Love watching your videos bro, I have one on my channel of me taking out some pigeons with the Torque X Pro and some .snipersling yellow with 9.5mm steel
great shooting as always mike, a bag of 4 all on the same outing is awesome! I usually hunt with 10mm lead I make myself but I recently found a supplier where I can get 11mm steel pretty cheap (im in scotland) is that what you hunt with? I think it would work out cheaper in the long run and more convenient for me to make the switch to steel.
Big grin at the end says a lot nice work. The extra info on your setup is useful aswell, wonder if you have thought about using homemade fired clay balls as ammo? I have some in a few sizes drying to experiment with, testing weight and energy etc.
@@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans In the little test batch I'm doing the 19mm ¾" stuff has come out around 5.5-5.6grams so near enough exactly the same as 7/16 steel. Have made plinking air dried stuff before more like 11mm think the bigger they are more it averages out the wonky bits worked for stump shooting. Heard of some guy's using 1" balls part of the hunting theory is they have such a large surface area you get all the energy dumped and they are so large makes marginal shots less marginal. Making ammo is just all part of the fun and experiments.
Let me get this straight... You used to fist fight snowshoe hares as a child?!? That is the most outlandish thing I have ever heard. You deserve a reward. Sometimes I keep the fur to make hats and stuff but it's really thin leather and super fragile. They are primarily a food source.
@@sturmslingshotsandshenanigansI'm on the Peninsula and put my slingshots away because I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't kill, now I'm watching your videos and I am doing something wrong, maybe my shot it too light?? At the moment I'm learning throwing sticks (boomerangs) and they are a blast but I haven't hunted with them yet
Yes sir a slingshot in the right hands is a great small game tool. Practice until you can hit a golf ball every time. Match your bands to your ammo and make sure you have enough FPE to cleanly take what you hunt and you will be fine.
@@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans I got my ammo online bulk, it is steel, .375 dia. (about 9mm) and weighs 3.53 grams. This is smaller and lighter than what I heard you talking about in one of your videos, that is most likely my issue. I did have two nice body hits on two grouse but both just looked at me and flew away unharmed. I'll look for bigger/heavier bearings
9mm will work, you need it to go faster to achieve a lethal FPE. Also, and equally importantly, hit em in the head. Body shots won't get you anywhere with grouse or squirrels. You might get the occasional hare that way but it is a pain to track em down. Hit everything in the head with a filip. That is my best advice.
Wait till the end. Pause @ 19:28 and take a screen shot. the outside forks are 4 inches. Expand the picture until the dimensions are correct. Trace it. You have your template.
Great flinging Mike. Enjoying all your videos. Really enjoy that your keeping it real. Listen your slings shots are amazing looking. If I wanted to send you a fork from some Buck Thorn. This stuff is a tight solid grain and has a red colour to it. I’ve been make ice-fishing handles from it. I’m heading out tomorrow for a rabbit hunt with my scout xt I’m new to slingshots. So I will get you a couple forks. You will not be disappointed. Do you have a email or Facebook messenger?? Cheers Dieter.
Beautiful frames my doode! 😍
Good shooting too lol
Thanks!
Cracking job....nice to hear people still looking out after others...thank you for sharing.

Heck of a shot on that 2nd bunny!!
Thanks! I surprised myself!
Beautiful slingshot❤
Thank you!
Lovin' the little window kill shots... another super vid...
I'm glad! This time of year that is all I ever get!
Your a monster with that thing. Lol I need to practice (usually I use PCP air rifles) but this has always interested me.
Do it. It's a hell of a challenge and very satisfying to do something difficult with a tool you made yourself.

Yep I'm shooting 11 mm steel.
Threading the needle as they say on that second shot, well done sir
Yes sir. Those are fun shots! Thanks for watching.
Nice frame buddy i love it👍
How wide is that frame?
4 inches from outside edge to outside edge. All my frames have that same gap. That is point on at 20 yards with my anchor point.
Big grin at the end says a lot nice work.

I have not. I shot marbles for a while. It would take big clay to match the weight of a steel ball and get the same fpe. Could be done tho

I do agree that snow "is deep"
How many times do I grumble about that in this video? 😂
@@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans don't worry not to much
I'm tempted to buy that one 🤔
This is in my personal keep forever collection.😊 I have another eastern red cedar up on eBay right now though. Same dimensions.
You must have had some good training?😂😂🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
I'll give credit where credit is due. Hats off Pops. Lol
Did this as a kid used to have fights with them , no shooting at the head. Do you keep the skin .

hola amigo podrias darme las medidas de tus resorteras?? por favor
4 inches wide outside fork, 2 1/4 inch gap. The rest is trivial.
Hi friend, could you give me the measurements of your slingshots?? Please make me one. the measurement of poles and between pole and pole.
I sell a few from time to time on eBay. I gave you the important measurements on the last comment. Good luck and happy building
