    When testing at the venue, I highly suggest notifying the local Fire Department prior to the test. If the test does trigger the alarm, they are aware that the testing is taking place. For one of my tests, they actually sent a crew to stand by during the testing, which prevented an 'emergency' response.

    I'm in the process of setting up a basic production rig for a local sports team. We have a smoke machine that's used for player entry at a specific place, but it only really serves that purpose well. This is a small hockey rink with 1000 capacity. I'm thinking that using haze to build up some mist might work better for the beams and moving lights?
    A factor to consider is of course that on-ice vision cannot be impaired.

Okay for water based fluid is usually glycols, glycerols mixed with distilled water, but what oil they use? Of course I am asking this because of the chemistry side.

    What cheap machine would be best if you needed to cover and hide your front door and lock? Inside an apartment building.
    I'm not sure I will get to fix this as they are soon coming, but at least some knowledge on it for others to easily defend them self without hurting others with covering there door? Do we have a cheap solution with smoke stay long and hard to see through?
    The fire training smoke with the oil based thing, sounded like it would be in the right direction.

    Oil hazers are not preferred for outdoor venues at all. The thinner consistency makes it much easier to be blown away in the wind, leaving no effect at all.

    Interesting video. My query relates to using a 1200w machine for finding EVAP and vacuum leaks in a car (my machine is described as a 1200W Smoke Fog Machine). These units have been successfully used for this purpose (TH-cam videos available) but there is little technical detail on the fluid used. I realise that this may not be your area of expertise, but I would value your opinion (and that of any knowledgeable / scientific viewers of this video). You mention water based fluid and oil based fluid - can each be used in any machine. Logically, I would imagine that oil based fluid may be more suited to producing a heavier smoke effect. Can anyone confirm, please?

    A question related to disfecting fog machines... Are they different? There are a few that look like the 400W fog machines... Could you clarify this for us? Can you make your own fog juice with disinfecting properties and use it to fog a room for Covid-19 disinfection purposes?

      Unfortunately our expertise is limited to actual fog use in a special FX environment with these machines and can't speak of their effectivity to disinfect a room with custom juice! It sounds potentially a unsafe as this would output a breathable disinfectant. Might be one for a specialist forum!

    • @morganmlaidd
      @morganmlaidd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When one mentions to disinfect with the fog machine, I am assuming not using typical cleaning solutions, but oils i.e. essential oils. I've researched this, essential oils can be used. Be sure to clean the machine after use.

    • @GetintheMix

      Some fog machines also can be used with haze fluid, but it's best to check in the manual. It's worth noting that haze machines operate differently to fog machines, so putting haze fluid in a fog machine will yield different results and effects to using an actual haze machine.

    So haze is better than fog for lights and lasers?

    • @GetintheMix
      @GetintheMix  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's tough to generalise one being better than the other, but haze will give a more consistent beam effect and make your lights look great with less maintenance and without blasting a big cloud into the room! If this is what you're after rather than a denser fog effect, haze is the way to go :)
