I could listen for hours about all the experience you gathered with sponsors. I loved this format, however i think Nick could have made it more of a "podcast" style to make it more casual. The quick cuts to keep the tempo is understandable tho. Great collab! Really enjoy the knowledge sharing. Thank you Justin & Nick!!
I've been doing a lot of brand deals this year and a lot of this is spot on. You can't sit idle on your hands and think good sponsors are going to reach out you have to go out and chase. Another good place to meet brands is going to conventions I've met ALOT of high end sponsors just going to their booths at these trade shows and chatting it up.
Educating brands is one of the things that made it so I could get a 5 figure deal. On the brands side, they really underpriced me. Jumping on a quick Zoom and explaining what they asked for and how it is priced they immediately admitted they weren’t sure what would be fair for the platform. I saved a deal and helped a brand learn about the industry here on TH-cam. Great advice
Nice! It seems the best path is usually communication. If it comes to sales or collaboration in general taking the effort to understand the other person and their needs is always a good idea.
I'm a brand new creator (just started this week) and I just discovered your channel. This is amazing information and I absolutely appreciate it! I feel like I struck gold when I found your videos. Thank you SO much for all the hard work you do to help small creators!
@@NickNimmin Thank you! Fairly terrified and even though I studied up before I launched and THOUGHT I knew what I was doing...turns out everything was wrong and I've been adjusting things since lol. Channels like yours are super helpful and make me feel way more confident! Thanks again :D
When I started my new travel channel, I got my first partner with 20 subs and less than 100 views total. Ok, I knew the guy from before, but still he was willing to support the channel.
You have created amazing video content. I just watched the video and your video quality is admirable. I am very impressed with your content, I analyzed your channel and noticed that you are struggling for video views and video ranking. May I share you some tips how you can reach your goal?
There is some golden information in this video, I was lucky early on in my journey I was approached by a big brand in my niche that I have been with now for a few years and they have been amazing to work with. Recently I thought up a new idea for a second channel that I want to start and approached another brand whom I have done work in the past and pitched the idea and they are going to support it, which will help me get it off the ground. And sold off the back of everything that is being talked about here. I plugged right into what they were about and made it all about them
I definitely have to reach out but I’m always on the fence because I feel like there’s something specific I have to do. Basically I overthink it by thinking about a specific message or way of reaching out but I feel that maybe I’m just holding myself back. I’m gonna make it an end of year goal to reach out to one brand and no matter how it goes just learn from the experience.
@NickNimmin Thanks Nick. The only things I can think of selling are eBooks and courses. I'm currently working on an online course. Just finished watching this video. Great tips from Justin - my big takeaways are the packaging deals, and not just sending a load of stats when pitching for a deal. Do you have any tips on collaborating with other content creators?
The advice on pricing strategies and considerations for deliverables, usage rights, and exclusivity was enlightening. It was interesting to learn about tying package offerings to brands' campaign goals for upselling opportunities. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on aligning proposals with the brand's objectives for successful collaborations.
I've always been the calm, passive one, but honestly there are times when I wished I lived on the opposite side of the coin ❣️thank you for the encouragement, keep shining
Thanks for another great video Nick. Have you done a video on the "Invalid Traffic" issue that is killing small and medium (up to 500K sub) channels? It appears like TH-cam is blaming everyone except big channels for the fact that their advertisers discovered that TH-cam is ripping them off.
I was just thinking that I wished there was a way to save videos because this is some great info! Then I found the “save” tab by sliding the tabs to the far right!
Just hit over 3400 in subs and I bust my butt daily bring daily uploads and daily live streams over 1.3 million views. I think it’s time I start to reach out and try to land some sponsors. Thanks for the content here I’m trying to absorb as much information as possible on this topic. I really admire all you creators out there trying to make it everyday it is a true battle and work and learning is the only two things that gets you to where you want to be.
This was sooooo helpful. As a new and growing fast content creator, i am getting co. asking me to do videos on their products. Thank you very much, Ray's
Always used your teachings...still I think TH-cam hates me😂. After almost 3 years, pretty good videos, 7.7K impressions on a 4.5 ish CTR, we managed to reach only 370 subs. Sad story......I will probably quit, but it was a beautiful journey anyway!😊 Thanks Nick!🎉
The only things this showed me was two things. The stress of getting sponsors and how much I'll be taken advantage of. I'm almost afraid of it now. I'm glad I'm small for now!
Thanks my channel is growing and I always watch your TH-cam advice to help me get it down Nick! I can't believe I have already gotten 250+ subscribers in the 3 months of posting videos on TH-cam! I would like to get sponsors, but probably need to get more subscribers. I would love to do mini commercials LOL. It's fun!
@@NickNimmin ok sounds good. I hit 10,000 views today. My next milestone according to TubeBuddy is 15,000. Should get there in a week or so. Just focusing on putting out informative and entertaining content ;)
The easiest way to get brand sponsorship is networking with other TH-camrs and asking them about some previous brands they have worked with. They will be more than willing to share the email for you to send your proposal to them.
We have approached the brand we want to partner with multiples times, even in person and have included them already in our content, and they just use their own team - so looking for that up and coming company to partner with to help them and us grow.
I have four questions: 1.Does having a faceless or showing face matter to the brands? 2.Can the type of content a creator makes affect working with brands even if there completely different content? Ex.If the creator does tech vids on TH-cam but is also doing xxx content on the side can that effect the outcome of getting brands. 3.Can a creator break from a brand agreement even if in the beginning was perfect but later down the road the brands expectations were too much for the creator to handle? 4.Should a creator hire a lawyer for higher brands as well as an accountant?
Brands prefer faces. Yes your content type will determine the brands you work wth. Yes, your off TH-cam activity can be a factor if it's public. When doing deals both sides get everything in writing so that you don't have those types of issues. At a certain level it's helpful to hire a lawyer and an accountant.
This is so encouraging, thank you Nick and Justin! Something is going on with my channel and the algorithm and I’ve been gaining 2-4 subscribers per day for the past month, apparently from different videos, based on the comments. I think some brands in my niche might be open to me approaching them. I’ll check out Justin’s newsletter. ❤

