Fully Suspended 1985 Honda ATC 200S - Flat Track Oval Racing and Walk Around

- I've been the care taker of this 1985 Honda ATC 200S previously owned by PJ Hart for about 6 months now. I haven't done much to it yet, but that will come with time. In this video I do a little walk around of the machine and talk about what's been done to it over the years.
Then, me and my son Bennett do some racing around the oval track we created in my back yard. It's funny how you can feel like you're really getting after it, but then when you see a video of yourself, you realize you're going slow as molasses...
Anyway, we had a lot of fun and nobody got hurt, so that was great.

It can be cold, but you can dress right and barely notice it. Once your heart get's pumping and the adrenaline starts flowing, it's all smiles!

Before swapping carbs try upping your main jet a size or two, my 200 with supertrapp header needed a little extra. Judging by the color of the chrome its lean so that would explain why it likes the choke. By far the most fun machine in the snow. Cheers brother! Beautiful collection, this is one of the machines im rather jealous of. Keep up the content
I agree. And thank you very much!! I've spent zero hours tinkering on this so it probably is nothing more than jet size. Just in this video alone you could see a couple things missing (nuts and bolts) so, it really deserves to come in the shop and get some attention.
Sweet Custom Machine, that's a rear drum brake adjustment hole plug, can be found at local parts store in the help section.

I have an 84 200s with the PK pack on it. It includes PK suspension, PK pipe, and carb kit. Yours looks nice!

We were certainly building memories and having a blast doing it. Bennett may need to work on his endurance a little... but he'll get there.

Yes sir. Would give the whole collection to be able to have another afternoon of trompin' with my dad... I can't help but wonder what he'd say about what I've filled the barn with. I think he'd think it's pretty cool, but would still prefer a barn full of Mopars.

I have a suspended 185s that I put together in 2016. It has the bolt on PK rear suspension like yours and 200x forks. I ran into shifting issues with it at trike fest and just started an engine build for it. I got a good 200s bottom end for free when I bought a 200e. The guy just wanted it out of the way. I have a wiesco 10.5:1 piston and 200x cam for it. I'm very excited to get it back on the trail. I'm not excited for the shift pattern change but the engine just fell in my lap.
I'm jealous of the supertrapp exhaust. Mine has a 200x DG pipe and I am not a fan.
That sounds like a great build man. So, the bottom end you got must be an 85 or an 86? I'm assuming it's not an 84 because that would be the same down shift shift pattern as the 185S. I wish you could share pictures in the comments here because I'd love to see what your machine looks like!
@@ThisOldTrike I decoded the serial number when I got the engine and it came back as a 85 200s. I can link you to my build thread on 3 wheeler world. I believe we are still connected on messenger.

Could have been an 82 185S... but the 200S didn't show up until 84. Yeah, my parents had an 84 Big Red and an 84 TRX 200 and I got to ride them pretty much whenever I wanted on our property and I know I had SO MANY close calls on those... it is crazy.

The open place in starter housing is the decompression cable hole
Correct. I was on my way to mention that when I got distracted by drips and other missing things. But yes, because the decomp cable was removed, it left that hole open.

There was another atc200s for sale with rear suspension recently in NY, very rough, vague details, bad pictures. Ad said something like "honda ATC 200"...... but 100% had "add-on" rear suspension. I wanna say it was $2200. If i see it again; I will forward a link.

I’m thinking about buying one off marketplace and bringing her back to life I would love a 250r or 250sx but around me there’s not much decent ones that hasn’t been ran into the ground😂
Where abouts are you located? I've seen a few decent ones for sale lately. Sometimes you have to drive a few hours to get to them.
What source do you use to find these 3 Wheeler's?
Primarily Facebook marketplace. Used to be Craigslist. I've had a lot of word of mouth deals over the years though.
I took screenshots of that pk bolt on monoshock kit, from your video, many of them in fact.
Is that anything you'd consider sharing more information about? I respect the process paid and such and I'm not out to profit financially I'm actually not at all rich and it'd be cool to "DIY" this on the $200 shitter I picked up

These PK kits fit the 200's also. The pictures I put in the video of Rex Slaughter's machine are from a 1980 185, but technically the same set up for a 200.

It definitely is. Needs the shock to be rebuilt and a couple odds and ends addressed and she'll be perfect.
