stumbled upon your work!
I'm assuming you have a printer that allows you to print larger stencils? I have been doing this style for a while now and want to do larger pieces but don't know how without taping a bunch of pieces of paper together.
I just found your channel and love your work!! When you cut the stencil for each value, so you include the outline in each? I know you do that by hand, but can’t tell if you leave it in each stencil or cut around it.
Hey slew cool video as always, But i got a question do you see your square of bomb at 5:30 if you take bomb to make a X like take a color by value its can be intresting (sorry for my english not really good heh). Don't stop your cool project !
ON TO THE NEXT ONE. which color way is your favorite ?
I couldn't possibly choose, but if I did I think it would be blue power
Definitely thought it was pink at first, but when you started peeling back the tape of the blue...I immediately loved it!!
Gotta be the green for me. Would love to have it in my room.
If I had to choose...Green...my fav color...
Pink is hitting my face with some love. I’d love to see an orange color way.

The yellow one in particular looks like a silicone cast .. as if someone’s pressed their face in & left an impression. Very jealous of the studio too.