There's a couple of ways to go about it - you could do it podcast style and use a service like StreamYard to record the whole thing. What we did here was to record ourselves locally whilst on a video call (so recording on camera like it was just A roll). I had Justin send me his part and edited that together with my part plus B roll into the final version.

Great info, Nick and Justin! Nick, have you done a video (or could you do one) about how to embed the "Subscribe" logo you had in the lower right corner of this video? Ditto for the products logo in the lower left corner.
Once you have the graphic all you have to do is log into your creator studio, then go to customization, then branding. Upload it into the watermark area.
I can't find a short or vid from you, Nick, dedicated to Adding Links on Shorts. Is there anything specific we need to know? Love your content, I may be missing something. But I come to you first for channel help. You Rock.
Hi Nick, I have tried asking every car manufacturer and also vehicle accessories as I do car reviews. I haven't got anything back and I even said I would do this for free just so I could get my foot in the door and nothing has come from it and now I am worried that I will never get a deal from anyone ever
Keep adding value through your videos - over time that value along with the trust you build with your audience will open doors that are not opening right now.
You are doing some things very well. The wall you are bumping up against is the same wall most car reviewers have. You are reviewing boring new cars that are all essentially the same thing and pointing out every feature. I have no reason to watch you over more established video producers. Even top gear had to use fighter jets to keep people's interest in a pagani. Please understand I think you did a fine job but you are just burried in competition who is better and have bigger budgets. Your camera presence is mostly there, as well as your camera work. You also managed to get people to lend you cars to review and get several hundred views per video. I would be pretty proud. How can you set yourself apart?
@jerbear7952 Thankyou very much I do appreciate the honest feedback. Yes I do really enjoy it and I hope to better myself with maybe some different used cars and some stylish and also some unique cars. Thanks again I really appreciate it.
I've had several companies reach out to me about collaborations/sponsorships but they only ever want to send me free products in exchange for a review. If I request money they usually decline or only want to offer me like $100. Help!
One of the struggles I have is finding a contact person at a company or a way to get in touch with them. They either don’t have the information on their site or a gatekeeper who filters the calls and don’t let me in. Any tips to overcome this?
Thanks again for inviting me on Nick!! I could talk about sponsorship strategy for hours lol. Appreciate you!!

We can’t add links in shorts anymore. TH-cam removed that option. 😟
@@NickNimmin related video links, sorry for the confusion. But I do see where to add them now.
Man, this was a great video! Thanks for always uploading gold Nick🔥 🎯
👊 🤓
Thanks for the info. This is something I am looking to start in 2024.

Hi Nick,
I have tried asking every car manufacturer and also vehicle accessories as I do car reviews. I haven't got anything back and I even said I would do this for free just so I could get my foot in the door and nothing has come from it and now I am worried that I will never get a deal from anyone ever
Keep adding value through your videos - over time that value along with the trust you build with your audience will open doors that are not opening right now.
@@NickNimmin Thanka Nick I appreciate it
You are doing some things very well.
All I get is people asking to send me free stuff. I tell them I want money and they don’t reply back
OMG you ar amazin keep up the good work, your asking everything that i was wondring about
Glad I could help!
Wow, such an informative interview! Thanks!
I've had several companies reach out to me about collaborations/sponsorships but they only ever want to send me free products in exchange for a review. If I request money they usually decline or only want to offer me like $100. Help!
Justin's content is exactly what you need!
One of the struggles I have is finding a contact person at a company or a way to get in touch with them. They either don’t have the information on their site or a gatekeeper who filters the calls and don’t let me in. Any tips to overcome this?
Use linked in. Look up the companies, look for their marketing or influencer marketing people and reach out to them.
Hi Nick, can you also work with Brands if you have a faceless channel?
It's very possible - look at Half as Interesting
Very informative as always Nick. Thanks for this.
My pleasure! 🤓 ✋
