I don't think there was anything wrong with the initial idea. The fascination with south Asian design was just excitement about new ideas and designs, just like any other fashion.

This video popped up for me 6 months after you released it. I watched this thinking I wish I were as talented with my sewing as you are. You’re up there with the best of the costuming community and followers will come as the algorithms start recommending you more. I’m subscribing and looking forward to seeing more from you!

I watched your video because I am in the middle of making that truly victorian skirt pattern, and have been discouraged with it. It has been sitting for a month now. You have given me motivation to move forward. You did a beautiful job. Thank you !

I am so glad that I came across your channel! I love your videos, with your delightful personality. It is exciting to watch as you grow through your various projects. I find that TH-cam videos are a fantastic resource for learning new skills, and inspiration. It would have been so cool to have this when I was learning to sew. (That was shortly after they discovered fire, so no TH-cam.) Thank you for being an inspiration, even to us little old ladies!

It think it was a very nice idea to replicate this dress. It is on screen for such important moments (I think at least 2 episodes, the flower exhibition and the war declaration + Mary and Matthew first break up), I found it nice to choose this dress. The harem pants are beautiful but they're only seen for a couple of seconds and only to illustrate Sibyl's personnality, whereas the summer dress basically accompanied Mary through lots of things.
Also, I found your enthousiasm so cute and communicative! The final dress is beautiful and you can be proud of you for achieving it in such a short amount of time. I hope you'll have fun wearing this dress and trying future projects :)

You did such an amazing job on matching the stripes on the back! I really enjoyed watching your video, the pacing was just perfect for my taste and I totally understand the struggle of wanting to make something fot the tube but forgetting to enjoy the process. 😅

Oh mannnnn I was just thinking about making this. I studied the otientalist voyeurism of the west, but I also love and appreciate all of those cultures individually, and I think that recognizing that and removing the oversexualizing is the majority of the battle.

They're also called "lounging pajamas" in French, instead of Britain's turning cultural wear into costumes

What an absolutely fabulous dress! Thank you for such a lovely video. I am also in love with your blue blouse worn at the 2:19 mark. Is it self drafted or fingers crossed, you might have the pattern info?

The garment your making is a skirt and top they made them to look like a dress.
