I appreciate you doing this demo, it helped push me to the 30xp over the 45xp. I really wanted to have 110v as an option but was concerned with the the 30xp ability to do something thick in a pinch if I needed it.
what will you recommend the 30XP or the 30 AIR Can the 30 AIr cut as good as the 30XP? thanks, are the 30 AIR build-in compressor reliable and efficient
Nice Review. I am debating between a used Hypertherm 30XP for 1000 dollars and a PrimeWeld Cut60 new for 650.00. Can't find any videos for the new PrimeWeld Unit. Which would you purchase.
my brand new 30xp lasted into fourth year of moderate use then fried the $650 power board, too much $ for machine and consumables, id rather buy 4 chinese ones, consumables are way cheaper too.
Nice machine, but way too expensive to buy and repair. I had a Powermax 1000 that died on me. Hypertherm wanted over $1100 for a new powerboard. Not worth it.. I'll never buy a hypertherm again. Especially since hypertherm had a known issue with the power boards on many of those machines and would never fess up to the problem.
I beg to differ on that. Majority of the plasma cutters such as my CUT-50 can do 1/4" a tad slow but it can do it. when buying equipment, you buy what you pay.
I believe when you said you were using the regular consumables you are wrong you actually are using the fine cut nozzle and shield my friend i can clearly saw it on the video cause i have the same plasma cutter
Are you silly? Of course it is not going to cut 1" with the big gaps between your plates you are going to have blow outs between the gaps, you should know this. smh If you want to do a true test cutting 1" use a solid 1" piece of metal.
I got a used but in brand new condition powermax 85 with a 75 foot lead for a grand ! on Ebay the original consumable box came with it but only 1 missing
@@truthserum9157 $1000 ! With a 75 foot lead ," which is a $750 up grade ! THe guy spelled power max wrong so it never came up in any searches so no one bid on it !

I've also got the hypertherm 30xp absolutely love it it's a very good machine that does what it says it does Bob Elkhart Indiana

But i agree this tiny machine is a beast
Thanks for sharing a demo on it
Not a problem. Thank you for watching.
What size air compressor do you recommend to use with the hypertherm powermax 30xp?

Problem with the air version is they don't have a water trap and become a squirt gun in humid zones or in regular climate when using heavy
yeah stick to 3/8 cut clean and 5/8 sever. 3/4 was a mess, not useable with out further prep.

30XP 100%
To start out with, same with me upgrading. Go with the CUT-50, practice and get experience with it then upgrade.
What kind of air filter/air dryer for this unit?
A small particulate filter first and then coalescence filter all from Harbor Fright for 15 to 20 bucks, install on the compressor.
Tnx your great information and cutting was great to see
Not a problem. Glad I could help.
Can it be used with a cnc table?
I dont believe so. Hand torch only. You'd need the 45 for a machine torch

Wow, that sucks. Did their customer support offer you any compensation on a new one?
Yes ,great machine whilst they’re working......dig deep when they stop.

Those are regular consumables. you can google the difference, you can tell by the shield.
I to have this little devil and I have only the regular tips and those are it
For a $1500 machine I'm not impressed, my lotos 5000D will cut just as clean, I figured their wouldn't be any drop slag on the bottom 😬😪😬😪
But you need a compressor for the 5000D right? =)
You need a compressor for this one as well its not the internal air unit

It was a test, c'mon. Don't be so ignorant.
