How to Create & Paint Swamp Bases

- In this video, Sam shows you a variety of products that can be used to create swamp bases for your miniatures.
Feel free to switch any of the stuff used for washes and paints you have, the end result we want is a grim, dark, green/brown bases where we can add natural materials or bought flock and details.

I can’t stand Sam’s base tutorials! Every time I watch one I have to rebase an army. I had to redo my Khorne daemon army using his lava technique. Damn you Sam!!!!!!! Keep up the awesome videos!👍
Haha sorry mate! I have to do these videos so I can follow them myself, the kharadron humans I’m doing are all going to be done this way but I always forget how I do them so this is as much for me as everyone else :)
As for having to rebase, just make it an excuse to start a new army to compliment the new bases you want to do ;) -Sam

Great video and very helpful. Currently using citadel water effects and is taking way too long to dry. Definitely need to try this one and grab a leaf puncher. Thanks for the vid!

I want to like small streams and pools on my Nurgle daemons bases, you reckon in a few layers the swamp green will work, or is it more for little puddles?

I just have a question about AK interactives line of paints. I’m just wondering what the difference between laquer paints and acrylic? My brushes tent to get damaged or left over paint sticks to the bristles. I’m trying to learn how to use them properly 🙏
Thanks for watching, not sure what happens on a chemical level as I’m not a paint scientist! What I’d say though is only use synthetic brushes when using enamel paints like the stuff from ak interactive as it will destroy anything else! -Sam
Amazing tutorial and phenomenal looking base, my brother! My only question is how you attach the model securely on top of all that material. It's it as simple as pinning into the cork of the rocks? Does that hold up to the same wear and tear play that glueing straight to the base does? I know that it's such a newb question, but it's something that I always feel that most basing tutorials are missing how to attach a figure to such intricate basing. Is there any way you could do a tips and tricks video on this in the future?

Thanks Methos, Ill be sure to add it to the next basing tutorial I do but you are correct in that it is just pinned to the base. I wouldn't recommend relying simply on glue as it never holds as well on cork, with pinning it's super durable and any areas that you may still see the pin you can easily cover up with more basing foliage or some texture afterwards! -Sam

Same thoughts on the wet crackle effect. Thought it was bad to haha and the store I bought it from said that's how it's suppose to look. Also live the swamp gel as well. I picked up the transparent gel to try adding different colors to it to see what will happen. Great tutorial also. Enough talking and demonstrating without going on and on. Look forward to more demos and product reviews also.

Hello mate just a thought, there's 2 different scales for the Ivy on the mininatur website, is it the "Evy summer H0 or the Ivy scale 0,936-32"? would help me out with my death guard swamp bases!
