Looks like this is going to be an EPIC series. Great first episode. England will always welcome you back:) Wishing you Safe travels ahead Gianni. Sandy
Hi Gianni, it is Maryam here. Abu Maryam means Maryam's dad. That is how dad likes to be known on TH-cam account that co-own. It seemed you were sad and philosophical while cycling through the beautiful Kent countryside. While one could understand you're leaving England for good, dad and I really hope that is not the case. Even if it is the case that you had to leave the UK, you're always welcome back here. In fact, you are the true citizen of the world. I say this as you truly embrace the people, respect and love their cultures wherever you visit. You're an ambassador of goodwill of the humanity. Keep it up Gianni.🌎🚴❤
This is so bittersweet. Change and saying goodbye is difficult and yet sometimes necessary. I hope you continue to share your fabulous adventures with us, and best of luck with your new life 😊
Gianni - best of luck for the future. Enjoy your bike ride. I love your videos - they are really inspiring. Whatever the future holds, may you be happy and healthy.
Wonderful, poetic storytelling. Watched several of your excellent videos on practical stuff too, while searching online after a chaotic Brompton trip across Europe. Enjoy the journey
Hi Gianni, I admire that you were able to quit everything to go on a big bike ride, I think I will follow your path on of these days… Looking forward to following your journey! Cheers!
Good luck Gianni. Despite the fact we have never met I shall miss you. Wishing you much love and wonderful adventures ahead wherever you go. May God Bless you! Rachael
Here's to safe travels... and so many discoveries, both from without and within. People have said there are no more heroes, but to many and myself, you are one... in your simple and honest daring and steps. Thank you for taking us along!
What a pleasant surprise! The start to your adventure (actually, your Homeric Odyssey) was a wonderful start to my morning here in Detroit, Michigan. I know that I'm not alone in these feelings. Many words could be used to describe the coming days but for me they boil down to two... my inspiration. Good luck and stay safe.
Bon Voyage. Here’s wishing you fair winds (that’s from someone who just spent a long day battling headwinds in the Outer Hebrides). You nonchalantly mentioned that you quit your job, so I take it that this is a very long trip. I will be following your adventures closely. Be safe, have a wonderful experience and if you happen to get to Florida, USA, give me a shout.
Thanks again Peter! Hebrides must have been a windy but rewarding location! Never made it to Florida so hopefully, one day! Trip is several months at least, all going well.
Lovely video and commentary. It made me cry. You clearly love my country. Gianni, you are welcome back any time. I just wish that there weren't so many here now who hate the UK and want to take it over and change it to their repressive ways. It is so sad that our politicians have allowed this to happen. It is frightening what has been lost and how much more we are going to lose until it gets better. The UK and also Europe is at a critical point. Good luck on your travels. Fair weather and tailwinds for you.
I have spent more years in the U.K. than in Italy so I must have liked it! It will always be a pleasure to return and will always feel as much at home as in my country. Cheers!
You looked like you were gliding effortlessly. Such a nice change to see you riding a full size bike, with everything in your roomy Ortliebs. You'll get that packing time down to at least 17 minutes.... Ha! Maybe not 5 after all but whats the rush? Although if you do get that fast please tell us how to do it!! Looking forward to following along on your adventure. Congratulations for starting!
Will indeed! Have done some modifications but rather happy with the result now. Maybe next video about Belgium will include that. If not the following one 😊
Hello Gianni..!!! How good and how good to read your messages again, live your trips and learn about your experiences..... Now that you are traveling on vacation, taking a break from the office for a while, how many weeks will you be traveling for, when will you return? Thank you for sharing your new path, from inside your home. Greetings and good travels in the next few days..!!
Enjoyed this one, especially the narration. I’m always keen to learn more about your trips, the route and accommodation and how you’re making these videos on the road. Safe travels and look forward to following along.
Hello Gianni, it is going to be a new and beautiful adventure, I am sure you are going to dazzle us all with new and beautiful views, places and environments, I will be waiting to see each and every one of your publications, you are not alone, I wish you all the best , best of luck and until the next video.😊👍🚴♀️💫✨❤️👏👏👌👍
Uauhh , big news. I guess you had the guts to do what many of us would like to do one day. I have been here also 30-something years, and it feels as if it is time to pack. It will take you a while to adapt, but I am sure that will be for the better.👍
Ah, the UK-a land of tea, crumpets, and weather so unpredictable it keeps meteorologists up at night. 🌧 But let’s dive into my heartfelt lament, shall we? Gianni, the honorary Brit, emerges from the mist, clutching a Union Jack umbrella. His love for the UK is so intense, it could power a thousand red telephone booths. 🇬🇧 As he strolls through the cobbled streets, he encounters a group of people who hate the UK. They’re like disgruntled pigeons, cooing about repressive ways and plotting to replace scones with kale smoothies. 😱 But fear not! Gianni raises his eyebrow (the universal sign for “Hold my Earl Grey”) and delivers a stirring monologue. “Listen up, chaps,” he declares. “We’ve survived wars, plagues, and Piers Morgan. We’ll weather this storm too!” The politicians, meanwhile, are busy playing musical chairs in Westminster. They’ve lost more credibility than a reality TV star with a failed fragrance line. 🎭 And so, my dear friend, the UK stands at a crossroads. Will it emerge stronger, like a phoenix rising from a soggy crumpet? Or will it crumble like a Jenga tower built by indecisive hedgehogs? Only time will tell. ⏳ But fear not, for Gianni is here! Armed with optimism, a pocket-sized umbrella, and a Spotify playlist of British anthems, he’ll lead us through this critical point. 🎶 So chin up, my fellow Brits! Let’s raise our teacups and toast to resilience, rainbows, and the occasional sunbeam. 🌈☕ And remember: When life gives you Brexit, make a cuppa and carry on. 🇪🇺
By the way, from the name, using a - Brompton, folding bike for longer distances is like limiting the length of your steps with a strap! Its best use is definitely as folded 😄!! And coming back to the sane world is refreshing. Finn. Denmark
I loved riding the Brompton and it made some shorter tours much easier than on a large bike. Also true that despite being on the heavy side with what I need to carry a larger bike rolls way better and it is easier to cover long distances. Don’t underestimate Brompton though, they are very capable bikes.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was quite emotional for me to leave and at the start these feelings were overwhelming the excitement for a new adventure. Thanks
What a wonderful vlog! Fabulous footage matched with a beautiful song👌 I also notice that you have a TH-cam luminary following your progress👊@WiltshireMan 😉 Good luck and safe journey!

