Beautiful performance from two of the best 👌Even more emotional for me since Olvia passed away and John current health issues. RIP 🙏 Olivia Next you need to hear him singing YOU'RE THE VOICE live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
They were just friends who respected each other. John is married to the love of his life for around 50 years. It is a sentimental song and they both are professional artists and all Australians love these 2 people so much. Try John in this same Event singing Granada with our Anthony Warlow who is more to the Operatic side of things, it will cheer you as they both lark around on stage. Also both Olivia and Anthony do some Solo performance with Olivua doing a superb rendition of Don't Cry for Me Argentina and Anthony doing Music of the Night. Loved your statue and the fact it reminds it off you dad makes it extra special to you. Xxxx
Both of them are brilliant Australians ,so cherished John going though his whole cancer battle . I know Olivia is up their telling him to hold on and fight . I feel that any Aussie who doesn’t love them both ,well that’s down right unaustralian . It’s a beautiful song of unrequited love . They were great friends rip Olivia and John is love can heal someone then we send a freight trains worth and more . Thank you for picking up the beautiful of their performance xoxo
John and Olivia started their careers at the same time on Bandstand in Sydney. I can imagine the pair of them giving each other the courage to perform in front of the cameras back when they were teenagers.
John and Olivia have been friends for such a long time. You can kiss and love your friends. Two of our best friend in Australia. We will never forget them. Thank you Gracie for playing it again, and for your tribute.
I love it that you go again for a second listen ❤.John is actually toning his voice down a bit so as not to overshadow Olivia’s his solo version is equally as good
Gracie you're a little sweetheart! I totally love the way your emotions take over, I'm exactly the same my emotions rule me hahaha Don't EVER change you have a beautiful soul! Can't wait to experience more John Farnham with you! Not many singers in this world can move a person the way John does... take care ❤ Loved your little sculpture too 🤩
They both came from the UK as kids, long time friends. The song was written by a guy from little River Band. Look up their Reminiscing. She was a great actress, try Grease and Xanadu.
I've heard John Farnham sing this song before, but this duet with his great friend Olivia Newton John is so relatable. I know exactly how this song feels, it could be talking about my own friendship.
Please don't hold back the tears.... I'm watching you, watching the song... loving all of it... and I'm crying like a baby xx and to answer a couple of your questions... no they were never married, never even dated. John has been with his wife for about 50 yrs I believe..... ONJ was married a couple of times.... and unfortunately we lost her not long ago to cancer....... she is sorely missed....the Australian music industry is like this though... mostly every artist truly loves every other Australian artist and supports them..... we are a small country (population wise) and these guys grew up supporting each other...
Great reaction he really gets to the heart of you. Lovely performance from 2 amazing singers and especially now Oliva is no longer with us very emotional to watch. Such a beautiful song. You can see by the way they sing together just what great friends they were. We are so lucky to have all the great songs Oliva left us to listen to and of course the wonderful songs her and John did together. John and Oliva make you feel every note and touch you're heart when singing them.
Your reaction was beautiful! Olivia and John were good friends who had known each other for a long long time. John found out he had cancer on the day he had the news of Olivia's passing. Your tears made me have some tears also.
Great reaction they have that affection people, John and Olivia have been very good friends for years, we lost Olivia recently from cancer and John is recovering from surgery also from cancer.John has so many great songs,Burn for you, In Days to come, Touch of paradise, so many more but always watch Johns performances live, Help with MSO is brilliant, The one thing that you can be sure of he gives 💯 percent
Love your reaction! I know how you feel because that's how I feel everytime I hear this song. It touches my heart. Such a beautiful song! What a great performance! Their voices blend so well.
They were very good friends, who began their careers at about the same time in the same city (Melbourne, Australia). I believe John asked Olivia to join him on this occasion, just after Olivia had spent years battling, and beating, cancer. She believed her career was over after so long away, but John proved that not to be true by inviting her back on stage. John has been happily married since the 1970s! 😊
Love this one. Thank you so much. This hits us all right through the heart. Olivia was around 50 in 2001,. She looks phenomenal and sounds even better. Oh, love your palm wine carving.
I love your reaction!!!! I agree the song is so beautiful. John and Olivia "grew" up together in the music business. They are very good friends, John has been married to his sweetheart Jill for many many years. I think this was just after Olivia battled her 1st round of cancer ( please don't come for me in comments if I'm wrong😂) they have great chemistry together but are only very good friends. Their acting is on point though....right???? Tragically I believe John found out he had cancer around the time that Olivia was taken home. RIP Olivia. I met her once in Australia she came to the hospital I worked in and I got a photo with her. She was beauty inside and out😭. Thankyou for your reaction again. I LOVE this song sung by both of them together. It certainly hits you in the feels. 😢 Take care 🌸
Thankyou for reacting to this amazing performance. These two are legends and their chemistry is second to none. Can you please react to John Farnham “angels” live in 2000 with Lisa Edwards another amazing performance you will love
Thanks Gracie for your response…both John & Olivia are people with ‘big hearts’….I feel proud to be an Aussie when I see this duet. Please watch them sing together “Dare To Dream” at the opening of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
There best friends they are really close like family he has cancer they had to remove some of his jaw but I hope he gets better when I heard what happened to him I cried and every time I hear his songs I cannot help it so please play more of his music I am a big fan of his get well soon farnzy we love you
Olivia passed away in August she had cancer for 30 years. they are best friends but both married to other people. Also John has just had major surgery for mouth cancer.
John and Olivier were good friends both grew up in Melbourne Australia John has been married to his wife Jill for 50 years and has two sons John wrote a song for his wife called “ jilly’s Song “
These two are not lovers, but they have been very good friends for many years. They were teenagers when they started out in the entertainment industry, in the same town, at the same time.
They were 3/4through a tour and had to cancel because Olivia had cancer for the second time and final time a few years later Olivia went back to the USA to have her final year on earth
I couldnt quite understand what you said the lady in your carved figure has in bottles. Was it palm oil? It's lovely. I''m 5 months late to find your John Farnham playlist 😊 thank you for a beautiful reaction.
No, not married. John has been married to the same woman since his 20's but Olivia was a close friend. Please react to him singing 'When the War is Over' the last time. His vocal range is insane. You will almost be in disbelief. With John Farnham, always review his live performances. So much more energy than the official videos.
No thay not married , john is married to his wife Jill since the early 1970s , John and Oliver have had a life long friendships , that kiss was just for the show nothing between them just good friends
Please react to John Farnham singing his version of the Beatles song. "Help" th-cam.com/video/dv54giOSRKs/w-d-xo.html and "You're the Voice " th-cam.com/video/6m2m_9Uijso/w-d-xo.html. They are both in a concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. I think you would be moved by both
@@GracieReacts It's actually about falling in love with someone when you are already married and you are not free to pursue the relationship. I wrote 'Please Don't Ask Me' in January 1979 and the lyrics tell what happened to me.
This is the best male/female duet performance ever ❤❤
Agreed
Watching you was adorable! Like seeing a kid locked into a fairytale 🤍
Olivia was gorgeous till the day she left us!!!!! She was so blessed! and so were we! Thank you for this video!
😍🥺
Gracie I absolutely love your reaction to John and Olivia, you are perfect and beautiful in your reaction.

The song is about being friends that could not be in a relationship
Why was this not a massive hit?

No you missed the point it's unrequited love, they can't be together.
From other points of view it makes absolutely hits differently.
Unrequited love is more painful 😣
