I’m in northeast Pennsylvania and we got slammed! Started snowing heavily around 4pm yesterday and hasn’t let up since. The highway is shut down, power is out, our fireplace is roaring, and we are loving it!!
Me and my girlfriend last second decided to drive up to Asheville to see some snow last night. I didn’t expect it to be coming down so hard it was amazing
Hearing you mention snow in Altoona reminds me of the movie Groundhog Day. If you haven't seen it, I think you would get a kick out if it. It stars Bill Murray. He is a weatherman who is trying to climb through the ranks of television, but he encounters an unusual phenomenon which changes his life. It's a funny film. You seem to use your time wisely, so I don't know if you have time, but I recommend it for you in your line of work.
Breezy and chilly here in the Midlands of SC, but the sun is shining and the Lake Wind Advisory just ended. Thanks for the forecast, Gerald. Please keep the Thanksgiving snow well north of here. 😆😆
During past half hour, western North Carolina has received about 1/2 inch of snow. It’s still coming down with gusty winds (and my husband is out on the road). Thank you for your accurate predictions. My husband laughed at me this morning because his weather app didn’t indicate this (we had a dusting over night, but no accumulation on ground or roads). The rapid change since his leaving on errands - especially on the roads - has me worried since road conditions post Helene are iffy.
I'm in NJ about 4 miles from Philadelphia. So far just rain, a mix is forecast for later today, Temperatures are too high and will stay too high here for anything to stick so it's like a very cold rain event. Needless to say if traveling beware of the temperature, especially if traveling north or west of the city. I've been hit more than once on a rainy day when temps dip below freezing and everyone starts spinning around and crashing. When you see those signs 'bridges freeze first', that is true.
Like your video. Any forecast over 5 days out is a crap shoot. Even with the different models. I am still predicting a mild winter with a few cold shots and little snow. Mainly talking I-95 corridor.
South western Pa Fayette County 3 inches in the lower elevations mountains are at 6 to 10 in some areas friend in northern part of Maryland says close to a foot.
Hey Gerald, we had some snowbursts yesterday morning here far sw suburbs of Chicago.several r eports of 3 to some isolated 5" for me about an inch mostly on rooftops cars, and grassy areas. It melted qickly as it fell. Close call for us Thankgiving with that storm track south. Mitch got snow as he pulled up in Gatlinburg last evening! I cant believe it! Its got to be divine intervention! And Cantore just said 5 inches fell there! The interesting thing Cantore said it was Lake Michigan moisture trajectory se into eastern Tennessee where upsloping is occuring! And just by looking at the radar a moisture plume off Lake Michigan you can see its se movement..cool stuff! Thank you for your early morning coverage and have a safe blessed day...sorry i ramble alot!😂 i love weather!!🌎🎛❄️🦃🎄 forgot to leave with the 8am obs. 42° dp 40° cloudy breezy to 46° today
I’m in Garrett County MD - looks like the snow will continue for the next 12 hours I’m about two hours south of Pittsburgh and twenty minutes away from West Virginia Send us a heat wave 👋 Great job ? Go North Carolina🎉
I’m going to moving by next October I can’t take cold weather I have a real bad case of that Seasonal Depression Disorder SAD where I watch the Sun daily!! I’m freezing every day. Im moving to Central America!!
hey bro Luv ur vids fs. I've noticed that u often correlate windspeed with temperature gradient? I was taught that windspeed is best correlated with pressure gradients. To epmphasize this relationship on weather maps, the lines we most often see on maps are "isobars" - or lines of equal pressure. Highest Wind velocities are always associated with areas where isobars are most closely packed, or in other wors, where the pressure gradients are highest. Wind direction is always parallel to the isobar lines. How come u correlate wind speeds with temperature? Ur da best man. Greg
Great question! A temperature gradient creates a pressure gradient! Also wind speeds only run parallel to isobars when there is no friction (so above the surface, or over the ocean).
When will that ever break down out west? I heard by the middle of December we will have a Major Arctic Air Outbreak & will last a long time also not just 2 or 3 days either!!

How much snow in your yard ? What is the measurement?
@@boxingstarcmbballer8797 I’m not sure, maybe 6 to 8 inches? It’s really hard to tell because it’s so wet.

I am in RI. There is not a DROP of snow here (Friday). Snow in the south ? WHAT GIVES ????
Do you think this entire winter will be good for Ohio Valley or just the opening?
Its hard to know. We can barley get things right a week out let alone a month or 2 out.
Mitchell shouted u out yesterday on air have you heard if he got to see snow yet???