Many thanks!
Life is a journey. And some journeys need to be documented.
Thanks Miguel!
A great start to your new journey and life.....wishing you well from a wet Cumbria !!
I have never managed to visit Cumbria. I am sure it is stunning up there, despite, or because of, that temperamental weather…;)
Wonderful, poetic storytelling. Watched several of your excellent videos on practical stuff too, while searching online after a chaotic Brompton trip across Europe. Enjoy the journey
Most appreciated! Thanks

Too kind Robert. Far from heroic, but the decision to give this a go was the hardest thing I’ve done so far. Thanks!
What a pleasant surprise! The start to your adventure (actually, your Homeric Odyssey) was a wonderful start to my morning here in Detroit, Michigan. I know that I'm not alone in these feelings. Great to hear someone in Detroit was watching! I suppose you are going through a similar choice? All the best. Cheers

They are 16inches wheels.

Very nice this new adventure. Will you show us your new setup? Good luck 🤞
Will indeed! Have done some modifications but rather happy with the result now. Maybe next video about Belgium will include that. If not the following one 😊
I can see the amulet of Mt.Narita. Please come to Japan again. I have a Brampton.
Well spotted! A Japanese colleague gave it to me as Narita omamori is for travelers and was told I must bring it back one day…sweat😅
Great Video. Great Music supporting it!
Glad you enjoy it! Music is always a challenge and there will be someone saying they hated it! 😂

Planning to not return to an office any soon and dedicate my days to slow cycling 😉

Indeed, and for once not rushed by time!
I will follow you in this great trip! Any plans to come to Catalunya?

Is this trip also coinciding with you moving away from your home (England)?
Indeed.
Where is the brompton?
It’s in the rear right bag.
@@BromptonTraveler my question why are you not riding the Brompton?
He explains all in his previous video.
Superb in every respect, captures the essence of London and the melancholy of loss.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was quite emotional for me to leave and at the start these feelings were overwhelming the excitement for a new adventure. Thanks
Aloha from hawaii, gianni
Beautiful place, aloha! Thanks for bringing some warmth to a still cold Holland!
Buona fortuna.
Grazie!
Suddenly recall an old book written by Paul Theroux, The Kingdom by the Sea. Then he wrote about the Punk. 😂
I guess I need to read more of Theroux to make sense of you comment….thanks!
You might be a private person but gosh we need some more explanation about what is ahead for you.
I have posted an explanation video before this and shared the plan. More than willing to answer any questions you might have. Cheers!
