    Thank you for showing the small cover that has to come off of the main valve cover. That wasn't done in several other videos and I would be pissed to have learned that after the fact!

    I just want to add a note for your description. If you would like to add the parts numbers and links to purchase parts would help also.
    Thanks for the video

    Comment - I would not use a pry bar in the magnesium valve covers. If they are stuck use a rubber mallet and maybe a block of wood to tap them free.

    Do you have to reseal the top section if there is no visible leak or separation? Could you just replace the gasket?

      I believe you don't have to break the breather cover seal to do the valve cover gasket, but that small space can get packed full of sludge. If when you lift the valve cover out, there's sludge build up around the valve train, you're going to want to have a look inside the breather cover.

      @@guganotubo hopefully not I don't want to mess with the breather cover since it seems hard to find the right gasket maker, think I will just replace the preformed gasket 🤷

    What type of silicone did you use for the ccv cover? is it ok to use RTV red? or black for that matter?

    Can you please tell me what do you torque the bolts to? Thanks

    • @ron8566
      @ron8566 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The main bolts are 10NM and the small aluminum bolts are 4NM. ALERT - always replace the aluminum bolts in the PVC covers since they are ONE TIME USE ONLY.

    It's the same with 2005 E320 4matic?

    What is the engine code? Size? What other models share the engine?

    • @ron8566
      @ron8566 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The engine size does not matter. The V8 and V6 both use the magnesium valve covers and they look nearly identical, so the process is entirely the same.

    • @ron8566
      @ron8566 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I note that it does not matter since all of the old V8 and V6 engines use the magnesium valve covers and the process to repair is identical.

    Did you just let a fuel drain in the head of the engine at 5:15 ?

      Never will be enough to cause any damage.

      It is about a half a cup of gas. I cut a water bottle in half, and used it to capture the gas rather than letting it leak all over everything.

      It's 8 Nm or 71 inch/pounds

    • @ron8566
      @ron8566 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      8 NM for the valve cover bolts and only 4NM for the aluminum PVC bolts. Never reuse the aluminum bolts. They are one time use only.
