I don't think there was anything wrong with the initial idea. The fascination with south Asian design was just excitement about new ideas and designs, just like any other fashion.

It think it was a very nice idea to replicate this dress. It is on screen for such important moments (I think at least 2 episodes, the flower exhibition and the war declaration + Mary and Matthew first break up), I found it nice to choose this dress. The harem pants are beautiful but they're only seen for a couple of seconds and only to illustrate Sibyl's personnality, whereas the summer dress basically accompanied Mary through lots of things. Also, I found your enthousiasm so cute and communicative! The final dress is beautiful and you can be proud of you for achieving it in such a short amount of time. I hope you'll have fun wearing this dress and trying future projects :)
